- bmdubya, on 10/15/2007, -10/+82I am really scared. Not scared that Iran is going to attack us first, but I am scared that something bad is going to happen because we are going to start another unnecessary war. I really wish I had the money to move out of the country. I really don't like being an American anymore, and I have a terrible feeling that something bad is going to happen.
- notque, on 10/10/2007, -6/+33This is what your corporate candidates do for you. Maybe Hillary or Obama will save us. Right.
- inactive, on 10/15/2007, -9/+22There goes our country…
- CosmicJustice, on 10/10/2007, -0/+13I'll send you a dollar.
- philovivero, on 10/15/2007, -6/+19I don't get it. I just don't get it. Iran, now, too? Is Iraq not expensive enough?
- sysoprock, on 10/10/2007, -0/+12Speak like Yoda, the submitter does.
- Depthfunction, on 10/10/2007, -2/+14From the article:
"While Mr Bush has not yet issued an "execute order" for a military operation inside Iran . . ."
Um, pardon me, but I thought that Congress, and Congress alone, has the power to declare war. Make no mistake: an attack against the Revolutionary Guard--a branch of the Iranian military (despite Bush's attempts to tag them with the bogus "terrorist organization" label) would be an act of war against a sovereign nation.
Congress really needs to grow some balls and take back their Constitutional obligations. If Congress wants to go along with the neocons' madness, then it needs to make a formal declaration of war. If they do not offer such a declaration, if they give Bush another blank check like they did with Iraq, then I think we all should hold Congress accountable for what will likely be the biggest foreign policy disaster in American history. - IEatBrains, on 10/10/2007, -2/+13You mean their country..
- quaxon, on 10/10/2007, -2/+13at least last time they waited till after the invasion to change the reasons for invading.
- zyklon, on 10/10/2007, -3/+13What the hell is the matter with this administration? Are they actively trying to ruin America?
- Jennyd6, on 10/10/2007, -4/+14Maybe the U.S. has a chance if they launch a sneak attack. Oh... wait...
- JoshuaGross, on 10/10/2007, -2/+11Iranian leaders are meeting up with Russians later in October. If they buddy up, and we attack Iran, yes, WWIII. We'll pretty much all be screwed.
- randf, on 10/10/2007, -2/+11you might be stupid, but at least you are consistent.
- bluntwrap, on 10/10/2007, -5/+13The US is digging a hole that you guys will never get out of.. Afghanistan, Iraq and now Iran... WWIII perhaps?
- zapperdude60, on 10/10/2007, -3/+11do you mean: "Ron Paul is the only republican/libertarian who can save us from this neo-con evil.
- brianbennett, on 10/10/2007, -4/+11This isn't news, the military plans for everything. We probably have full battle plans for an invasion of Switzerland too.
- crapmatic, on 10/10/2007, -3/+10I've been hearing this Iran war drum banging for three years... it's starting to get kind of old. Remember June of 2005? There was supposed to be a big Iran invasion back then. How is this new news except for changes in details?
- NikoKun, on 10/10/2007, -4/+11***** bush... stop trying to get us killed!
Stop attacking other nations and throwing our country into more debt than the rest of the world! - dcbebop, on 10/10/2007, -3/+10Any Aussies or Brits on here care to explain their immigration and naturalization process?
- TheThirdRider, on 10/10/2007, -1/+8I was thinking more along the lines of Canada.
- bluntwrap, on 10/10/2007, -2/+8hey if you wanna flee to my country (Canada) to get away from you ***** up government then come on up I welcome you!
- JoshuaGross, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6Bleh. This definitely is not cool.
- randf, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5i going crazy too. why you doing this me? WHY?
- sockpuppets, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5Or a pretzel.
- VaporBro, on 10/26/2007, -2/+6I really want to move to the Netherlands and live in a Coffee Shop.
- doshindude, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5there is. it's called congress.
- gottadiggit, on 10/10/2007, -2/+6That seems to be the pattern.
- occularrifts, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5:|
This is me being shocked. - SirZRX, on 10/10/2007, -2/+6Americans come on guys... don't start a war please, i have goals in my life, war backslashes wont help
- sangjmoon, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4The US military creates plans for every possible contingency against known enemies of the USA just as enemy nations have their own contingency plans as well. This is not news unless you are clueless.
