- username9000, on 10/10/2007, -7/+87XVID SUPPORT!!!! Forget it. If this happens the PS3 is officially toast.
- airiox, on 10/10/2007, -2/+82If by xvid support they mean .avi support, I will kiss the ground Microsoft walks on. In the mean time, I havent been able to find a decen wmv converter, anyone know of a good one?
- Toast1185, on 10/10/2007, -4/+54I still can't figure out why the heck people would want a browser on a console. On my list of desired functions, that is so low.
- lastrite, on 10/10/2007, -4/+42Xvid support . . . yeah right.
- toppgun, on 10/10/2007, -2/+37i was them to make the 18 year old accounts fully activated already. I registered before I turned 18 and was truthful about my age and I got cheated for that.
Make my account a full adult member! - posure, on 10/10/2007, -1/+34Dedicated XBLA blade and XBLA favorites? Awesome.
Now wheres my multi-user private chat? - stung47000, on 10/10/2007, -1/+34In contrast to past updates this actually looks pretty huge to me (if true). I mean, IPTV, Clan Support, DVD PiP. These are pretty substantial upgrades. Sounds great to me, I hope it's accurate!
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+31Divx, clan, IPTV, PiP... too good to be true.
- TheFlood16, on 10/10/2007, -1/+25DivX support is pretty big. Clan support would be cool too; just in time for Halo 3.
- mywhitenoise, on 10/10/2007, -1/+24Or it means Sony will have more incentive to put DIVX support into their firmware. ***** wmvs, and mpegs, I want avis!
- chaosdude78, on 10/10/2007, -1/+21here are some pics from the clan "blade":

Cool, how about you give the games and the system for free if you're going to push ads in my face? - Nobi-Wan, on 10/10/2007, -3/+20Dude, if you're online in Xbox Live you most likely have a computer nearby. It beats having to exit out of the game, check Gamefaqs, then log back in.
- venom8599, on 10/10/2007, -0/+17Well, if it was actually IPTV, it would be over the Internet.
- ghostlywind, on 10/10/2007, -2/+17Whoever decide to support xvid on the 360 at microsoft i want to give a hug to.
- UberC, on 10/10/2007, -10/+23DivX support? Buried as inaccurate
- bdub92, on 10/10/2007, -2/+14Just you something like Transcode360 if you are streaming for windows media center, or Tversity to stream videos on the fly without using media center/
- nreynolds, on 10/10/2007, -0/+12most of it sounds like stuff that doesn't interest me at all but the clan stuff sounds interesting. Recently, Bungie said Halo 3 isn't going to use the clan system, is this because Microsoft is implementing their own clan system? Are we going to be able to have 1 clan for multiple games? sounds interesting...
- LycoLoco, on 10/10/2007, -1/+13My guess is that if they allow for divx/xvid support, they're trying to beat out the homebrew community like they were unable to do against Xbox Media Center. Granted, it will pale in comparison, but it's still a start. I'm hoping this is true!
- dantidote, on 10/10/2007, -1/+13PRAISE JEEBUS!! about damn time, even before the 360's launch i wanted divx/xvid.
- EricJD, on 10/10/2007, -7/+18Not another blade!
- fanclerks, on 10/10/2007, -2/+13That's the one part of that list that makes me hesitate to believe it's real. Hasn't Microsoft said on the record that they won't ever support DivX or XviD because they "know what it's used for"?
- EvilCan, on 02/26/2008, -4/+15The only things on this list that gets me excited is the Xvid support and estimated timer for downloads. Everything else is just kinda there.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+10http://happybeggar.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=60&Itemid=2
simple batch script with vlc. - surf314, on 10/10/2007, -3/+13Wow if this is true my Linux ps3 will cease to justify itself. As of now I just play ps2 games on it.
- zzz@tkz, on 10/10/2007, -0/+10Clans would be nice, I'm running out of room on my friends list (3 spots left) .
- Vaux, on 10/10/2007, -2/+12As much as I would like Xvid to be supported, it ain't happening.
- Lewisham, on 10/10/2007, -2/+12This list is too good to be true.
- samssf, on 10/10/2007, -1/+10Hah, I call BS
- Louisd11, on 10/10/2007, -2/+10"New estimated timer for downloads, informing how long download will expect to take"
Because Microsoft has been able to calculate the download times accurately. - LycoLoco, on 10/10/2007, -3/+11Who's your source? Where's your proof?
- itsburnsie, on 10/10/2007, -1/+8I've been using Win AVI to encode all of my videos to WMV. It works pretty well. You can get it at http://www.winavi.com/
- s1mph0ny, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7I'm hoping that this list is legit, and not just a wish-list.
- Rodman930, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7Fianally, I can watch all of my porn on the big screen. (you know you're all thinking it)
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+8Same here, the only problem is converting AVI to DVD is a pain :(.
- s1mph0ny, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6Apparently somebody hasn't been hugging their English teacher.
- ReCkLeSsX, on 10/10/2007, -3/+9All I want is them to update my child hotmail account, already...
- s1mph0ny, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6Congratulations, you win a complimentary free stay on my block list...
- s1mph0ny, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6Honestly I don't see why. Microsoft could even release the source to any changes they make for use on the powerpc architecture. What would it hurt them?
- woody56292, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6those were already proven to be fake mockups. look at trixie's gamerscore, it isn't that high.
- battletrax, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6# Themes can now be animated
# Themes may now have sound effects
Thats a little exciting. - Whaines, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6Wow, look at you being so clever with your $ for an S. That's because Microsoft makes alot of money, right? Oh, you're so clever.
- Rupan, on 10/10/2007, -2/+7Oh god please be true. Please please please. I love my PS3 but if the 360 gets this, I will only ever use it for games and 360 will be my new Multimedia Box
- Bfettmaul, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5If this stuff is true. YAY.
If it isn't true. I bet MS has some fun surprises in store. - ricodued, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5Like venoms said, it's over the internet. They demoed this a while ago, I've been anxiously waiting for it.
- avatar28, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6What are you talking about? They delayed it because, at the time the 360 was first released, not many TVs had HDMI ports and since they were already losing a lot of money on each console sold anyways, why lose that much more more to include a feature that very very few people would use. Even if it only added, say, $10 to the cost of the system that would be another $100 million hit they would have taken on the consoles. The Hollywood studios would much prefer you to have HDMI since it supports their draconian copy protection schemes.
- smiley2billion, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5They do give away the content.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6I'm really excited about the clan thing, that would be a huge step forward for Xbox Live.
- javip, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5maybe one day
- Room101, on 10/10/2007, -4/+8Doesn't this seem a bit unrealistic: "IPTV Functionality - support for TiVo like PVR options. Will be able to record TV direct. Options include source by channel, director, actor and distributor"
Wouldn't it need a TV input (not output) in order to record TV direct? -
