- MeThePeople, on 10/18/2007, -1/+43the forbes website sucks
- jtorkbob, on 10/18/2007, -1/+28"this castle, built in 1212, sits on 20 acres"
20 acres? If I buy a castle, I need enough room to fire my 20lb canons without bugging the neighbors. Sheesh. - mindsnare, on 10/17/2007, -0/+23I really wish Forbes would take their ***** website out of 1998, pissy sized photos, horrible usability.
- Parkeway, on 10/16/2007, -1/+13Next up: "World's Hungriest Children"
otherwise known as "Better Things To Do With Your Billions" - rejoined, on 10/16/2007, -0/+11And miss the welcome screen?!
/sarc - HUKI365, on 10/16/2007, -1/+10Yes, Digg is the place for frat boys like you: but for "*****'s" sake learn a new "*****" adjective.
- inactive, on 10/17/2007, -0/+8Judging by your alias I'd say you're the person for the job.
- inactive, on 10/16/2007, -0/+8Yeah but the big drawback is...you're in Mississippi.
- OneManArmy, on 10/16/2007, -0/+8The problem is not only how much it costs but how much it costs to maintain these houses. You need an army to clean that amount of rooms!!
- slapded, on 10/16/2007, -1/+8worst. website. ever.
- cryptomystic, on 10/16/2007, -0/+7Does anybody really need a house so big that you get lost in it? isn't there better ways of spending your fortune then this?
Utter waste. - gordonf238, on 10/17/2007, -2/+9Has Forbes nothing else to do other than constantly write about the most expensive cars, the richest people, and biggest homes? Who cares? They might as well rename themselves to "Magazine about stuff you'll likely never have"
- inactive, on 10/16/2007, -0/+6anyone know how much Bill Gates' house goes for??
- Msoltanian, on 10/16/2007, -2/+7$165 Million? Who the ***** has that type of money. *****, I'm in the wrong ***** business.

- 11Heather, on 10/16/2007, -0/+4Go straight to the pics slideshow end of 2nd pg: www.forbes.com/2007/02/21/homes-expensive-world-forbeslife-cx_mw_0222mostexpensivehomes_2.html - link: "In Pictures: Most Expensive Homes In The World"
Amazing pics and prices! - nathanaver, on 10/17/2007, -0/+4Zillow says $135,773,040. http://www.zillow.com/HomeDetails.htm?zprop=491188 ...
- Deane, on 10/16/2007, -4/+7Much more important -- why do Forbes' slide shows suck so much? What a wretch experience, trying to move through all those pictures. Biggest pain in the ass of my day so far. So much so, that I blogged about the overwhelming suckiness of it:
http://gadgetopia.com/post/6114 - silverchrysalis, on 10/16/2007, -1/+4meh. i'd still take a little hobbit house any day
- silverchrysalis, on 10/16/2007, -0/+3shameless
- mcraigw, on 10/16/2007, -0/+3Yeah, and Playboy, etc. should rename themselves to "Magazine about women you'll never have sex with".
Or for anal English majors: "Magazine about women with which you will never have sex." - wittzo, on 10/16/2007, -0/+3Dang, not one of them has wheels on it. I'd get me a two-storey double-wide, they build them for folks that's got money. :) But really, a lot of the cost is non-useable fluff and jacked up construction labor. I would be happy with a house that only cost a paltry million. I live in Mississippi where you can get eight times the house for your money than California or Aspen and still be able to privately pee off your back porch. :)
- IShouldBeWorkin, on 10/16/2007, -0/+3i swear to god that first one is the house from the beverly hillbillies movie!
- azpaz, on 10/16/2007, -0/+2Christ, that $99 million one is just round the corner from me. Hmm I must pop over and borrow a cup of sugar!
- idc5, on 10/16/2007, -1/+3I wonder if the owner's would even qualify for a sub-prime loan nowadays..
- tizz66, on 10/16/2007, -0/+2It'd be nice to have such an amazing house, but I'd be worried I'd feel lonely in it - even if I was surrounded by other people. It'd be like walking around a deserted hotel on your own. I think sometimes it'd be possible to have *too much* space. It'd feel so empty.
Personally, on the size scale, I think something about half the size of those would be good. Big, but not ridiculous. - tritiumpie, on 10/16/2007, -0/+2BURIED, because the Forbes site sucks. Crappy sites like that should get instant burial on Digg.
- inactive, on 10/16/2007, -0/+2They have more abuse of popups and transparent Flash than any other site. Absolute crap. Why do users tolerate it?
- Kazbaeden, on 10/17/2007, -0/+2Romanian prince Vlad the Impaler.... holy *****, I would NOT want to mess with that guy.
- Poovey, on 10/17/2007, -0/+1Geez, I am so embarrassed. They have my Beverly Hills vacation house in here.
- JustLaNavigator, on 10/16/2007, -0/+1I got bored waiting to watch the video.
WHY ARE THERE SOO MANY ADVERTS? - silverchrysalis, on 10/16/2007, -0/+1sugar grown on the backs of virgins, ground with diamonds, stored in platinum canisters?
- DrMonkeyLove, on 10/16/2007, -1/+2Shouldn't it be "with whom..." ?
Actually, you could just rename Forbes and Playboy and just call them both Yuppie *****. - floridiot2, on 10/16/2007, -0/+1That would be hilarious to get lost in your own house. Then starve to death in a darkened corner. Hah.
- techmit, on 05/15/2008, -0/+0whoo! go gold coast
http://www.bigdecks.com.au - epuiatti, on 10/16/2007, -2/+2I live just round the corner from here, this is in Hertfordshire
- jtorkbob, on 10/16/2007, -1/+1s/amount/number
- surgictube, on 02/19/2008, -0/+0THAT *****'S BALLER. 8)
- Fluffiness, on 10/16/2007, -1/+1On top of the obvious absurdity of it all, you could just build a high rise office building and call it a "house". Most of these are basically fancy hotels that just happened to be owned by one person. Kind of lame.
- surgictube, on 02/19/2008, -0/+0If you had enough change for one of those houses, it would likely not be your only estate. You'd buy it to show off your penis size and spend your time in an upscale condo.
- surgictube, on 02/19/2008, -0/+0Nah, I think this is the best way to spend my fortune. I should get some nice cars too.
- koven, on 10/16/2007, -1/+1"29 bedrooms and 40 bathrooms."
I've never understood this. Surely you'd need, at the most, an equal amount. - reddikilowatt, on 10/16/2007, -2/+1Hala Ranch in Aspen is cable ready. I know the guy who installed it.
- HamHead, on 10/17/2007, -2/+0around 50 mil.
- johnleenox, on 10/16/2007, -7/+1I don't know about that. I never though that i am able to own one!
This is the rich people's game.
