- James2008, on 10/11/2007, -2/+30XBMC 360 For the win!
- RCcola159, on 10/11/2007, -0/+8You have to pay $99 to play "XNA" games on your 360, son. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/XNA_Game_Studio_Express
- Juntistik, on 10/11/2007, -0/+7Its a hobby you idiot.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -1/+8very nice, i like
- jdoc, on 10/11/2007, -1/+8waaaat, you need the key? That's easy! 09-F9... o wait
- serpentor, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6How does your laptop output HD video feed to your HDTV??
- mlapaglia, on 10/11/2007, -2/+8oh man, it just keeps getting better and better. keep up the awesome work, i can't wait until some viable homebrew comes to the 360!
- mancat, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5You're a joker.
- gamehunter101, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4awesome job,can't wait
- chris9902, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4So in affect they've already banned you.
- Talus, on 10/11/2007, -3/+7I won't hold my breath .. but I would LOVE to have XBMC 360. Until then, XBMC will do me just fine.
- indirect, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3i kid, but at a supposed 30% failure rate it makes you wonder.
- XaN3, on 10/11/2007, -4/+6Nice this is totaly sweet i cant wait for the xbox 360 to be totaly modded
- nmckinlay, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2He uses a Pentium-M based SHUTTLE, not a Laptop.
- Protoss, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3Until of course Microsoft patches this somehow...Even the most insane exploits are usually patched, just look at the PSP.
- WolfDV, on 10/11/2007, -5/+7 ***** awsome progress towards an ultimate 360 hack . . props to these guys !
"if they somehow manage to find a way to get the 'CPU Key' out of your Xbox 360 - it looks like it's "game over" for our friends at Microsoft."
Excellent - sneakerelph, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3I don't believe you. A timing device to have an xbox fail?
I smell a class action lawsuit coming for MS. - chris9902, on 10/11/2007, -2/+4Until they ban you from XBL because your firmware is out of date making the 360 worthless.
What's the point of having one without Live? - kazamx, on 10/11/2007, -2/+3My Xbox 360 is still sitting in its box. I got it a few weeks after it came out so I got the earliest version possible. I can't to make sure its as easy to upgrade as possible when these guy have it working.
- Juntistik, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1seems like great news all around for both the xbox360 scene and psp scene, Keep up the great work guys!
- pegisys, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1I loved xbmc too, but the xbox360 is loud, runs hot, and uses more power then what a dedicated HTPC/mediacenter PC would. Probably cost more too.
but it is a great gaming machine - kinstray, on 10/11/2007, -2/+3Yet another body blow for Microsoft! Yippee! Get in there. You guys amaze me.
- xturmn8r, on 10/11/2007, -3/+4It looks as if linux is already on the 360; http://www.free60.org/wiki/Main_Page I can't wait for a few things: 65 nm 360 processors (ie: quieter), a price drop on the core, and xbmc 360 (ie: HD XBMC).
- mlapaglia, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1it's very limited right now though, and requires you to have a specific dashboard version in order to work. it'll happen sooner or later though ;)
- m00nstone, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2I spent some time arguing with people over the efuse, protesting that the scene would find a way around it. This is vindication. So, as I've said before. These guys are brilliant. Now, it's just a matter for time.... the 360 homebrew scene is going to be great.
- fanclerks, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Not just the $99, but also, the XNA wouldn't allow us to have a version of XBMC. If anything, I think that's the one thing that most people want. Screw using Transcode360 to play DivX on my 360, I want it to be played right off the machine.
- Evi1d33d, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1XBMC on the old Xbox is fine but it'll start choking when you try to run HD videos (except low bitrate divx ones).
- addictedd, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1well there is a new hack for the psp out now, and consoles will continually have new exploits due to bad coding from large corporate companies :p
- heew00t, on 10/11/2007, -2/+3So we make a better online system for hackers that's free or cheaper than XBL.
- btgoss, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1This is all I want, I really don't even play that many games on the 360, but XBMC360 with my HD TV would be awesome.... no reason to get an Apple TV.
- adz999, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1Haha Gullop i don't know how you see people that hack crack and mod, but you will find 9 times out of 10 they have got very high paid jobs, and most of the time degrees =]
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -2/+2You wont get banned because you can't connect to live unless you have the most up-to-date kernel.
- nephilimx, on 10/11/2007, -2/+1will the mod chip company who finds it allow it to be public? Thats the problem. I remember when orginal xbox, the orginal chip maker who cracked it didnt allow the code to be released, was only 2 years later publicly other companys found it
- Hangender, on 10/11/2007, -3/+1and..you will get banned from xbox live.
- indirect, on 10/11/2007, -7/+3But don't forget about Microsoft's secret plan to find consoles that have been modified. Consoles are routinely sent signals to cause the 3 red light errors so they can be sent back and inspected. There is also a timing device inside the consoles to have them fail at some random interval.
- wageslaven, on 10/11/2007, -12/+3Xbox 360 Homebrew? XNA Game Studio Express FTW son.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/XNA_Game_Studio_Express - fjc8, on 10/11/2007, -13/+3XBMC 360? No thanks... the Xbox 360 is too loud/too much power consumption for me, when my HDTV already uses 250w.
I decided to go with a Pentium M-based Shuttle for my HD movie playing. With a Pentium M at 2.0GHz or higher, it handles all HD movies (HD-DVD and Blu-ray) except high-bitrate h264, which the GeForce 8500/8600 and Radeon HD2400/HD2600 will decode. (I use a 8500GT). It's a great idea if you have an old laptop with a Pentium M CPU & want a quiet, low-power computer. I haven't measured power usage with a real video card, but the system uses 35-50w while using the integrated graphics. - Gullop, on 10/11/2007, -12/+1Why don't these people use their expertise and knowledge to better uses? Like a good job....
