- kevincross, on 10/10/2007, -3/+37aside from being large i don't find anything particularly compelling about the image.
- Notsafetoeat, on 10/10/2007, -0/+22Enhance. Enhance. Enhance
- gibler, on 10/10/2007, -1/+18what? no naked chicks in any of the windows??!! fake.
- Noobuntu, on 10/10/2007, -0/+14You can zoom in close enough to see what brand of window air conditioner the apartments in the far back have. :o

http://research.microsoft.com/ivm/HDView/HowDone/howdone.htm - blackb0x, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8Wouldn't Google Maps be the largest panoramic?
- uptown, on 10/10/2007, -0/+82045 images merged
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7i saw a ghost person, too.
- SeaMowse, on 10/10/2007, -1/+8WOW! I could even see a couple holding hands, and that they were wearing t-shirts and jeans. The details were amazing.
- driftersgold, on 10/10/2007, -3/+9How long until someone comes out with a 14 gigapixel panoramic image?
- agarc, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6Hold on. Have you ever been to Harlem? Much of Harlem is in a renaissance period. A two bedroom condo almost costs $1M now. I live in South Harlem and have a beautiful, brand new two-bedroom apartment with an amazing kitchen and 4 large windows in my bedroom. Harlem is one of the new hot spots in Manhattan for living. Many of the old buildings that were previously run down are now luxury condos. It is certainly becoming much nicer than it used to be.
- jmpeagle, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6you can also read the brand of airlines for the two airplanes in the sky. One was Continental and One was American Airlines.
- Starch, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6much better in "HD" view (via IE7)
Heres the Google Maps co-ordinates:
Adam Clayton Powell Jr Blvd & Central Park N, New York, NY
Lat: 40°47'58.09"N
Lon: 73°57'19.33"W - nerfnick, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6A while ago 'Chicago By Night' was posted. Worth checking out if your into these and have yet to see it:
http://www.docbert.org/ChicagoByNight/ - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5This surviving digg will be impossible
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5Waiting for the Terapixel images soon enough. Pretty soon this technology will find its way into very interesting uses.
- aussieNickuss, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4That's the future of Google Maps street view.
- themastersb, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Some windows seem to reveal rooms filled with garbage
- ssmith2k3, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Seems like a pretty good server!
- capiCrimm, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5only a terrorist would look for photographs of that...
/and sorry for the double comment. - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4@JimJD: My guess is that there are too many buildings in the way in other areas of New York. Harlem is in between Morningside Heights and Washington Heights, so the photograph was probably shot in an area where you can still get maximum visibility of the buildings from more elevated land.
- gcnaddict, on 10/10/2007, -2/+6I normally don't suggest this, but try this in IE7. Microsoft Research's HDView Beta really helps it out.
- mhockey14221, on 10/10/2007, -2/+6Exactly... Why Harlem?
- edenseager, on 10/10/2007, -5/+9Nope, I only counted 12.9 Gigapixels...
- theOster, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3yeah that was awesome
- JimJD, on 10/10/2007, -2/+5Hmmm.
I'm from NYC, and they couldn't find a better place to do the shoot!?!?!?!
Seems almost like a waste to me. - uptown, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3The image is comprised of 2045 photographs taken over the course of two hours.
In Harlem, anything of value that isn't bolted down won't ever be in the same place for every photo. - monarch00, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3I spy... a LOT of satellite dishes..
- ultrahombre, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Why Do I feel like im in one of the Bourne movies?
- ahuxley, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4More like the World's Largest Known Banner Ad to sell a software package.
- nubnub, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2No dead people?
- jpinoniemi, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I like the lady in the pink shirt walking down the street who has no feet. She is disappearing from the bottom up!
- thespudmall, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I call *****!
If it is sticked together...wouldn't google earth's images be the largest?? HMMM? - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3i don't find it that spectacular. it's made by vertical slices. if you notice, the sky is all slices of different clouds.
- spyd3rweb, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2anyone find naked chicks in any of the windows?
- Anrkist, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I found a fat black woman who appears to be a ghost wearing a horrendous pink shirt.
- jmpeagle, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I also found a white silhouette of a figure in one of the windows in the foregrounds right in front of the church. It looks like a ghost almost but I think there is a statue or something on the inside.
- digirat, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3which proves that it's two photographs joined in the middle. buried for inaccuracy.
- commitone, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1It's not a cigarette. Looks more like an iPod to me. You can see the white earbud wires.
- kriminalintent, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1there are cars that looked halfway photoshoped out.
- pwnies, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Bad stitch lines though.
- modpancake, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1/r/ torrent of full image as a TIFF
- lostradamus, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1If only the pic was of something interesting.
