- SteveThePlank, on 11/14/2007, -2/+23What I'm really interested in is whether they'll update Halo 1 to have an online multiplayer mode, like they have for stuff like Gauntlet etc in the XBL Arcade. This is the perfect opportunity for Bungie to do what many, many fans really want.
- thenewnoise, on 11/14/2007, -2/+21For $15 i could go buy it used and not have to worry about the space on the 20gb hard drive.
- humpback, on 11/13/2007, -2/+11Yes, let's all wet our collective pants for the opportunity to buy games we've already paid for!
- MrM1yagi, on 11/14/2007, -2/+11Now if you could only play Halo:CE on Live with this...
- Aiwanei, on 11/14/2007, -1/+9Oh Noes! now you posted the exact same thing basically as you did in the other article, hypocrite :P
- Postalwrker27, on 11/13/2007, -3/+10WTF!? This comment has already been posted on this page! Jesus, people just wanna be popular at the sake of looking like a retard I suppose.....No really, shut up.
- mywhitenoise, on 11/14/2007, -2/+8In your dreams, Nintendo is not going to release an external HD, especially for GC games.
- inactive, on 11/14/2007, -0/+5What is wrong with the interface?
- ubergeek09, on 11/14/2007, -0/+4That's pretty cool, but if they made Halo online, then oh my gosh the amazingness.
- inactive, on 11/14/2007, -1/+5I have a theory that the only reason so many people like Halo 1 so much is the nostalgia(like going back and playing goldeneye).... In addition, people liked it because they only played with their friends in real life. Xbox live made it much 'harder' because you play against people who are as good as you.
- rootnik, on 11/13/2007, -1/+5Yeah, because Nintendo has made a habit out of copying what MS does with the Xbox.
- estvir, on 11/14/2007, -1/+5No, they won't.
- Christbait, on 11/14/2007, -0/+3Halo 2 and 3 = Stinky. Halo 1 = Classic.
- hollismb, on 11/14/2007, -0/+3No it doesn't. Halo on the XBOX had only system link. Sure, you could use tunneling software to play online, but that was just faking local network play. You may be confusing Halo (XBOX) with Halo CE (PC), which did have online play.
- Christbait, on 11/14/2007, -0/+3Some games are still full price, Morrowind is around $30-40 (but it's rare).. and GTA Trilogy Box Set is still around full price, oddly enough.
- logicbus, on 11/14/2007, -0/+3What about slow summer months when you don't feel like playing any of the games you got the last Fall, and when a (crappy) Live Arcade game just doesn't cut it? Downloading an original Xbox game (I've been thinking about buying a copy of Halo since I traded it in years ago, and I never played Psychonauts) sounds like a great middle option.
And if you don't want it, don't buy it! - aelias, on 11/14/2007, -0/+2I highly doubt Halo will be online. I remember a Bungie emp on their message board explain something about the networking code just isn't in the game, as it predates XBL by over a year and a half.
XBConnect, as mentioned above, could be cool. But if you're a Halo fan, at all, don't you already have a copy sitting there? - Kinsbane, on 11/13/2007, -0/+2Fable and Burnout 3.
Well, I'm sold. - inactive, on 11/14/2007, -8/+10Wow... kind of makes downloading original NES games even PSOne games a little outdated. I'm starting to think I might need a bigger HD than the 20gb I have.
- dethsesh, on 11/14/2007, -5/+7nfl 2k5 please!
- NailToTheX, on 11/13/2007, -1/+3I dont know why people find this news so exciting... its ok news, but it is just playing XBox 1 games from download instead of from DVD... If the games are changed/updated to suit XBL, well then it is a bit more interesting.
- Pillage, on 11/14/2007, -0/+2I'm sure Microsoft thinks you need a bigger hard-drive to.
- ArtemisRising, on 11/14/2007, -0/+1Seconded.
- Ev3nt372, on 11/13/2007, -0/+1Only worth it if Halo:CE is updated with live.
- CrimsonBlur, on 11/13/2007, -0/+1It depends on what option you chose. There's an option to download ALL XBLA games you haven't downloaded, or just new releases from the time you activate it. Even if you downloaded the demo of every XBLA game released so far, I doubt it would fill up the 20GB HDD (unless you already have a ton of stuff on there of course).
