- DevinOlsen, on 10/10/2007, -2/+35I'm not even going to say 'That's the worst photoshop ever' since clearly photoshop wasn't used... The correct thing to say would be 'Worst MS paint ever'...
The 'Arcade' part on the box was clearly cut and pasted.
Lame - Nafla, on 10/10/2007, -6/+34*sigh* Can't edit the description anymore. But the Xbox Arcade is a new SKU (basically a rebranding of the Core) as a more casual friendly console. Extra spicy detail: it comes with a 256 MB memory card, which marginally solves the lack of HDD in the current SKU.
- aggrazel, on 10/10/2007, -1/+23256MB wouldn't hold very many games on XBLA
- SeBBBe, on 10/10/2007, -2/+19Did you guys actually look at the image??
http://gamernode.com/upload/Article%20Image/arcade1187607239.jpg
Just look at it... It's such an incredibly bad fake it's embarrassing. - DeRiza, on 10/10/2007, -1/+11So will all of the arcade games have to fit on that memory card, then?
- reed311, on 10/10/2007, -2/+11Another day, another Xbox 360 SKU.
- cusoman, on 10/10/2007, -0/+9Cut and pasted? I think you're giving them too much credit. Looks more like someone took MSPaint and made a green fill box and entered text over it.
- winmywii, on 10/10/2007, -2/+11It's just rebranded suckiness.
- Rukaribe, on 10/10/2007, -2/+8Looks fake to me. Look at the slide show pics posted the word Arcade looks really fake. If the point of the console is to download arcade games only having a memory card is silly for that. The whole core is just silly it hurts developers by not guaranteeing HDD.
- BOBcat5785, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6So angry this morning.... Looks like somebody has a case of the Mondays! Better get over to Chatsky's for some coffee
- shadowmoses, on 10/10/2007, -2/+7It seems like it also includes a wireless controller which is a great addition to the 360 core.

Working link to image (: - john2kx, on 10/10/2007, -5/+10with all due respect, 256 MB hardly solves anything, not even marginally.
- Nafla, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6They will all be pre-loaded on the memory card as far as we've heard. But you can always delete and redownload the arcade games if you want to free up space for game saves
- mrfreeziexp, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5It doesn't really make any sense.. It seems like if you are marketing your console for arcade games, it should come with a hard drive to store those games on.
- djSyndrome, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5And yet it made it to the front page in less than four hours.
- thirdman, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4People without one, perhaps?
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -2/+6This looks fake, look at the 'Arcade' on the box and it looks like he just put it on...D for Effort
- danjal, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4you know, thanks for bring my attention to that, i'm now undigging and bury
- beckerist, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Considering they JUST upped the XBLA filesize limit to 250 MB...I'm not sure that 1 single game is going to be worth having to keep buying cards for...
I don't understand how Microsoft doesn't think a harddrive is yet a necessity?!? And the simple fact they totally rip us off to buy one...oy. I'm glad I got a premium! - Easty, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Everything gets marked up when it comes to £ and €.
- danjal, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3surely they could just find a cheaper 20gb to ship with it and drop the price
- street656, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4In the pic, why does it look like "arcade" was photoshopped in there?
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Photoshop aside, it was a bit of a con selling core systems to us anyway. When it came to the point that I had to get a hard disk so I could update my PGR 3 game amongst others, I thought "You tight bastards, you knew that this would happen".
Tempt them with a cheaper option, and then tell them they'll need to upgrade if they want to continue playing their games. Thanks for that.
No wonder I'm a mac user when it comes to work and everyday computer stuff. - spoiled1, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2The core should get a 20GB, Pro a 60GB, and Elite can stay as it is
- djSyndrome, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2The limit is now 150MB. IIRC, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night was the first game to arrive over 50MB.
- Russomd, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I wouldn't get to hyped about this, I agree clearly the arcade looks pasted on the picture using ms paint. This would be a great upgrade to the core system, wireless controller + memory card+ 5 free arcade games. Microsoft would bank it in. The picture we saw looks fake.
