Had the ***** beat out of me on many occasions, dodged a bullet on more than one occasion with a rather "Friendly" Christian brother. Lots of my friends, not so lucky. We never spoke about it, and I can't tell you why that is. There was never a conscious decision not to, we just didn't. I know we just took it as "well, ***** happens", and you look after your own arse. In every possible sense of the word. The most evil group ? the nuns. A more bitter and vindictive group of sadists your not likely to ever meet. I've seen the face of true evil, carried out in the name of God.

The Catholics are raping little boys and girls, the Muslims are marrying 8 yr old girls off to old men, the christians have similiar ***** going on, including the Mormons who are all about child brides. If you want an implicit acceptance of the practice, it's there, right in that act. For a religion that has inspired such beauty, there is a cruel, black heart at it's core. I left the church before my teenage years were up, and have been happy ever since.

It's really sick. - Networktwenty3, on 05/21/2009, -0/+9It doesn't seem to be as common anymore, but when I was going to catholic school from 1st to 8th grade which was 1975 to 1983 they still had nuns that would teach, some of them use to hit us, either being whacked in the head with a pointing stick (and not lightly) or hitting us with rulers.... These were nuns... by 1980 I was 10 and thanks to the catholic school teaching system an atheist.... Now I am just agnostic. Although it wasn't in Ireland it was in LA.

Not quite sure why she made us be altar boys then.
