The IDF is already backpedaling on their claims about that school they bombed yesterday that killed 40 people - as usual they said Hamas was using the school as a "shield" but this time the U.N. is calling B.S.

Title: "U.N. agency demands Israel support claims about militants at school"
"[U.N. Relief and Works Agency spokesman Chris Gunness] said based on UNRWA's investigation, the agency is "99.9 percent certain" **THERE WERE NO PALESTINIAN MILITANTS IN OR ON THE GROUNDS** of the school that was sheltering civilians when it was shelled by Israeli forces.
"If there's any doubt, can anyone come forward (and) give us the evidence?" Gunness demanded. "The Israeli army is circulating ancient pictures, which allegedly show militants using our compound. It's an old set of pictures to show a new case. It doesn't work." (emphasis added)
As for the U.N. aid worker that got killed, I can't wait to hear the IDF's explanation for that one. - yoyoadrian, on 01/09/2009, -38/+190Isreal has seriously lost its mind.

- fadzlihani, on 01/09/2009, -36/+125Israel take their land,
Israel take their water,
Israel take their peace,
Israel take their freedom,
But it is all Palestinians fault?
Use your brain not your knee - mosesmoses, on 01/08/2009, -36/+122The title is misleading, you know.
"Blames Israel" sounds like the IDF didn't you know, kill their workers. - IneedaSN, on 01/09/2009, -48/+134Israel has a right to defend itself, the UN is a terrorist organization
/s - tjex, on 01/09/2009, -10/+91It gets better:
Israeli soldiers lock up 70 people in house which is bombed. Apparently it's under IDF investigation.
http://digg.com/world_news/Israeli_soldiers_lock_u ...
You remember the UN school that was bombed? Well it turns out the IDF admitted there was no fire coming from around it. Israeli military officers have admitted there was no Palestinian gunfire emanating from inside an UNRWA school in Gaza which was shelled by an IDF tank.

