Game looks incredible! - Phyltre, on 10/10/2007, -3/+15It was taste. If you preferred concept, you went with HL2. If you preferred execution, you went with Halo. Think about it: HL2 had a great conceptual storyline, that was implicitly delivered rather than explicitly put in your face with cutscenes. It also revolutionized the physics concept. However, these high concepts could have used better execution; HL2 shunned wide environments, the physics system never really let you do much beyond throwing things around, and difficulty suffered. Especially when you got the uber-grav gun.
Halo (1 &2) had a simple, well-established storyline, a relatively common physics system, and it had all been "done" before on some level. But as far as execution, it staked out entirely new territory in the console space (and matchmaking bests even PC FPS offerings today, as most reviewers grudgingly admit.) - joegibes, on 10/10/2007, -2/+13҉Aaah backwards!!! No one submitted their link to digg, if they did, I would have dugg it. Either way, just enjoy the video, no biggy, people know it is from Gamersyde as it is right on the video.
