- stagl, on 01/15/2008, -0/+3if you haven't played the first, i must say that at first glance, the game looks nothing more than a violent, dark FPS. but about 30 minutes into the beatings and disturbing SFX of caving someones face in with a lead pipe, you'll find an incredibly deep and dark storyline that keeps your interest throughout the entire play length. when you complete it, the first thing most people do is turn to the internet for answers. hopefully this sequel will help with that. :)

- crashingechelon, on 01/15/2008, -0/+1I wonder two things about this sequel. Why change the voice actor of Ethan Thomas and what about his left hand? I couldn't get a clear view to see if his left index finger was missing since SKX cut it off in the barn, cause I remember after that in the game play animations he still had the finger. During the ending cut scenes you never get a clear view of his left hand.

However, I'm not so sure about this one. I'm not digging the new character voice at all. In the original, the voice made your character sound more weak and inquisitive, rather than badass.

- MacPh1st0, on 01/15/2008, -0/+0Yes I agree, it's a real achievement when a game goes beyond mere by-the-numbers gameplay and crosses over into something with an environment, story and atmosphere that really gets into your psyche, makes you feel intense emotions and makes you really think about what happened. Something that special deserves to be lauded by big sales numbers (like with BioShock) so more developers realize that this is what we actually want in our video games! Hopefully they can continue this with the sequel, and that it won't suffer from a bad case of sequelitis that has happened to many other sequels to popular games.
