- inactive, on 11/14/2008, -12/+107As soon as the Georgian aggression began, the official gvt lies and neocon spin machine kicked into high gear. Anyone remember this WashPo article by neocon Robert Kagan?
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/artic ...
BTW both McCain and Obama sang the same neocon lies in perfect harmony. - wariscrime, on 11/14/2008, -5/+89Better late than never. Russians INVITED mainstream media from the very beginning, in August, but BBC preferred to cover the events ONLY from Georgia. Now they call it "exclusive" access ;-))
- inactive, on 11/13/2008, -12/+80We started collecting articles on this as soon as the Georgians and Israelis started appearing at the White House to protest in August:
http://yellowcakewalk.net/2008-08-16 - GeeksSpeakFont, on 11/13/2008, -3/+56it's great that whewell is helping people tell their war stories who have been silenced!
- CoolHandLuke70, on 11/14/2008, -6/+55Wow, more and more evidence that the Georgian invaders were a bunch of genocidal liars.

http://www.infowars.com/?p=5959 - cmkennedy, on 11/14/2008, -5/+44No surprise.
"We're all Georgians." Thank goodness that neocon goon didn't win. - pennsykid2000, on 11/14/2008, -14/+52This is why Obama first issued an "even-handed" statement asking for calm on both sides, which McCain criticized strongly as "naive". It looks like Obama's first instincts were right and far better than John "Still living in the Cold War" McCain's.
- donkz, on 11/14/2008, -5/+40"Tim Whewell has discovered evidence Georgia may have committed war crimes in its attack on its breakaway region in August."
WELCOME TO 3.5 MONTH AGO, BBC.
Western media almost got away with covering up Georgian war crimes to accuse Russia of unlawful INVASION. Oh wait... they still blame Russia for it... nevermind. - inactive, on 11/14/2008, -4/+33Now, wipe the flecks of spittle from the sides of your mouth and try to speak English. Were you trying to make a point or did you just happen to forget your thorazine? You can try again if you like, because what you wrote is gibberish.
- pintomp3, on 11/14/2008, -3/+30it's all about the pipeline.
http://blog.cleveland.com/world_impact/2008/08/lar ... - jiganto, on 11/14/2008, -3/+27Surprise surprise. There were native Ossetians right from the start who were trying to explain that it was the Georgians who started the conflict. Too bad half the people in this country are too stupid to see past their half-century old prejudices.
- rv361162, on 11/14/2008, -5/+29***** that, Obama still supports the idea of keeping Russian "aggression" in check.
You need to check your ***** before spouting off Obama as innocent and correct in this instance. - rv361162, on 11/14/2008, -2/+24Lets pull up the old Digg stories where there were deniers saying "oh Russia's EVIL!" STOP RUSSIA!@ Obama says stop russia, mccain says stop russia, it must be Russia's fault!
Meanwhile tons of us Diggers just simply looked at Russia Today's news pieces even with Americans in South Ossetia who said the same thing as this interview, and some Diggers said "conspiracy theorists... why would Georgia attack their own people???"
*DING* winner. - Betrayal, on 11/14/2008, -4/+26I love how all the morons started demonizing Russia. Not saying their government are angels but you know USA and the western allies always put it the way it works the best for them. Georgia is tied to the US (their army is being trained by the US) and wants to join the Nato yet does these war crimes and tries to blame it on Russia.
And we even heard Obama talking ***** about Russia being the sole aggressor. How i love these sheep who think he's any better than Bush. - Carl306, on 11/14/2008, -1/+21It's reasons like this that I hate people. How any anyone or any government can try and justify or find reason in killing innocent men, women, and children, as well as openly assaulting a civilian residential building is beyond me.
"He who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt. He has been given a large brain by mistake, since for him the spinal cord would fully suffice. This disgrace to civilization should be done away with at once. Heroism at command, senseless brutality, and all the loathsome nonsense that goes by the name of patriotism, how violently I hate all this, how despicable and ignoble war is; I would rather be torn to shreds than be part of so base an action! It is my conviction that killing under the cloak of war is nothing but an act of murder."
-Albert Einstein - BESTenemy, on 11/14/2008, -0/+16 When the conflict ended I was watching US media and Russian media reports for comparison. US pieces consisted primarily of reporters standing in the middle of nowhere or running from somewhere to somewhere while trying to make incomprehensible statements, as if they were under fire. Whenever Russia was mentioned, they'd show stock footage of military parades and weapons tests etc. There were also interviews with Saakashvili consisting of nothing but accusations.
