- kineticmonkey, on 12/03/2008, -15/+134Yeah, there's no way Fable 2 beats out Gears.
- xwater, on 12/03/2008, -17/+136how did fable 2 win?
i didnt think it was all that great..... - Vindicoth, on 12/03/2008, -1/+115Before another person says " Fallout 3 " or " GTA: IV " this is a list of Xbox 360 Exclusives.
- bonk2k, on 12/03/2008, -4/+80Interesting how 3/5 are from the market place, and not physical disc and box games.
- strictnein, on 12/03/2008, -2/+47RTFA
This is just a list of Xbox 360 exclusives. - apothekari, on 12/03/2008, -23/+67Was NOT impressed with Fable 1 1/2, Fallout was much better.
- roxya, on 12/03/2008, -2/+43Fable 2 did great in the media but gamers were generally less impressed with it.
Castle Crashers would have deserved that place if it wasn't broken.
Just to be clear, this is a top 5 of exclusive games, not the best 5 games on 360 (otherwise Fallout 3 would have been here!) - KowGawd, on 12/03/2008, -1/+35RTFA! First two lines.... XBox exclusives!
- chewbacca77, on 12/03/2008, -6/+34I'm glad Braid made the list. It is definitely the most amazing, thought-provoking, and unique game I've ever played.
- ethanpeirce, on 12/03/2008, -1/+25This list is *****.
- jhk115, on 12/03/2008, -15/+35I agree, I found Fallout 3 to be a much better game.
- tawnos, on 12/03/2008, -14/+34Really? Fable 2 is the best game of this year... I find that hard to believe...
- jefrim, on 12/03/2008, -0/+19Did you read the article at all? Xbox 360 exclusives only.
- mattyboy555, on 12/03/2008, -1/+20cuddly puppies 5 was better
- eedok, on 12/03/2008, -2/+21Braid and Castle Crashers are the games that had me dust off my 360 and finally play it, good to see them finally getting recognition
- cptmichael101st, on 12/03/2008, -0/+19but the plural of ox is oxen, is it not?
- inactive, on 12/03/2008, -1/+18Apparently no one knows how to read either
1. the article
2. your comment - jwcorder, on 12/03/2008, -1/+13For the sarcastically challenged....
“Brian, how do you make a word a plural?”
“You put a ‘s’…put a ‘s’ at the end of it.”
“When?”
“On weekends and holidays.”
“No, Brian. Let me show you.” So she asked this kid who knew everything. Irwin. “Irwin, what’s the plural for ox?”
“Ox. Oxen. The farmer used his oxen.”
“Brian?”
“What?”
“Brian, what’s the plural for box?”
“Boxen. I bought 2 boxen of doughnuts.”
“No, Brian, no. Let’s try another one. Irwin, what’s the plural for goose?”
“Geese. I saw a flock of geese.”
“Brian?”
[Exasperated laughing]“Wha-a-at?”
“What’s the plural for moose?”
“Moosen! I saw a flock of MOOSEN! There were many of ‘em. Many much moosen. Out in the woods…in the wood-es…in the woodsen. The meese want the food in the woodesen…food is the eatenesen…the meese want the food in the woodesenes…food in the woodesenes. - fanshanable, on 12/03/2008, -0/+11I have two boxen of donuts
- iamsmooth, on 12/03/2008, -0/+10Except Fable 2 was first. What the hell? It's the exact same game, even the plot is so similar. It just has miniscule changes to the gameplay. I could have replayed Fable 1 and enjoyed it just as much...
Plot analysis:
1. Something tragic happens to your family
2. You become a hero
3. You go through a colliseum-like battle in order to accomplish something
4. You're captured/held for a long time
5. You kill the villain
The end, same plot... - GramarNazi, on 12/03/2008, -1/+10Fable 2 should be on the list, but not that high up.
