- kravex, on 05/12/2008, -0/+11I keep seeing appeals for donations followed by news articles saying none of the aid can get through, so where's the money going?

- Kmap, on 05/12/2008, -0/+12To put things into perspective Gen Than Shwe, Burma's tyrant leader is spending just $5 million to help save his people from the Burmese cyclone....he spent $50 on his daughters wedding.
- Kmap, on 05/12/2008, -0/+12edit - $50 million
- macmangb, on 05/12/2008, -8/+4China has been helping the regime in preventing aid from coming into the country, They are not satisfied in murdering just Tibetans but will help another regime in doing the same to its own citizens.
Independence for Taiwan and Tibet! - ArchangelZLT, on 05/12/2008, -0/+4I would think sending a couple planes and drop foods, waters, etc. a good idea. Certainly that'll receive some condemnation from the junta, but hey, they wouldn't dare starting a war, would they?
- doshindude, on 05/12/2008, -0/+3they're not letting us anywhere near the country though.
- MWeather, on 05/12/2008, -0/+1They don't have to let us.

- radiantstorm, on 05/12/2008, -9/+6Yeah . . . like ANOTHER regime we know . . .
- mcquitty, on 05/12/2008, -2/+7America and especially Bush must be the root of all evil. America doesn't do enough to solve everyone's problems. OMG! Everything is Bush's Fault!!
- MWeather, on 05/12/2008, -3/+1I don't think people would mid so much that we don't solve more problem if we didn't cause so many.
- mcquitty, on 05/12/2008, -0/+5"The United States delivered its first relief supplies to Myanmar on Monday, as the U.N. urged the reclusive nation to open its doors to foreign experts who can help up to 2 million cyclone victims facing disease and starvation."

- dkapuchino, on 05/12/2008, -0/+1And Burmese cats. Which we all know are the favorite pet by Neo-conservatives. This time though, we have cleverly uncovered their evil plot.

same place the bulk of it goes, into some rich guys bank account!!, you see the problem here is these people have no OIL, if they had oil we'd be in there like ***** off a shovel, but since theres no real value (that the americans DONT already control) then these people are *****,
whats even more stupipd is the fact that this "goverment" has so far killed FAR, FAR more that saddam hussien but we dont seem to feel the urge to bring them democracy!
This world is a joke, you religious people dont realise how lucky you are that your gods are imaginary, because if any of them where real, we'd ALL be wiped off the face of the earth and TBH other than the kids who we havent already ***** in the head, we'd all deserve it, selfish, feeble minded sheep, THE LOT OF US!- mcquitty, on 05/12/2008, -0/+3"The United States delivered its first relief supplies to Myanmar on Monday, as the U.N. urged the reclusive nation to open its doors to foreign experts who can help up to 2 million cyclone victims facing disease and starvation."

- cbd37, on 05/12/2008, -2/+3A Country that takes forever to get help to the victims of a cyclone / hurricane and refuses foreign aid. That sounds familiar.
http://en.wikinews.org/wiki/Many_nations_offer_mat ... - ozziedog, on 05/12/2008, -0/+1Yea Independence!
- str3ama, on 05/12/2008, -0/+1If I was in charge of a country that had been hit by a natural disaster, I'd be weary of taking relief aid as well. Relief aid isn't something that's given free, there are some very implicit hidden charges that come with it. For one the relief aid generally comes along with a military presence from whatever country it comes from, and more importantly it generally always comes along with missionaries - who relish these disasters because it lets them get access to countries they normally wouldn't be able to get in to so readily. Plus people in dire need of help are more likely to convert to your religion just to get the relief aid....
