- wackattack, on 10/18/2008, -10/+76Don't really get why the USA is still there. It's clear the invasion of Iraq was due to a misleading government in the US of A. What was the result of that illegal invasion condemned by most countries in the world? We have seen an old fashion texas lynch mob and since that day the US has lost all it's credibility. Let's hope for all US citizens that Obama can clear the names all you who approved the crimes your government created against humanity.
Iraq has not been freed and americans have lost their freedom! Who's winning this war you guess? Yep that guy that trashed those towers! - GovernmentSp00k, on 10/18/2008, -11/+54Imagine how Americans would react if a foreign military occupied their soil. Setup permanent military bases and armed patrols in their city, in their neighborhoods where they are not wanted. After bombing and desecrating their country to a smoldering pulp of blood, maimed bodyparts and destroyed houses and villages. On a so-called "freedom" and "liberation" mission. And just signed a contract that would allow such militarized killing forces to continue such practice and stay in their country for three more years.
How would we feel if we were in the Iraqis position considering their situation?
On second thought, most Americans wouldn't care to move off the couch long enough to fart unless their sporting events and text messaging were canceled.. - inactive, on 10/19/2008, -8/+49Dear America

- shannobn, on 10/19/2008, -3/+17Us the taxpayers pay the rent for the war profiteers to occupy and profit from the destruction of lives and a country. Where is the accountability...
- inactive, on 10/18/2008, -8/+19The oil companies are happy with the outcome, the war profiteers made out like the bandits they are, and the fear mongering here in the USA has allowed Bush and his band of criminals to dismantle our Constitution and Bill of Rights. The Likudniks are overjoyed to have American blood and treasure kill hundreds of thousands of Arabs, even while we continue to cut hefty checks to the apartheid state and bankroll their illegal West Bank settlements.
Mission Accomplished, in a very real sense, once you understand what the mission really is. - frankdozier, on 08/10/2009, -1/+12Well, here in the good ol' US, we have this silly little law about not invading a country without congress approval. Now when the reason to invade is fabricated and the entire world is duped into thinking something that is not true, well, that sounds pretty illegal to me.
You know, the world may look like the same one as on a video game, but back here in real life, the consequences of illegal and immoral actions actually costs lives. Humans deserve better than being killed because of lies. I know, I know, it happens all the time; that still doesn't make it legal, nor moral. - Paulorific, on 10/19/2008, -7/+17Come on guys, WE WENT TO IRAQ TO ENSURE OUR RIGHT TO VOTE!
Oh wait, that's a lie. - pintomp3, on 10/19/2008, -2/+12under international law *****.
A Preventive war or Preventative war is a war initiated under the belief that future conflict is inevitable, though not imminent. Preventive war aims to forestall a shift in the balance of power[1] by strategically attacking before the balance of power has a chance to shift in the direction of the adversary. Preventive war is distinct from 'preemptive war', which is first strike when an attack is imminent.[2] Due to the speculative nature of preventive war, in which the adversary may or may not be a future threat, preventive war is considered an act of aggression in international law.[3] Some apologists for aggressive wars have argued them to be justified as Preventive. Arguments as to whether a war was a preemptive war or a preventive war, or a preventive war rather than an war of aggression can be very controversial as they are in effect arguments as to whether those wars were justified or not.

- whatthefu, on 10/19/2008, -3/+12Yeah, I mean totally going in and overthrowing the government without a good plan was saintly of us. Creating instability, insurgency and civil war? They should be kissing our feet.
Sometimes you have to admit when you've done wrong. I don't see how anyone can keep up this charade anymore. - stonebear, on 10/19/2008, -2/+9Obama has backed this war all along, and kneeling before AIPAC was among the first acts of his campaign. Still; I believe the war votes are the only ones McCain even showed up for.
Nader and Baldwin are the only real choices for working Americans. - penguin75, on 10/19/2008, -0/+7How is this about to happen in the U.S.? Is Canada up to something?
- schnikies79, on 10/19/2008, -2/+9No.
It's neither ironic or about to happen. - frankdozier, on 08/10/2009, -0/+6I know! Who do they think they are wanting freedom? I mean, *****, before we got there they hadn't heard of anything like that in some 5,000 years! You'd think we'd get a thank you card, or something, instead we see them exercising their right to peaceful protest and chanting for freedom to live their lives as they choose! How ungrateful can you be? Gosh! What a bunch of freedom craving sons of bitches!