- OstrakonX, on 12/03/2008, -1/+9I really think this year saved the 360/PS3 for me. I'm looking at a stack of PS3 and 360 games, glad that I own both systems.
I look at my Wii, though...
God dammit, Nintendo. - Zerohawk, on 12/03/2008, -1/+9I don't think you had to play it again. I mean, it was just long enough to get its point across without getting old. Knowing when to stop is an important part of any creative art, and Braid is one of the best examples of video games as art because it knew when enough was enough.
- cmsjustin, on 12/03/2008, -0/+8This list sucks
- slim5234, on 12/03/2008, -0/+8Try it high.
- TheHammar, on 12/03/2008, -2/+9@jhk115: this list is for games exclusive to xbox
- sprotacular, on 12/03/2008, -4/+11Braid is by far the best xbox exclusive of the year. By far.
And no love for Ikaruga?? D: - Vertabraille, on 12/03/2008, -0/+7But not a 360 exclusive.
- inactive, on 12/03/2008, -1/+8Yeah, Fable 2 as many people have pointed out, is like a Fable 1 expansion.
- inactive, on 12/03/2008, -0/+7*Idiot making a comment about a non-exclusive*
That Castle Crashers description was like a knife in the side, online WOULD be fun if the game wasn't STILL broken. - ipushmycar, on 12/03/2008, -1/+8good things dont always come in packages.
yet downloads. - Mysticcal, on 12/03/2008, -0/+6Fable 2 was fun..
except for
anticlimatic ending. - Snoosy, on 12/03/2008, -3/+9It was.
Until you beat it once and never play it again. - Bisclavret, on 12/03/2008, -3/+9I'm glad Rez HD got some love.
- designerutah, on 12/03/2008, -1/+7To be fair, when the submitter titles the submission "Best of 2008: Top 5 games for XBOX" it's human nature to ASSUME it's the best of ALL XBOX games. I know what they say about assuming, but it's still going to happen. So a big negative for misleading title by the submitter, eh?
- terrrrrible, on 12/03/2008, -0/+6Dugg for Castle Crashers.
- bagboyrebel, on 12/03/2008, -1/+7Is Rez HD really that good? I played the demo and it didn't seem like something that could keep my interest. So I guess I'm asking if the demo is a good indication of the rest of the game.
- synergye, on 12/03/2008, -1/+6RTFA; Xbox 360 exclusives only.
- toasterweasel, on 12/03/2008, -1/+6I'm Ron Burgundy?
- drewfer, on 12/03/2008, -1/+6This is a real ***** list
- inactive, on 12/03/2008, -0/+5Or at least turn it up to 11.
- Rhendal, on 12/03/2008, -0/+5Games that are on XBox Live are still games, you realize.
- dhVyse, on 12/03/2008, -1/+5Agreed 100%.
- snoogit, on 12/03/2008, -0/+4Shows the strength of XBLA this year.
- Rhendal, on 12/03/2008, -0/+4The best part about the game is figuring out the puzzles that are in each level. Some of them make you really think outside the box. Watching a Youtube video really ruins that experience. It'd be like playing Rez with no sound.
- Minivolt, on 12/03/2008, -0/+4I wish Braid will be ported to PC.
- Zerohawk, on 12/03/2008, -0/+4The three XBLA games, though, are some of the best games on the system. Just because I didn't have to pay $60 for a boxed copy of the game doesn't make it automatically worse.
Digital Distribution doesn't deserve the stigma against it that its somehow lesser than traditional distribution any more than independent music or movies deserve to be considered lesser than big media's release. - cardyology, on 12/03/2008, -2/+6you become an hero?
- inactive, on 12/03/2008, -0/+4awesomely hard – it's not really a remake though, more of a port (though people can argue the same about Rez)
- JustinHopewell, on 12/03/2008, -0/+4It gets a lot better, but its a lot more enjoyable with the lights off, the sound up, and maybe some other way to immerse yourself in it (see slim's comment for more information).