- kriminalintent, on 11/13/2007, -0/+1will it have xbox live support? i think thats well worth 15$
- nirav72, on 11/13/2007, -0/+1Damn..and here I thought the new dashboard update will include support for DivX/Xvid videos. I can play old xbox games on the 360 just fine.
They're like $10 at Gamestop or E3. Why would I download a 4 gig game and fill up my puny 10gb hd? Not everyone owns a black 360 with a 120 gb drive you know. - Jinno, on 11/13/2007, -0/+1Louis Wu of HBO's giving us a definite no. So apparently he's got an inside scoop of it.
- MrTankJump, on 11/13/2007, -2/+3Actually, because Halo is still such a good game, the price is still around $20
- B3nno, on 11/14/2007, -0/+1I relish the competition.
- Midnightrambler, on 11/13/2007, -0/+1I wish they would at least make 2k5 backwards compatible, I'm holding on to my copy in the hopes that some day it will happen. 2k5 is the best Football game ever made.
- mtzadogg, on 11/16/2007, -0/+1I WANNA SEE THAT SCARFACE GAME BEFORE ANY OTHER PILES OF SHIEEEEEOT gets rereleased
- Irvulous, on 11/13/2007, -0/+1It would not be the same in Halo 2 or 3. Different engines and weapons are different.
- Thorpe, on 11/15/2007, -0/+1Indigo Phophecy is a great game. Something different out of the bag. I recommend it.
- Cerebral, on 11/13/2007, -0/+1No. The only thing you can setup to auto-download is the XBLA games and even then you have to go into XBLA in order for the downloads to start. There was a site that I had seen once that listed all the free content (which changes pretty regularly) but I cannot seem to find it anymore.
- gamerzworld, on 11/13/2007, -0/+11. Add in-game dashboard support to them
2. Add online multiplayer to them (Halo)
3. Add achievements (Maybe)
Add those features to the games and they will sell like hot cakes. Otherwise, people will just go and buy a used copy. - trunk8, on 11/13/2007, -0/+1What does this mean for backwards compatibility? I hope they don't stop development of backwards compatibility updates, I really have no desire to re-purchase my original Xbox titles if I already own the disc....
- KingGoonie, on 11/13/2007, -0/+1Oh yea! I forgot about platinum hits lol. I dunno. All I know is gamestop has it used for 25, not sure how much new (if they even still have anymore new) and I was like wow... thats a bit pricey...
- Godlesswanderer, on 11/13/2007, -0/+1I doubt it. It seems like more or less a straight port, not a re-make.
- bouche, on 11/13/2007, -0/+1i guess you guys missed the Xbox update news on the front page an hour ago.
- fallenone05, on 11/13/2007, -1/+2Why would anyone be excited for Halo 1? I'm already playing it with prettier graphics, it's called Halo 3.
- whatthefu, on 11/13/2007, -2/+3This is pretty ***** awesome, and not just the thing about Halo. But will there be online play?
- Chirp08, on 11/13/2007, -0/+1Thank god, I thought this was just a joke when I read it the first time. Than the second time I read it on the front page I was thinking deja vu, but now, this time, the third time, it must mean its news!
- HolyChimp, on 11/14/2007, -0/+1I think it's safe to say they stopped a while ago.
Not sure when the last update was, but I think it was quite some time ago. - darkstar949, on 11/13/2007, -1/+2Why, oh why did they decide to do this during the middle of finals for most college students? I foresee many low scores this year for many college students.
- cplex, on 11/14/2007, -0/+1Then*
- hollismb, on 11/13/2007, -0/+1Halo was also a Platinum Hits title. Best Buy has it listed for 9.99. I know Target carries it too. Saw it in store the other day.
- thejwac, on 11/13/2007, -1/+2Will they only release games that exist on the backwards compatibility list? They need to update that thing again. I really want to play this copy of Beyond Good & Evil I bought for 2 dollars.
- briguymaine, on 11/13/2007, -1/+1God I hope this isn't the only thing coming with the Fall Update. Sure this might be cool, I'm just not into playing the old games in low res, with no achievement points (I'm a whore I know.) I was just hoping for more functionality, IPTV, more codec options in the UPnP media server, free live, etc.
- DavidGuetta9, on 11/13/2007, -2/+2rugby 06 please. or how about just making rugby 08 for the 360?