Madness I tell you! - drmangrum, on 01/09/2009, -26/+107Good, the sooner Israel can stop playing the victim and start having to face the consequence of their actions, the sooner they can get some SERIOUS peace talks in the works. Israel likes provoke the Hamas as much as Hamas likes to provoke Israel.
- gl3nk, on 01/09/2009, -44/+106Israel being evil?? Naa.. I can't beleive it. LMAO
End Zionism - t4h3r, on 01/09/2009, -16/+76I love how all you pro-Israelis are still trying to justify these dehumanizing actions even after the United Nations has clearly said Israel is wrong.
- yosserhughes, on 01/09/2009, -17/+76Breaking news for Israel.
At a late news conference today Mr. Ehud Olmert, Israel’s prime minister told reporters that Israel had had enough of all the bloodshed and violence, and that is was time for the Israelis to come to terms with the fact that there is no peaceful resolution to the conflict while Israel exists within the Arab territories.
Mr. Olmert stated, “We treasure the lives of our children and the children of our Arab brothers, and so in order to preserve peace Israel is relocating out of the area. Mr. Bush and President Elect Obama have been kind enough to offer us southern Florida as the new Jewish homeland, and we are happy to accept this kind offer”
The new Jewish Homeland, as described by Mr. Olmert, will stretch from Orlando, (henceforth to be known as New Tel Aviv), and everything south of the I4. Residents of southern Florida will have until Sunday noon to vacate their homes before the Israelis move in. Mr. Olmert said he was confident the Floridians would cooperate with the evacuation and leave in an orderly manner, but they would be bringing their bulldozers with them just in case.
No reaction as yet from the Floridians. - diggafrica, on 01/09/2009, -10/+65Condoleeza might as well get on her knees and suck some Israeli dick. It was an embrassing moment for America, to see her raise her hand to abstain during the security council voting. All the other diplomats just looked at her , many shaking their heads.. how low has America become. A nation everyone used to look up high to as a beacon of freedom & justice, now a trapped soul held in bondage by Zionist chest.
- Apocrypha, on 01/09/2009, -50/+102Israel. The hypocrite state. It seems to me there is only one solution to the problem in the Middle East. Move Israel.
- user500, on 01/09/2009, -14/+62"Israel says that militants fired rockets from the area of the school and then ran into the crowd of civilians to take cover."
Glad that makes it ok to the shell civilians then. - j0se, on 01/09/2009, -8/+56War is sad
- user500, on 01/09/2009, -19/+62Israel is the genocidal terrorist organization
- IneedaSN, on 01/09/2009, -5/+43against a UN transport delivering aid to civlians?? have you lost ALL your marbles?
- perple, on 01/09/2009, -10/+46i've recently invested in a punching bag for situations like these....i suggest you all do the same.......excuse me for now but...RAAAAAAAAAAAAGE.......
- darkknight1974, on 01/09/2009, -7/+43I love how people say let them fight it out, but we give Isreal the planes, guns and tanks.
2.4 billion in 08 (75% to buy weapons)
http://digg.com/politics/Who_Gets_U_S_Foreign_Aid - letdowntourist, on 01/09/2009, -7/+42You know Gaza is a place people live, not the people right? Credibility... waning...
- Wrangler76, on 01/09/2009, -11/+45Thus, Israel is justified in shooting up every UN vehicle that appears in the region right? Gee, maybe they should tell that to the UN first, so they know that they are not wanted in there. Seriously, you Israeli propaganda tools are really grasping for straws now.
- grungegbunny, on 01/09/2009, -12/+46It is time for the US to quit funding Israel. I bet if we cut them off they would be MUCH more willing to discuss peace with their neighbors.
- tjex, on 01/09/2009, -5/+39Turns out that story was wrong:
Israeli military officers have admitted there was no Palestinian gunfire emanating from inside an UNRWA school in Gaza which was shelled by an IDF tank.
http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/1054009.html - glennkachmar, on 01/09/2009, -10/+43Israel shows restraint? Are you insane? Don't you even read the news? Since when is killing hundreds of civilians restraint?
- richmomz, on 01/09/2009, -6/+39Give the girl props - she's quick with the propaganda!
- Schmich, on 01/09/2009, -4/+36Afaik it's an old pic but things haven't changed anyways... =/
- MN1962, on 01/09/2009, -3/+33Unfortunately, because of US backing of Israel this conflict will never be solved. Israel follows the US game plan of might is right, which has never worked for the US, so the saga continues. Putting down the gun and negotiating is the only way. Look at Britian and the IRA. Both sides, to there credit,. put aside the anger and resentment of the past and looked to the future and now there is peace in Northern Ireland. Peace won not by a gun but by talking.
- aletoledo, on 01/09/2009, -10/+40It might not make sense to fire on a convoy that they just let in, but it also doesn't make sense to bomb civilians. I think part of the objective is to intimidate Palestinians (and the world) into leaving Israel alone. It's really the same strategy the US uses, so it really shouldn't come as much of a surprise.
That said, they is likely a good chance that it was a gunner with an itchy trigger finger and not a direct order. Still Israel remains guilty since they have allowed things to play out in such a fashion without stricter controls over their soldiers. It's like when Hitler let the SS troops loose on the russian steppe, he really didn't have much concern who they killed. - anonymous1986, on 01/09/2009, -2/+31Wait, not shooting at a 5yr old kid with a tank shell is restraint? So average people without restraint would be shooting that kid in the face with a tank shell i presume?
- glennkachmar, on 01/09/2009, -10/+38Maintaining a brutal occupation and terrorizing its citizens for decades is not self defense. PREVENTING HUMANITARIAN AID is not self defense.
You should look up the words "self defense". You will be surprised to find out what they mean.
That is about the same as saying the Germans who maintained the Warsaw Ghetto were defending themselves. - EpicSelekta, on 01/09/2009, -1/+28If I were Israel, I'd deny responsiblility... as it turns out, the ICC defines firing on UN and humanitarian aid as a war crime.
- PhantomPhoenix, on 01/09/2009, -8/+34Good. It's about time the UN took a stronger stance against the atrocities of both Hamas AND Israel.
- serif69, on 01/09/2009, -1/+26I seriously doubt that South Florida would think twice about any increase in the Jewish population. They'll just assume it's October.
- user500, on 01/09/2009, -5/+30but they give cash kickbacks to the US politicos to look the other way so that makes it ok.
- pumpedvideo, on 01/09/2009, -5/+28http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/7821321.stm
The UN aid agency Unrwa is to resume operations in Gaza as soon as possible after receiving assurances on safety from Israel, a spokeswoman said.
Digg is slow... - inactive, on 01/09/2009, -5/+28You are not offering facts, you are offering statements without any proof. That's not grounds for a debate.
- IneedaSN, on 01/09/2009, -7/+30lets not get off topic here. Israel bombed a MARKED UN truck
stop pretending like being the target of terrorists justifies killing civilians and UN peace keepers. - Warom, on 01/09/2009, -5/+26Must not have hit the megaphone crew yet.