In Russian media at the time all they've had were interviews with Ossetians, interviews with Ossetians, iterviews with Ossetians.
The interviews like these were all over the place right after the attack, but they were never shown by Western Media. All they had to do was translate the material, but they never bothered. - inactive, on 11/14/2008, -3/+17You notice how the Internet new about this before everyone, and NOW, months after anyone gives a ***** anymore, BBC finally puts out a documentary showing what we all knew. This is why it's so important to preserve net neutrality.
- erikwithaknotac, on 11/14/2008, -1/+15I did
- pathouston22, on 11/14/2008, -3/+17So, is everybody who attacked Russia for defending those people from Georgia going to eat crow?
http://digg.com/world_news/1_400_civilians_dead_as ...
geneticlone on 08/09/2008 I am of russian decent and I have to say what Russia is doing is wrong
Dasmonger on 08/09/2008 Right.. let's blame Georgia for that too..Russia has been itching for long time to get this rolling..Don't be fooled folks...
lionbeat on 08/10/2008 Russia is always trying to pretend to be a peace-keeper when in fact following its own interests (no different from US if you ask me), but i feel sorry for Georgians now and I wish US and Europe support Georgia by any means now!
jabberwolf on 08/09/2008 With Russia , they made up *****, gave no warning, amassed their army in "excercises" next to Georgia. And Russia mobilized its Black Sea fleet off the coast of Abkhazia. They are not invading to protect anyone but their own interests.
jabberwolf on 08/09/2008 Russians just decided they wanted Georgia and invaded - some things never change. - JuliaXV, on 11/15/2008, -1/+14Georgia and the US can no longer fool anyone. It was a totally unprovoked attack by Georgia.
Saakashvili should be hanging from a tree for murdering all those people. He is a dictator and a despot of the worst variety...just what the US loves in a puppet. - daskro, on 11/14/2008, -6/+19Obama will be giving no support for the South Ossetians.
- BoneheadFarker, on 11/14/2008, -0/+12Yes...that darn Russian thread, always causing problems. But it does make some nice cloth.
- inactive, on 11/14/2008, -4/+15No, I go to the facts. If the facts are proven wrong, I accept the corrected facts. See how it works?
- lazerus9, on 11/14/2008, -2/+13But now they are the "chosen".
- nickert0n, on 11/14/2008, -2/+12Dugg for infowars
- aletoledo, on 11/14/2008, -0/+10Here is the weird thing, I agree with you that the Internet knew the truth behind the story before anyone else, it's just strange that you want the government to step in and regulate the internet. Net neutrality is NOT about keeping the internet free from corporate influence, it's about inviting in the government to "protect" us from the corporations. Here's the catch, corporations run the government and by extension they would control the internet!
Please try to understand that the less government regulates the internet the better off we'll be. Look at what is happening in Australia for a perfect example of how things will progress. The government will filter out "illegal" things, because these items don't merit protection in their eyes. The question then is what is legal and what is illegal. - wariscrime, on 11/14/2008, -16/+25Obama "asking for calm", lol!! He's already asking for more U.S. troops in Afghanistan! Will you volunteer?
- scotchsean, on 11/14/2008, -0/+9Sad but true. Nothing will be done about this. Say hello to Cold War II
- Adwt0125, on 11/14/2008, -0/+9Man, I feel bad for that lady.
- aletoledo, on 11/14/2008, -2/+11@OafBoaster
Russia only appears scary to you because thats what the MSM tells you to believe. They also say the same for Iran. Both Russia and Iran were former allies with very strong ties and common goals. Don't let the MSM (which is controlled by the rich) to be what determines your position on things, take facts and form your own. - inactive, on 11/14/2008, -5/+14You are right about that, here's the new one:
http://whitehouseprotest.org - 1professional, on 11/14/2008, -1/+10MAY have started it?
hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
well do we laugh or cry??
Talk about freedom of expression, freedom of the press............
The Georgians and their US masters slaughtered 1800 Russians in a frenzied and unprovoked attack with missiles against civilians, then they play the victim when the Russians reacted and kicked the hell out of them both... - inactive, on 11/14/2008, -0/+8dugg for digging infowars
- NaCl, on 11/14/2008, -0/+8What I got from this, is that Georgian were allowed to leave and then their homes were destroyed. Georgians on the other hand tried to destroy Ossetian homes while Ossetians were still in them.
- ciaran036, on 11/14/2008, -1/+9We tried telling you this the day it happened, but the population of Digg and the rest of the world had sucked up the Western mainstream media propaganda, which featured blatant lies, and mistruths about the conflict. The propaganda was designed to blame Russia, despite the fact that it was Georgia who attacked South Ossetia, not Russia who attacked South Ossetia.
