- Noobuntu, on 10/10/2007, -0/+13You can zoom in close enough to see what brand of window air conditioner the apartments in the far back have. :o
- capiCrimm, on 10/10/2007, -4/+1even better. I made our waldo (hint: he's wearing a striped shirt)
- capiCrimm, on 10/10/2007, -7/+2even better. I made our waldo (hint: he's wearing a striped shirt)
- jmpeagle, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6you can also read the brand of airlines for the two airplanes in the sky. One was Continental and One was American Airlines.
- capiCrimm, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5only a terrorist would look for photographs of that...
/and sorry for the double comment.- jmpeagle, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I also found a white silhouette of a figure in one of the windows in the foregrounds right in front of the church. It looks like a ghost almost but I think there is a statue or something on the inside.
- jmpeagle, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1found a 3rd plane but don't know what company as it is facing the camera
also found Jamaican and Chilean flags - Anrkist, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I found a fat black woman who appears to be a ghost wearing a horrendous pink shirt.
- capiCrimm, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5only a terrorist would look for photographs of that...
- themastersb, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1At first I thought there might be a long exposure with the blurred people on the streets but then I see that the cars arent blurry.
- ShrimpCrackers, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Some of them are. You can still almost read the license plates though on the blurred ones. The non blurred ones have easily visible license plates.
- maheshee11, on 10/10/2007, -2/+3Superb!
- gashad, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0Agreed. I think google should use this camera for its street view cars.
- driftersgold, on 10/10/2007, -3/+9How long until someone comes out with a 14 gigapixel panoramic image?
- Mtbeaver, on 10/10/2007, -1/+0My best guess is: not long.
- whamdanglers, on 10/10/2007, -0/+17 minutes.
- SeaMowse, on 10/10/2007, -1/+8WOW! I could even see a couple holding hands, and that they were wearing t-shirts and jeans. The details were amazing.
- mrchi03, on 10/10/2007, -1/+0Tell me about it. you could even see the lady smoking a cigarette.
- commitone, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1It's not a cigarette. Looks more like an iPod to me. You can see the white earbud wires.
- mrchi03, on 10/10/2007, -1/+0Tell me about it. you could even see the lady smoking a cigarette.
- twrife, on 10/10/2007, -0/+10I can't read any license plates :(

- eXp0se, on 10/10/2007, -14/+10but....why Harlem?
- kevincross, on 10/10/2007, -3/+37aside from being large i don't find anything particularly compelling about the image.
- mhockey14221, on 10/10/2007, -2/+6Exactly... Why Harlem?
- themastersb, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Some windows seem to reveal rooms filled with garbage

- KillaJazzBass, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5Waiting for the Terapixel images soon enough. Pretty soon this technology will find its way into very interesting uses.
- aussieNickuss, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4That's the future of Google Maps street view.
- 10goto10, on 10/10/2007, -2/+69Digg if you checked the windows for naked ladied

- nerfnick, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6A while ago 'Chicago By Night' was posted. Worth checking out if your into these and have yet to see it:
http://www.docbert.org/ChicagoByNight/ - gcnaddict, on 10/10/2007, -2/+6I normally don't suggest this, but try this in IE7. Microsoft Research's HDView Beta really helps it out.
- TeHCrAzY, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Good point. Quite nice indeed.
Hopefully they will cross browser the technology!- JacNet, on 10/10/2007, -2/+3Knowing microsoft, probably not...
- madhaha, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Heard of Silverlight? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microsoft_Silverlight

http://www.filehive.com/files/0729/Picture-1.png
Awesome photograph.- iMoth, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7i saw a ghost person, too.
- digirat, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3which proves that it's two photographs joined in the middle. buried for inaccuracy.
- 0ceanic, on 10/10/2007, -3/+3yes cool, especially in ie7
http://digg.com/design/PIC_13_Gigapixel_of_Harlem - EllimistX, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1I'll just wait till 13 gigapixel cameras start hitting the market..
- wisie, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1Nice but some of the stitching needs a bit of work?
- breadbin, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1How easy do you think it is to put an image like this together? No stitching is ever going to be perfect when there are moving cars, clouds, people, etc.
- uptown, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3The image is comprised of 2045 photographs taken over the course of two hours.
In Harlem, anything of value that isn't bolted down won't ever be in the same place for every photo.
- Notsafetoeat, on 10/10/2007, -0/+22Enhance. Enhance. Enhance
- gibler, on 10/10/2007, -1/+18what? no naked chicks in any of the windows??!! fake.
- zadadka, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Well placed advert by Olympic Waterproofing ...
- jmpeagle, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I found 2 airplanes in the sky. One was Continental Airlines and one was American Airlines. You could read the words Continental along the side and see very clearly the American Airlines symbol on the other plane.
Also, How many different images is this? Cause there are cars cut in half and stuff in the middle of the street and the clouds are discontinous.- uptown, on 10/10/2007, -0/+82045 images merged
- daxsymbiont, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3i don't find it that spectacular. it's made by vertical slices. if you notice, the sky is all slices of different clouds.
- jpinoniemi, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I like the lady in the pink shirt walking down the street who has no feet. She is disappearing from the bottom up!
- mineworker, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Check it out here!

- Starch, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6much better in "HD" view (via IE7)

Adam Clayton Powell Jr Blvd & Central Park N, New York, NY
Lat: 40°47'58.09"N

- god4twenty, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2The HDView in IE7 is nice, but how the hell do you zoom out??

I think I saw a robbery... oh no, that's just corporate america inching their way into the neighborhood...
- JimJD, on 10/10/2007, -2/+5Hmmm.
I'm from NYC, and they couldn't find a better place to do the shoot!?!?!?!
Seems almost like a waste to me.- tamar, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4@JimJD: My guess is that there are too many buildings in the way in other areas of New York. Harlem is in between Morningside Heights and Washington Heights, so the photograph was probably shot in an area where you can still get maximum visibility of the buildings from more elevated land.
- blackb0x, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8Wouldn't Google Maps be the largest panoramic?
- madhaha, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Blue dot?
- xtlosx, on 10/10/2007, -5/+3who the hell wants to see so much detail of harlem? what a ***** hole!
- agarc, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6Hold on. Have you ever been to Harlem? Much of Harlem is in a renaissance period. A two bedroom condo almost costs $1M now. I live in South Harlem and have a beautiful, brand new two-bedroom apartment with an amazing kitchen and 4 large windows in my bedroom. Harlem is one of the new hot spots in Manhattan for living. Many of the old buildings that were previously run down are now luxury condos. It is certainly becoming much nicer than it used to be.
- spyd3rweb, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2anyone find naked chicks in any of the windows?
- hacker08, on 10/10/2007, -2/+0Now why can't we play "Where is Waldo" here?
- TygerrTygerr, on 10/10/2007, -2/+0You can. You just won't get the answer you're looking for. :p
- neutrascrub, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Its scary seeing people in the windows.
- pwnies, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Bad stitch lines though.
