- 1nd1g0, on 10/11/2007, -7/+59The graphics look quite impressive...
- hokeywebb22, on 10/11/2007, -6/+35Anyway this will calm down everyone who cuts down halo 3 for not having the quality graphics of a next gen game?
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -4/+31there goes my sophomore year of college down the drain....
- kidtsunami, on 10/11/2007, -1/+19It would be nice to see a comparison shot against delta halo from Halo 2.
- TehSwat, on 10/11/2007, -3/+21Gears of what?
- cj5430, on 10/11/2007, -1/+17That's not the first campaign screen. This one is.

- hhlim, on 10/11/2007, -4/+15Halo 3 is going to kick ass. Four player online campaign is going to be pretty awesome.
- inferno1005, on 10/11/2007, -3/+14Frankie (from bungie) said at NeoGaf that this is a screen shot taken from the actual campaign, during gameplay, using the new feature that lets the player pose, and take photos (and upload them to bungie.net, forza 2 style).
- strictnein, on 10/11/2007, -2/+12I think the camera angle is the biggest cocktease of all time. Just enough of the ground terrain shown to say "Hey, maybe this isn't Crysis level stuff, but it still kicks ass".
- AwesomeMonster, on 10/11/2007, -1/+9MAN I CAN'T BELIEVE WERE GETTING PAYED TO DO THIS!
- NeoCortex, on 10/11/2007, -2/+10Looks good. The graphics could still use some tightening up on level four, though.
- HBNDonut, on 10/11/2007, -3/+11Fanboy mb? Resistance looks like ***** compared to Halo 3. Especially online!
- HBNDonut, on 10/11/2007, -2/+10No-one said that it did.
For a console game, though, its gonna rock face! - bj00rn, on 10/11/2007, -2/+9Halo 3 actually render clouds as 3 dimensional objects. Bungie have talked about it in their blogs, and there are youtube videos out there demonstrating it.
In that context I doubt that Bungie would release a shot with "painted on clouds" at the same time claiming it was in-game. - AwesomeMonster, on 10/11/2007, -0/+7Bungie has said its going to happen. He ain't kidding.
- yoyoyoyo, on 10/11/2007, -4/+11Have you ever even played Halo? Bungie uses the in game engine to render cutscenes, they don't use any pre-rending cutscenes.
- truspector, on 10/11/2007, -3/+10Resistance looks no better than COD2 which launched almost two years ago on the 360.
- Akaji, on 10/11/2007, -2/+9They've already stated that MP graphics will be significantly less detailed than SP graphics to maintain a constant 60 FPS.
- eneshelon, on 10/11/2007, -2/+8zomg! it looks like halo 2 graphics! im not buying it!
*sarcasm* - jackpot, on 10/11/2007, -6/+12http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a159/lordbill/H3_WSJ_CHIEF.jpg
- hokeywebb22, on 10/11/2007, -2/+7Maybe you should not buy into rumors that bungie have already shot down. They said that the game will be on one disc and that the other discs were just the bonus features for the legendary edition.
Here is the quote for the Bungie Weekly Update that week:
ure enough, I go to Amazon and there it is, in full color. So, first off, let me clear it up for you:
The Collector's Edition picture erroneously shows that it ships with a Bonus Content disc and a Game Two disc. Incorrect. It's a mistake at MS' end and we're updating retailers with the correct image. The "Game Disc 2" shown in the art actually refers to an interactive Bonus Content disc. It's an Xbox "executable" (think of it like a menu-driven disc, similar to the Official Xbox Magazine cover disc) and internally, has always been referred to as "Game Disc 2" because it has to go through the same certification process as Halo 3 itself. That was somehow communicated to MS retail marketing verbatim. Hence the error. No big deal.
The Legendary Edition comes with two extra discs. The "executable" interactive disc listed above, and a Bonus Content DVD - the one pictured incorrectly with the Collector's Edition. Confused? No wonder. - NerdyNinja, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5No, he's not kidding. Some modders took apart the beta code somehow, and found references that imply more than 2 players playing coop over xbox live. Whether it'll make the final game has not been revealed by Bungie yet, but we will at least have coop over xbox live.
- silencerider151, on 10/11/2007, -1/+6Like people actually do work at work.
Give me a break. - HBNDonut, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5There was some campaign footage in the Brute Vidoc, but it was really early build stuff.
- beand1p, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4ditto
- Kr4t05, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4No... Think harder.... Doctor Emmet Brown of the Back to the Future series...
Pssh... - briansearles, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4My junior, here.
- cderry, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4Yes, I've played Halo 1 and 2 a lot and I'm a huge fan of both games. But I know Bungie got into hot water because they didn't use in-game graphics to make some promotional "footage" for conferences before they released Halo 2. Look at those promotions and look at Halo 2's in-game graphics and you'll notice a big difference.
- Cannfodd3r, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3I'm so glad we got into game design...
- HBNDonut, on 10/11/2007, -2/+5Shhhh! :P

- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -3/+6too bad your company sucks.
- imikedaman, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2He clearly said he wants in-game HUD screens of the campaign, not the cutscenes where Bungie is known to use higher-resolution models and effects.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -4/+6Not sure how anyone could ever expect it not to, Halo 2 had graphics head and shoulders above any other Xbox game I saw (especially in 480p). Don't see why Halo 3 should be any different.
[I also bought my Xbox a week before Halo 2 and it's the only Xbox game I ever owned, so don't be too hard if I'm way off base here] - fanclerks, on 10/11/2007, -2/+4Sweet! A new desktop background!
- Myonosken, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3Resistance is OK, but I don't think brown palettes and dark rooms can really be called "good graphics".
- cderry, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Thanks imikedaman. I wish someone was around to tell afx1 to learn to read.
- domokunt, on 10/11/2007, -7/+9:o
- NerdyNinja, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Or I guess Bungie actually DID say so then. Right on.
- Salmar, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3I concur.

And look below at jackpot's link!
http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a159/lordbill/H3_WSJ_CHIEF.jpg - UnleashChaos, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2*****, look a few comments up. Bungie has already stated that clouds are rendered in 3D.
- anonymousabe, on 10/11/2007, -4/+6Hail to the Chief is right.
- mashw, on 10/11/2007, -2/+4A dev on NeoGaf confirmed this is absolutely 100% in game. The campaign has a screenshot mode too apparently and if you position the camera just right you would be able to replicate this exactly when you get the game.
-Not a bullshot
-Single player will look better than multiplayer (especially the beta)
edit: D'oh Inferno beat me to it. - battletrax, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1had the best graphics? it had above average for xbox..
the best was
cough chronicles of riddick cough
but i still love halo with or without fancy graphics. - jeet404, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1How about flip off your manager and come home look at the screenshot, while looking for another job?
- S3dative, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1I could care less about the graphics. I just hope it plays well.
- AwesomeMonster, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Look at his icon... i think he may be a little bit biased.
- mashw, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2In game. Player positioned camera.
- pathy, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2Mmm... It doesn't look right to me. Alas, it could just be the position of the lightsource that's shining on his right making it look a little odd. Still, looks great.