- 'Allow' them 3 hours to get 'relief' -- which they did not aim to keep, anyway.
WHAT do you expect from the descendants and the remaining family members who went through this? - Phalanxia, on 01/09/2009, -6/+26It's better than having a USA dominated world though.
- inactive, on 01/09/2009, -13/+33Israelgirl already has one up.
- Beveridge89, on 01/09/2009, -4/+24Yeah, Ethnic cleansing is always the best solution.
- miketrin, on 01/09/2009, -5/+24Assurance on safety from Israel.... I'd take that with a grain of salt. How about they arm the UN agency so they can fire back at those ass hats targeting them.
Expect a photo soon of hamas terrorist in a UN marked truck...4...3..2........ - Warom, on 01/09/2009, -6/+25If one school is used for terrorism then that gives Israel the excuse to destroying all schools. One ambulance is used all ambulances can be destroyed. Destroying these UN Schools has probably set back the education of Palestinian children for another couple of years, Israel commonly complains about terrorists but unfortunately when people are not educated (like most people in palestine) they really have no idea how to react when everything around them is being controlled by what to them is an occupying force. If one palestinian is a terrorist it gives the excuse to kill many palestinians. It also seems to be the Pro Israelis who are the blood thirsty ones, look at how Pro Palestinians are not condoning the killing by Palestinians but the Pro Isrealis are saying how great it is that Israel can kill Palestinians and that the Palestinians deserve to die. To them Palestian deaths are statistics - I suggest people get some go to some Pro Palestine Protests and see how much they try and point out that the deaths of Israelis is terrible but of course only the crazy protests get on TV. I guess information on christians should all be shown through the KKK because thats the type of information that is shown to you when CNN, FOX etc try and get an Arab view of things, they always go to the extremists.
- hopetruthbetold, on 01/09/2009, -2/+20Madness indeed

Just because you don't like B'Tselem (the source from tjex first link) doesn't mean they "spew blatant Hamas propoganda."
They are an Israeli non profit who document human rights abuses, and they also condemn the killing of Israeli civilians. And unlike you, I'll provide a citation backing up my statements.

These actions can't be justified, I'm sorry. - oda1, on 01/09/2009, -10/+27QUICK GET UR KILLZ ON BE4 OBAMA TAKES OFFICE
- tgc1, on 01/09/2009, -9/+25You know, it's unfortunate because i've met some really cool Jewish people in my life who weren't complete ***** whack jobs. Granted they were young North Americans and didn't follow the psychosis that their parents and grandparents have with the whole zionist agenda. Which is why it pains me a little when I say...
***** ISRAEL! ***** it in its stupid ass.
If you can't conduct yourselves peacefully and quit taking over land that is not yours, and stop shelling civilians, then you are not worthy of existing. And don't confuse what I mean by that. Don't you dare. Jewish people and the like have every right to exist just fine, but a country that terrorizes its neighbors like that. Sorry, but your time is up.
I have ZERO, I'll repeat ZERO sympathy for a country that uses its world position and what may have happened to their people in the past as a means to justify killing of innocent civilians. Specially when that aggressor is using jet planes and bombs when the other side is using rocks and home made weapons. It's pretty easyy to see who's wrong on that side. I'd stick to the side of the little guy just the same if it were a school yard fight and some bully (Israel in this case) was picking on some little kid (Palestine). Specially when the bully was some spoiled brat who's parents (read the United States) were rich and spoiled the little *****. -
