What is going on? - inactive, on 10/07/2008, -0/+2Police state implementation begins. If this is the same Galveston hit by the hurricane, then I am not surprised. Expect this pattern to continue. They will use disasters of all types as justification to brutalize our humanity.

Jaime Forero, a regional federal coordinating officer with FEMA, was cited for failing to obey an officer.
As he complained to two police supervisors about officers’ actions, he was detained for refusing to leave the bar.
Police took his FEMA credentials and claimed he threatened to get them fired, according to one officer’s report.

You know, I've been thinking of visiting Galveston, but after reading this article, it sounds like law abiding citizens should be afraid of police acting like lawless thugs. Maybe I'll write to the Galveston Chamber of Commerce and inquire if Law Enforcement in that city make it a regular practice to randomly assault people.
