- the6thReplicant, on 10/12/2007, -16/+64So I guess the 650,000 dead is going to be too conservative.
Jesus, how much lying can this Administration get away with. But I guess we can't blame the holy trinity (Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld) for this since they have "good hearts". Together with the stories about the US policy of rendition, how can these people look at themselves in the mirror.
Man, I must really be missing something. I really can't believe elected officals can be this evil.
Ciao - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -10/+50Go read some of the contractor blogs... it's the fscking wild west out there, make no mistake about it.
- imsoclever, on 10/12/2007, -10/+38Absolutely appalling, but based on the current administrations track record, absolutely unsurprising.
- BenSerwa, on 10/12/2007, -9/+30Sick. Bush needs to be impeached for war crimes. Now.
- cyberdork, on 10/12/2007, -9/+27Actually the US made a fool of themselves in front of the world when they tried to impeach Clinton for lying about a bj and letting this current administration get away with all those lies and deceptions which cost hundreds of thousands of lives. It will take decades to restore the reputation of America in the world. I'm an European, and for the first 27 years of my life I couldn't think of a better place to live than in the US. But now it's so much different. I could easily get a job in the US, but I wouldn't take it... It's really sad. I hope things change soon, because I love America and Americans.
I'm sure I'm not the only European who thinks this way. - mistercharlie, on 10/12/2007, -5/+22And the big news is... that the government is lying to us? Hardly news, but refreshing to see people talking about it.
- bmartin, on 10/12/2007, -8/+25Even for conservative Republicans like myself, Bush hatin' never gets old. It's not opinion if it's fact.
- moosekin, on 10/12/2007, -4/+20False info in times of war? No way governments do that.
- dgh1973, on 10/12/2007, -8/+24Impeach Bush.

I'd like to know what they constitute as a low level incident - imsoclever, on 10/12/2007, -5/+18Anyone have any links to some of these?
- dschrute, on 10/12/2007, -3/+14I'm just as tired of blind Bush worshiping. It just gets old, real old.
- farther, on 10/12/2007, -9/+20Who said Bush was elected? Diebold?

- matt77, on 10/12/2007, -5/+15The comments are opionion, the story isn't. Just because veryone hates bush doesn't mean you can file every story about him under opinion.
- moxx, on 10/12/2007, -8/+16Makes you think who Bush is answering to, the people or CEO's....

- ELCid, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9Not unexpected. It's pretty much the same way we count the unemployed now. We don't count how many people are actually unemployed and want to work, or under-employed, we just count those who are eligible for unemployment benefits (out of work less than 6 months). If anyone thinks that unemployment in this country is in the 4-5 range, they need to put the crack pipe down.

Besides, we won't impeach him, just hold him indefinitely without charge... - CannedMango, on 10/12/2007, -5/+10650,000 is probably the accurate number... last December, Bush would only admit up to about 30,000.
- spurtle, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7What the hell is up with this "But Clinton did it too" crap? If Clinton was such a goddamned horrible president in your eyes yet you defend Bush by saying that Clinton also did it, what does that make Bush? At best a goddamned horrible president. And my good sir, Bush is so far from "at best" in the negative direction.