It was rather a complex conflict and I'd rather not get into the details but all you need to know is that it was pro-US dictator, Georgia Saakashvili who was responsible for the thousands of innocent people who died.
If I had the time I'd go into the details of how the US and Israel funded and trained the Georgian military and how oil came into the equation.
Russia are certainly to blame for deaths of civilians, not nowhere near in the proportions of the original Georgian invasion of South Ossetia.
PS - Don't listen to that ***** idiot, Miliband.
It is not "new evidence" that Georgia committed war crimes! That's been well known since day 1!
By the way, this is not 'truth' from the BBC. This is just more ridiculous propaganda. The BBC haven't mentioned the role of US and Israel in causing this conflict. - aletoledo, on 11/14/2008, -4/+12Obama's campaign released the following statement on the situation:
“I strongly condemn the outbreak of violence in Georgia, and urge an immediate end to armed conflict. Now is the time for Georgia and Russia to show restraint, and to avoid an escalation to full scale war. Georgia’s territorial integrity must be respected. All sides should enter into direct talks on behalf of stability in Georgia, and the United States, the United Nations Security Council, and the international community should fully support a peaceful resolution to this crisis.”
How do you conclude that this is even handed? It seems to me that this is politicial speak in support of georgia. I think Obama supporters need to stop fooling themselves and accept that Obama has a foreign policiy nearly identical to Bush/McCain. - kelmaster1, on 11/14/2008, -0/+8It's interesting how the majority of history and news reporting is focused on the events going on during the war, rather than the actual reasons for going to war. I think this war is fascinating because very little information is known, besides events and testimonies.
War is man made; when people think of that they think of society as the cause. Examining history proves otherwise. Human instinct is guerrilla type warfare.. which makes sense, guerrilla warfare is most effective, even though it is considered 'inhumane' (how is war humane?). Large national wars are not the products of societies (the people), unlike we've been trained to think through education and wars throughout history. Examination shows that pretty much every large war has some small group influence, that ends up affecting a large group. History of National Banking, war bonds etc. is a huge factor in recent times, while conquest, power and religion dominated before that. Who knows how many people have been killed over gold...
Famous JFK quote:
" For we are opposed around the world by a monolithic and ruthless conspiracy that relies primarily on covert means for expanding its sphere of influence--on infiltration instead of invasion, on subversion instead of elections, on intimidation instead of free choice, on guerrillas by night instead of armies by day."
This whole thing is worldwide. - inactive, on 11/14/2008, -4/+12Better late than never. It's not like the American media, which have aligned themselves with Georgia (perhaps due to Georgia's entanglement with Israel), have come clean.
- scotchsean, on 11/14/2008, -6/+14This is one the rare times that the Russians were not spewing BS. This has been so poorly covered by the News media here in the US. Which is surprising considering that they are supposed to be "liberal" and "biased" thus trying to knock down Bush every chance they get.
If we want to justify what we did in Iraq as just, then what the Russians did was even more so. Problem is, Putin is a real ******* which makes anything he does look bad. - NaCl, on 11/14/2008, -1/+9Digg's Ziocon lobby is finally here!
- scotchsean, on 11/14/2008, -3/+11An absolutely horrible web site. I couldn't stand it long enough to read anything. Please fix it.
- Fartbandit, on 11/14/2008, -1/+8rare times?? Are you really your sure that most political stories regarding Russia don't have a large degree are pro western spin doctoring to them??
- trollick, on 11/15/2008, -1/+8It cannot possibly be true because it does not fit a very simple formula:
Russia - KGB, communism, bears - bad. USA - Jesus, freedom, Ronald Reagan - good. - magic6435, on 11/14/2008, -1/+8wtf are you talking about?
- inactive, on 11/15/2008, -3/+10I heard that JIDF got his ass banned recently for doing something really pathetic. Anyone have any idea what that might have been?
- inactive, on 11/15/2008, -4/+10^^^ Now THAT sounds like HumanCattle
- Betrayal, on 11/14/2008, -0/+6"Countries dont just attack themselves"
Are you out of your mind?! Please inform yourself better on this particular topic.
While South-Ossetia technically isn't independent it is populated by Russian ethnicity hence the attack by Georgia because S.O. and Abkhazskaya are more and more into getting themselves independent.
How funny the west agreed on Kosovo independance but not when their interest is at stakes as in Georgia. - britoca, on 11/15/2008, -0/+6in other words, the Russians were right.
- wastelander, on 11/14/2008, -0/+6WTF?
