- charlief, on 08/27/2008, -1/+17Ford: You're looking for the Ultimate Question.
Zaphod: Yep.
Ford: You.
Zaphod: Me.
Ford: Why?
Zaphod: No, I tried that: Why? 42. Doesn't work. - Kyrgizion, on 08/28/2008, -0/+15Anomaly? It's simply the next stage in human evolution! I can see mother nature hard at work now...
"Hmm, how to double brain size without having to oversize the skull.. hmm... Wait, I got it! I'll just slap two heads on there - SHAZAM".
On second thought, maybe that's ogres. - inactive, on 08/28/2008, -0/+15"There is always someone there to talk to, and you are never alone."
I like that. - antigravit42, on 06/14/2009, -0/+13Well statistically its more probable for abnormalities to occur to people living in India.
Why? Their population is like 1 billion. - doctechnical, on 08/28/2008, -0/+10...except when they're both dead. The little bugger has passed on, alas.

- noahgelman, on 08/28/2008, -2/+9Their sex life is gonna be a little awkward...
- Stevethegreat, on 08/28/2008, -2/+9It always bugged me, that's obviously two people there, why do you insist calling them to be one? I mean -if they survive- they would even have different personalities would you still call them by a single name? That would be like treating two twins as if they were the same person you can't be more rude than that.
The ancient Greeks thought that center of one's consciousness is the heart, we supposedly know better now, I'm even more infuriated as I still have vivid memories of a conversation I saw on the TV the other day about the hypothetical scenario of head transplant, I mean WTF??? That would be body transplant, there can't be such a thing as head transplant we ARE our heads........ - Bendiks, on 08/28/2008, -0/+7Shouldn't that be "singe-body twins"?

- bovox, on 08/28/2008, -2/+8Why are all these babies with birth deformities born in South Asia? Could living downstream from the world's worst polluter have anything to do with it?
- Sevenfeet, on 08/28/2008, -0/+5Your analogy is inaccurate. The Hensel twins are conjoined and so were these children from Bangledesh (yes, I use the plural form). Just because on initial glance of seeing two heads on one body doesn't mean it's really one true body. With the Hensels, two heads leads to two spinal columns fused at the pelvis, and a remarkable fusion of two bodies that begins in the chest cavity, including two separate hearts. These children are likely similar in physiology, with obvious differences since the Hensels survived and these children did not. Without an autopsy, we will never know the true story about why these children weren't viable.
Very sad. - RAEP, on 08/28/2008, -0/+5I am listening to hear where you are.

http://www.totalpad.com/story.php?title=2-Headed_B ... - Sicarius, on 08/28/2008, -1/+5A few thoughts:
1) With a population of over a billion the odds of any baby being Indian are about 1/6.
2) India is relatively poor so babies are less likely to be pre-screened leading to more live births with defects.
3) Some Indian gods, like Vishnu, are "deformed" so deformed babies get local media attention. - PhilMoskowitz, on 08/28/2008, -0/+4This started playing in my head when I read the headline.
- ButtSmudge, on 08/28/2008, -0/+4What if one of the two turn out to be gay? How would that work?

- DeathfireD, on 08/28/2008, -1/+4I agree with vertmem, the girls in the video are conjoined and the baby isn't. So it would have been more interesting if the baby lived and grew old enough to talk about how he and his second head saw the world. Kind of like the kid with 4 eyes that was born in India.
- Narishma, on 08/28/2008, -0/+3You mean mother nature is taking cues from Intel and AMD?
- beaunewcomb, on 08/28/2008, -0/+3Wow, I'm astonished at your rudeness here. since you seem to know everything about GENETIC ANOMALIES, why don't you explain to us just why each twin WON'T have different personalities? Do personalities and character traits not originate from one's brain? Is all nervous system activity not controlled from the brain? So two complete brains, gives us what? You tell us since obviously you know.
"Are you completely ***** ignorant?" This is laughable.. ***** arrogant prick (and no, arrogance has nothing to do with your success level on any plane in life... just makes you a big ***** *****) - vertmem, on 08/28/2008, -2/+5The diference is: these girls are conjoined twins and this baby not
for me the most amazing thing was the clapping of the girls - bryanwebster, on 08/28/2008, -0/+3update: he died
