Just for reference to non-gamers/Fable-players, you never could assassinate kids, but your kids could be assassinated by other people.
That said, what the hell is wrong with Lionhead? Maybe they should release a patch so that your dog can no longer get injured. I mean, that's really sad, and no one should ever hurt a cute little puppy. Hell, he's like your best friend, and I honestly think it'd be better if they just removed dog injuries from the game. I should never be exposed to anything pleasant in a game. That would suck. Now that we've gotten "I should never be permitted to do bad things" (offing non-combatants is fair game, though. It doesn't offend many people, so obviously it's alright... right?) out of the way, let's move onto "I should never witness bad things or have any misfortune befall me, those around me, or children."

I'm sad to not see that listed among the patch fixes. I've lost my in-game wife twice (in fact, I can't find her at the moment), and it's happened to virtually everyone else I know who plays the game.

Yahtzee hit the nail on the head when he complained that even though there were tons of things to do in Fable2, WHY would you do any of them?
And just like in the original Fable, as soon as you learn level 5 Lightning, the game can be played on auto-pilot.

- inactive, on 12/06/2008, -0/+8Well at least I can still force my hooker wife to follow me through a cave of hobbs (all the while her remarking on my being a murderer) and afterwards when i get the divorce popup I can still target my hooker-wife and pull out my blunderbuss and shoot her between the eyes. As she cartwheels backwards and the game pauses once again to tell me that social services are taking my child away I will shed a sigh of relief knowing that as I have not patched the game my prodigy will not escape it's grim fate by means of social intervention.
No half-measure will stop people using your games potential to release their inner demons in a creative way.

I just want to be able to run over women with baby carriages and *****. Is that really too much to ask for, devs? Damn... If I knew that Fable 2 lets you assassinate kids, I would have bought it when it first came out.
