- slvrbullet87, on 11/07/2009, -2/+12So your solution to crime is to legalize everythinng so there is no way to commit a crime?
- gsm54321, on 11/07/2009, -2/+9We have these near Riverside, CA. They are called bar houses. Basically a Mexican rents a house out in the sticks, and runs the place like a bar while living out of it. They have everything, pool tables, tv, they use the back rooms as brothels, they even have even cockfighting.
To be honest, from the stories I've heard they sound like a hell of a time. - hellotyler, on 11/07/2009, -3/+10Legalize it before the mafia controls everything. I'd rather the government regulate that ***** then drug dealers.
- master69better, on 11/07/2009, -2/+9This sounds like something Rockstar Games is planning for their next GTA.
- freakFlag, on 11/07/2009, -0/+6Five ***** pages ....
- calypsoschnitzl, on 11/07/2009, -1/+7Sure legalize meth. Criminalizing it serves no purpose. People want to get ***** up, give them treatment instead. Legalize prostitution while you're at it. Drug dealers and pimps sure as hell don't want it legalized.
- calypsoschnitzl, on 11/07/2009, -0/+6Quest for diversity? WTF are you talking about? This is market economics. US business hires the cheapest labor possible and export your job overseas. Washington just stands around with their thumbs up their ass. That's what's up. Not your 'quest for diversity'. Time to shut off the Glenn Beck show..
- BabyFirefly, on 11/07/2009, -4/+9It's people like yourself that make me believe in abortion.
- slvrbullet87, on 11/07/2009, -0/+5Step 1, dont renew the liquour licences of the legal bars that feed these places.
- BubblesTheChimp, on 11/07/2009, -0/+5Grand Theft Auto V: Casitas
- ZigZagZilla, on 11/07/2009, -2/+7Sounds like a lot of fun, actually.
- BabyFirefly, on 11/07/2009, -1/+5Yep. I live in a country whose economy is controlled and ran by the drug trade. The crime it brings is insane. I can't help but thinking that if it were legal, we wouldn't have 600 murders in 4 months.
- gsm54321, on 11/07/2009, -0/+4I just got back from Chicago with a bar on every other corner. LA seemed like a ghost town. LA has always been an expensive ***** hole where your options are drinking beer at a friends house or blowing $30 at some club. The San Fernando valley is the most boring place I have ever been.
- BlueStarr, on 11/07/2009, -1/+5why the ***** didn't I know about these places when I was living in LA for almost 4 years. ***** you internet late getting the word out as usual!
- diggdong, on 11/07/2009, -0/+3Simon says what?
- xero69, on 11/07/2009, -0/+3Maybe LAPD needs to make it clear that reporting casitas will NOT get you deported if you are in the country illegally. These people are too scared to report these places so they go undetected until someone gets murdered. Criminals will always prosper in areas where people are too scared or unable to report crime.
- sandman979, on 11/07/2009, -0/+3Ditto. This is total fear mongering. What do PR's Friday night hangouts have to do with a 3,000 miles away Mexican thing? Ohh.. I see... Maybe all Latins are the same? Now I get it!
:P
BTW, the term "casitas" is not even used in PR.
This article is a piece of *****. - nyden, on 11/07/2009, -1/+4Simón!
- allisonV12, on 11/07/2009, -0/+2To get killed by some drunken dumbass or ran over by a Ford Bronco or Chevy Suburban
- cryofan, on 11/07/2009, -0/+1they are just giving people what they want. What is wrong with that? The govt oligarchy is only after them to get money.
- Barackalypse, on 11/07/2009, -0/+2Sorry, but according to the article these places are also full of illegal drugs and prostitutes, which means they're not relying on licensed businesses to stay around. A Government that was doing its job would be raiding these places, arresting the owners, arresting any felons, and deporting the illegals.
- CanPanther, on 11/07/2009, -1/+3LMFAO. Are you stupid? And then the next place opens up!
This isn't going to stop....ever. And it's dumb-asses like you, Barackalypse, who think that tougher governmental regulations and laws will actually solve the problem. Think about it for just a second and you will realize that substance abuse has been around for centuries and this will NEVER ***EVER** go away, no matter how hard you clamp down.
It's better to regulate than shut down. Trying to shut something down just moves it around and you will NEVER be able to keep pace with it. If you think harsher laws will work, just look at how marijuana is fast gaining acceptance after decades of repression and increasingly harsher laws.
Use your brain for something other than preaching to people who don't give a ***** about what you have to say. There is absolutely nowhere on Earth that prohibition works. Deal with it. - DarkShroud, on 11/07/2009, -5/+6You want to legalize Meth? Are you a total dumbass or did you just not read the story?
- gustasonfrever, on 11/07/2009, -7/+8Buried. The content of your comment and your username combine to paint a convincing image of you as a racist.
- loah, on 11/07/2009, -0/+1CanPanther... u should "Use your brain for something other than preaching to people who don't give a ***** about what you have to say."
- Averness, on 11/07/2009, -1/+1Pretty much yes, If it's not hurting anyone, legalize it. This includes virtually all drugs, gambling and prostitution.
- BerateBirthers, on 11/07/2009, -0/+0Instead of looking down at these people, we need to understand it's a part of their culture. Everyone is unique and it's time for Americans to learn how the other side lives.
- gsm54321, on 11/07/2009, -1/+1From reading history I get the impression that the the Irish gangs from around 1860 weren't any better and things seemed to work out for them. You probably don't read so that might be lost on you.
- BabyFirefly, on 11/07/2009, -6/+4"In Puerto Rico, casitas are community clubhouses surrounded by gardens, where men and women gather on Friday nights"
Whoever wrote this article didn't research correctly. The above isn't true. In fact, a lot in this article isn't true. Just more fear mongering. - spyd3rweb, on 11/07/2009, -4/+2A real free market economy.
- 2balls1cup, on 11/08/2009, -2/+0All you liberals who called Lou Dobbs a racist, will you admit you were wrong now? We need to deport ALL these people NOW because there's a race war coming, and they ain't gonna be on the side of the real American patriots. Don't count on any help from Hussein either.
- Barackalypse, on 11/07/2009, -9/+3Our quest for diversity has gone so far that we are neglecting to enforce our laws out of fear of offending or being labeled xenophobes or racists. Behold the unpleasant results.
- circadiem, on 11/07/2009, -10/+3BAHAHA! How's this Mexican guy going to be wearing a tape measure out on a date and take the girl to a taco stand?
DAMN and then after he "wined and dined" her, he kills her and leaves his tape measure next to the body. Way to go homez.