- Misogyny, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7Why would gWb cure Aids? As far as the Neo-cons are concerned, it's god's way of killing fags...
- indicas, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7I can honestly say I don't think I've ever been this enraged and saddened by what's going on; this death squad documentary speaks volumes. How can stuff like this go on? How can the administration down play so much of what is happening? Why does the media not tell the American public what is really going on? How can Bush and the administration be so (publicly) adamantly against torture yet turn a blind eye to the torture going on in Iraq?
"It gnaws at my very soul" - this sums up my feelings to a T.
What the hell can we Americans do to change what's going on with our administration? Seriously. Something has to give, something has to change. - testcase, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5See you in THE HAGUE boys!
- mungojerie, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Yeah. I've not paid nearly enough attention to the ISG, but am surprised to hear them saying such things. I need to at least scan the ISG report itself to see if this article is accurately representing it - to see if they're being that blunt with comments that undermine our policies there.
- testcase, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Hensworth: Thankful? 650,000 Iraqi dead is "acceptable", is that it?
Are you insane?
I suspect you don't regard Iraqis as "real" people like "us". They must just be numbers to you, or actors on the evening news performing for your morbid pleasure. Because if you thought they were "real" people, like the good white folks in your neighborhood, I dare say you wouldn't be talking like this. I think you'd be so morally outraged you'd be popping a blood vessel at all this senseless carnage.
Murder is murder. How many murders is an acceptable number to you Hensworth? I think in spite of your comment, you are probably so calloused and desensitized that you could actually shrug off a million or more with no trouble at all.
Provided of course that it wasn't happening in YOUR country, eh? - BAADD1, on 09/24/2008, -3/+6No sh*t, u mean to tell me the media and us government have been lying to us this whole time. When will this country wake up and smell the f'in coffee. My uncle was 1 minute away from getting killed by a car bomb parked next to him. That is the real news, not this BS bush, the US government and the media have us believe. i cant believe this country re-elected this baboon.
Signed
Proud Iraqi - spurtle, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Liberal media my ass.
They didn't even try to question Bush's intentions until his approval rating dropped under 45% and the criticisms didn't start until it was under 39%. - fantastcandy10, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6the war crimes that bush committed are classified.

- dagonweb, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3My quote, half a year ago it was consistently dugg down. Times change.
- airayn, on 10/12/2007, -7/+9Very true, this is all unsurprising. But as more and more details come out of how bad the United States harmed Iraq, will the American people stand to help cure the harm?
In the end, all this will get worse and the solutions are not in talking, outrage, etc.
The difference is made by each one of us , changing the way we act and live right now and here. To be a radical today can start by not driving as much and living simply to reduce out of control consumption driving greed of this war and other United State policy's .
I don't see the United States changing as the cars continue to get bigger and bigger. Any wonder the Administration continues to blunder onward?
Peace

I'm with you here. The Clinton impeachment looked like the circus came to town, yet, Bush is left alone for actually turning the country into a police state (not all his doing). The world is very confused with Americans. Sure you can vote in the actors, sport stars etc, but voting in this Administration is....well we have no idea what you guys are doing but it's scaring the crap out of us.
Impeachment is probably a waste of time, but we really need to find out what is going on here. Everytime we get a Hutton-like report conclusion "everything is fine" we seem to then, at a much later date, find out the first official inquiry was wrong - but always conveniently wrong.
Ciao - dagonweb, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2"I'm tired of Bush hatin':"
You lost, game over, Bush is going to be the laughing stock of modern history governance, something give a whole new depth to the definitions of corruption, incompetence, ignorance, callousness, special interests, denial, dementia.
Anyone still clinging to his hysterical fata morgana of this messianic bush needs institutionalisation or (after the next elections) need to put a barrel in his throat.
I SURE HOPE that some of the psychotics who believe in the rapture start waking up a bit now too. We have little time left to get to work and save the ***** planet. - Philodox, on 10/12/2007, -6/+7As depressing as it is, nobody should be surprised that a government tries to hide the true facts of an unpopular war from its people. Do you think that Bush would have the meager support that he does had he told the truth from day one?
- kremvax, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4The Death Squads (linked above) is a very eye-opening bbc documentary. Just watched that the other day. Just saying "sectarian violence" doesn't even begin to cover what's going on there. I'm still floored anyone got out of the country alive with that footage.
- wrecklass, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2You are way overly optimistic, which of course is typical here on Digg.
In 1975 they said that the Republican party wouldn't win another presidency for twenty years due to Watergate. The next Republican president was elected in 1980. Fifteen years ahead of schedule. Only one Democratic president was sufficient to remind people that both sides have their idiots. -