- keyme, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5It's not a big surprise, really. It had been cooking for a while now..
Such an attack is definitely not in my interest (as I live in Israel). Surely my stakes of survival are going to decrease dramatically when Iranian missiles will fly above my head.
So I'm left to hope this will be prevented.
On the other hand, if they get Nukes... They better not. - sockpuppets, on 10/10/2007, -2/+6Carnac the Magnificent: Use three fictional characters in two grammatically incorrect sentences.
- msurock85, on 10/10/2007, -2/+5This really is not any type of new news. The U.S. has strike plans for multiply scenarios on multiply countries. Any major military power has strike plans for other countries and other scenarios and they shift and get drawn up depending on the geopolitical climate. This is just news because of all of the talk. Russia has strike plans for the U.S. and the U.S. has strike plans for Russia. The same thing with China, India, Pakistan, the United Kingdom, Germany, etc.
- thewatchman, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Hillary said of Israel's strike on Syria: "“What we think we know is that with North Korean help, financial and technical and material, the Syrians apparently were putting together, and perhaps over some period of years, a nuclear facility, and the Israelis took it out. I strongly support that.” Hillary is a shoo-in to be next President. Surely none of you think that with Bush gone this "war" stuff will be over. It's just starting.
- shahruz84, on 12/17/2008, -2/+5news.com.au??? we have to get our news from australia now? like the single most anti-muslim racist country in the world?
- sanman, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3"But we have no homosexuals in Iran. We have no WMDs either."
"I'm a gay liberal, but I respect Ahmedinejad's right to drop a wall on me." - captainchris, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3sorry you lost your arm in world war 2. hope you recover from your post traumatic stress disorder.
- sanman, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4I think Frasier's Dad can save us from this neo-con evil. Because he and Dr Paul have the same makeup artist.
- sanman, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Is the : the little taser marks?
Don't shock me, bro - SlipstreamLucas, on 10/10/2007, -2/+5i'll set me kangaroo's on ya mate if you dont shut ya towel head lovin mouth.
/cries at being an aussie - TybaltCpp, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3The USA are taking 'Expressions of Interest' in the bombing plans which have been sent out to the allies:
UK:
Are you chaps interested in a bombing campaign?
Indeed. Sounds like a splendid idea...
AUS:
G'day mate. Wanna bomb some ***** after you finish your beer?
No problem. Wait till after smoko righto... - asands84, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3Bush and the Congress will need a reason to strike Iran. Let's hope the reason never comes.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4This is probably because they finally realized that Iran has no nuclear or other types of WMD's.
- rifkida, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3What I don't understand is what makes Americans think it is their right to protect the world from Iran. What suddenly makes it America's responsibility to go in and protect people who may not want Americas help. What makes you think psikorsky, that the middle east wants "American Freedom"?
Did the Americans do a poll to decide who wants to be "Free" and who doesn't want to be "Free". America is full of ***** pushing its belief of freedom on the rest of the world. A bunch of people who have never left their homeland voting to put people in office because they believe they know what's best for the rest of the world, sounds like a load of ***** to me. - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I can't tell if you're serious or not. I thought the "Islamofascinazis" part gave that away. That and American Pie.
- Mesmorize, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4You're an idiot if you think plans that the US has for every country indicate a determination to attack them.
Not saying there aren't indicators but this isn't one of them. - SmokedL, on 10/10/2007, -4/+6There are three candidates that have taken a stance against launching a war of aggression targeting Iran: Kucinich, Gravel and Paul.
Anyone out there planning to vote for another candidate should take that in to serious consideration. In my opinion a person that does not have the basic moral stature necessary to unequivocally condemn wars of aggression is unfit to hold any public office. - mtruth, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Maybe it is Australian news because no mainstream US news outlet wants to report something like this.
- GorfTron, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4"Dear USA, Foreign policy is none of your ***** policy." - W
- isiah1, on 01/03/2008, -1/+3Times were a lot easier when Bush only attacked gay marriages... I mean, the only repercussion to fear was a long line of marching flamboyant homosexuals.