- inactive, on 10/19/2008, -2/+7American military will murder, rape, torture, and imprison these protesters in the near future for doing this. They'll probably label them terrorists, too.
It's funny how stupid people in America are; they think US is doing these people a favor. - stonebear, on 10/19/2008, -4/+9And the Democrats did NOTHING to stop them.
- inactive, on 10/19/2008, -2/+7"Let's hope for all US citizens that Obama can clear the names all you who approved the crimes your government created against humanity."
A) That's funny. Politicians are buddies despite what they may say, they can't hurl stones that are too heavy at one another or else they'll expose the hypocrisy the system is based on.
B) We do not have significant control over our government; they make the rules. Yes, we vote them in, but they make the rules about that too. If you confuse citizens with the ***** who lead them, then you're no better than such ***** yourself. Most Americans wouldn't contemplate the atrocities committed by their government overseas.
"Iraq has not been freed and americans have lost their freedom! Who's winning this war you guess? Yep that guy that trashed those towers!"
Nah he's dead, my guess would be government entrenched CEOs who contribute to campaigns and the politicians who grant them contracts ... for freedom of course.
Whoever IS running Iraq is better off than they were a couple years ago, something tells me either they won't be so eager to see the troops go, or they will want them back when public opinion turns on them.
Where there is a disparity in power it will be abused. http://tr.im/mmr - inactive, on 10/19/2008, -6/+11This particular protest was just a staged ploy from one Shiite group. Their leader tells them to go march, so they go march.
Anyway, we should have been out of there as soon as Saddam was caught. Not that we should have gone in the first place. - mysticalone, on 10/19/2008, -1/+6W: "Look Dick they're having a parade in our honor."
- inactive, on 10/19/2008, -1/+6"Should have left Saddam in charge"
Actually, yes.
What ever happened to people minding their own ***** business?
We have 2 oceans and no local enemies yet we need to look for them? WTF? We should have the highest standard of living, etc. in the world and yet by all accounts our educational system, infant mortality rate, etc. sucks compared to the rest of the industrialized world... Actually, why do we even have a federal government, again? Why doesn't each state just arm themselves to the teeth and vote to make their state how THREY want it. That way all the ***** that want abortion illegal or whatever can have their way and believe in Jesus riding a dinosaur and the rest of us can get on with saving lives through stem cell research, etc. - pintomp3, on 10/19/2008, -0/+4reyalp: ever heard of habeus corpus? oh yeah, bush suspended it it. nevermind. you neo-cons can't go far enough to justify violating human rights.

1. UN Security Council Resolution 51 was ratified by congress and therefore is domestic law. The Iraq war violates this resolution.
2. It's article 2 section 2 of the constitution that talks about international treaties which when ratified by congress are binding. Hence the invasion of Iraq is a violation of constitutional law since no vote has yet been made overturning our agreement to the the UN resolution mentioned above.

Yes... people who deny the holocaust should have no rights ever. People should always agree with everyone else.
Which religious zealots? 'Cause The U.S. has some crazies and I assume there are some Israeli zealots too to go along with others.
"... they can't shut up about wanting to destroy Israel. "
That's not the wisest move on their part, 'cause you see Israel HAS nuclear weapons+.
If Israel gets nervous it's quite capable of "defending itself" from threats both real and imagined.
"What could possibly go wrong?"
Iran could establish itself as a nuclear power and ease tension in the region and play a soccer match with Israel, like Pakistan and India did. Iran could lose, this would be sad for them. - MercurySoup, on 10/19/2008, -0/+3Do you happen to watch NASCAR?
- IMTruckingUSA, on 10/19/2008, -2/+5Bush declared The War in Iraq won some time ago.
Pull the troops out now.
With the Rules of Engagement they are nothing but sitting targets.
Politicians throw them under the bus and call the troops murderers.
All the good the Armed Forces does, build playgrounds, etc. is later destroyed by those Iraqies who want them gone.
Let's be gone.
Now. -