- pegisys, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2with some of those arcade game they are small enough that they could be downloaded in a few minute and sit in RAM while in use. The games are so simple that they should use no where near 512 MB so the 50 or so MB for the entire game should cause any performance problems, or did they up the limit.
- aserer511, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2yay 279 units of currency!
- djSyndrome, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2None of those games would appeal to the 'casual gamer' Microsoft would be going after with this package. If it were real, that is.
- rjejr, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I don't see why everyone is calling this "bogus" as it's also up on Joystiq without all the negativity.
Also, it's probably Europe only so everyone in the states can stop getting their panties in a bunch. - bilbravo, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Federal minimum wage in the United States is $5.85
- Myonosken, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4Everyone bury this story- just look and the frigging image.
http://img340.imageshack.us/img340/7578/pfftov4.jpg - SSCrow, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1The Halo 3 one is limited, and meant for the Hardcore Halo fans.
The Core will be eventually phased out.
The Elite is for people who download many videos from Xbox Live Marketplace.
And the Pro is for everyone in general. - Dgen_X, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1why does it look like those boxes were edited in ms paint?
- mywhitenoise, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I don't. In fact, i'm thinking most people DON'T.
There's a Premium version on sale at this local shop for $120, I want to get it just because of the price...but I honestly can't think of any good games for it (aside from Gears and Bioshock). All the other "good" games are already out on PS3, which I have. I ***** hate Tom Clancy games. - samdu, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Um... No.
- ShuttleDisaster, on 10/10/2007, -2/+3so fake. buried
- hassanchop13, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1more unnecessary links and blatant advertisement: www.GTFO.com
- grumbel, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1EUR == Dollar when it comes to console prices (thanks to VAT, longer warranty, etc.).
- yournamehere, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1so you are saying they don't do this in the Apple camp?
I hate to break it to you and it does suck but, that's business and MS isn't the only one that does it, by far. - xxbrighteyed, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I think you need to wipe it up...
...all that ***** you're talking, that is - HolyChimp, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Dead Rising, Viva Pinata, Crackdown, Forza, Oblivion (if you aint already got the PS3 version).
I also hear whispers on the internet of some new FPS coming out near the end of September that people think will be quite good.
Seriously, at $120 why not buy first and worry about it later? - xxbrighteyed, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Spongebob isn't Disney... :S
- samdu, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Doesn't matter. The damage is already done with Cores out in the wild. Developers can't ever count on there being a hard drive in a 360. The Core was the biggest mistake MS made with the 360. And very surprising after having HDs standard in all previous gen X-Boxen.
- jacksons98, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1They could just have a CD or DVD with the games preloaded on that. It would suck if they took the memory card space for them.
- battletrax, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1They should at least make a "cool" fake console, gosh dang.. arcade? Who gets excited about this....
- samdu, on 10/10/2007, -2/+3A bad image edit doesn't necessarily mean that this is fake. Marketing could have been on a tight time table to get the image out and just thrown something together. If it were something more dramatic than a basic rebadge of the Core, I'd be inclined to immediately dismiss it as well. As it is, companies have released early packaging material that looks worse.
- SpoBo, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1rofl hilarious :') I'm proud that belgium got the exclusive but it's one of those things that shouldn't have happened. Who cares about a console without a harddisk. You hook it up .. you set up Live. You try to download a demo and it says the following: Go and buy a harddisk that costs 120€ for a misserable 20GB. Tissues for your tears are included in the 'Arcade' packaging. This is such a waste of money :s And I feel sorry for the kids whose parents decide to be smart by buying an 'Arcade' version.
- hassanchop13, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1and various states pay more than that.
for the most part, people who are buying expensive video game consoles arent making minimum wage (unless they are kids/teenagers/students, in which case its usually just extra spending money). when it comes right down to, its just screwing over europe -
