- sheeplescareme, on 01/30/2009, -42/+510a picture is worth a thousand words...heartbreaking.
their homes destroyed, family and friends killed and injured right before their eyes. children always suffer for the greed and arrogance of adults. terrible memories to have to grow old with, if they should be so lucky to. - aduric, on 01/30/2009, -61/+502If anyone doesn't yet know why kids become suicide bombers, now you do. This is reality in Gaza.
- justsenditasap, on 01/30/2009, -19/+227"Palestinian boy Mohammed Kutkut, 14, right, covers his face as he sits next to the name sign of his killed friend Ahed Qaddas in the Fakhoura boys school in Jebaliya, northern Gaza strip, Saturday, Jan. 24, 2009. Three friends of his class where killed when the Israeli army shelled Jebaliya in the past weeks. Tens of thousands of children have flocked back to schools throughout the Gaza Strip, days after Israel ended its fierce military operation against the territory's rulers." AP.
- dubdope, on 01/30/2009, -21/+172how can anyone justify this?
i am voting against stephen harper's government for breaking away from canada's tradition of condemning those for breaking international law. - richmomz, on 01/30/2009, -27/+160It breaks my heart that my country supports the people responsible for killing those kids - what a ***** disgrace.
- sdmarcelo, on 01/30/2009, -24/+145This is so sad. When will we understand as humans that we are all one, that we all are from this earth, and that by killing another human we are in fact killing a part of our own soul. May their souls rest in peace, and may humanity wake up someday soon.
- richmomz, on 01/30/2009, -12/+106Mine too - makes me want to vomit.
- ajgasper, on 01/30/2009, -25/+104Hard to believe there are people who believe it's just retribution for a situation that doesn't adhere too some political or religious philosophy.
- alappat1, on 01/31/2009, -7/+81Michealabehsera, we're not saying that what Hamas does is acceptable, what we're saying is that bombing them will not work because for every Palestinian the Israeli's kill, they will inspire, through collateral damage, a dozen Palestinians to join radical groups like Hamas, who offer revenge or hope for freedom, or emotional security of having someone powerful backing you up etc.
The only ways out of the cycle of violence are through meaningful peace talks (and helping Palestinians have the option of life outside of slums, surrounded by an enemy willing to kill them for the actions of a few) or genocide by killing them all.
I doubt the second option is attractive to anyone save sociopaths and the criminally insane. - persianpeace, on 01/30/2009, -37/+105I wish there was something I could do for these kids...
I makes me wanna cry so bad... - aklu, on 01/31/2009, -3/+63We don't pay taxes. They take them straight out of our checks before we ever see the money.
Nice thought, though. - minnecrapolis, on 01/30/2009, -18/+74@Michael
So what are you trying to say? That 123 Israeli children (in the last 8 years) is more of an atrocity than 1050 Palestinian children (in the last 8 years)?
And had you paid any attention, Israeli soldiers (it has been clearly confirmed - try Google) were the ones to break the truce in the first place.
But that is how the Pro-Israelis always react: THEY DID IT TO US SO WE SHOULD DO IT TENFOLD TO THEM!
What do you think is going to happen when Israel treats Palestinians like second class citizens? The Palestinians are going to strike back. That, my friend, is called human nature. And in this case it is Might (Israelis) vs. Right (Palestinians). - Ghoztt, on 01/30/2009, -13/+63:[
- mab3oos, on 01/31/2009, -12/+60look in the eyes of these kids. You'll be able to tell that Hamas is here to stay.
When you lose a friend at that age; when you're certain of who did it; when your neighbors are wailing for the loss of their house, relatives, and, most certainly, their hope of peace; anger will start building up inside of you and ready to explode. Literally. - persianpeace, on 01/30/2009, -6/+53WTF?!

- Mokshaguy390, on 01/31/2009, -6/+51They both are in some way responsible - Israel more directly. The point, though, is that they're children. They didn't elect anyone; they probably don't even give a ***** about politics. They're ***** children. They don't deserve this.
- persianpeace, on 01/30/2009, -17/+619/11 was done by the US Ally, Saudia Arabia...
And about the death toll on the Israeli side visit: http://www.ifamericansknew.com/ - ABadPerson, on 01/31/2009, -12/+49Then stop paying taxes!!!
- AK911Carrera, on 01/31/2009, -13/+49This is what deserves to be in the Top of All Topics not stupid stuff about Kanye West.
- henri3, on 01/31/2009, -20/+56This breaks my heart. Will this ever change? I believe if the world STOPPED sending money and weapons to Isreal, and if the tax payers would finnally realize where a lot of there heard earned tax dollars goes to support this madness.
- normlsparky, on 01/31/2009, -6/+41I agree. Terrorism is irrational and is the last choice of strategy utilized in any war. This quote sums it up nicely:
"Terrorism is the desperate action of vengeance by the oppressed against the oppressor when the world has closed all the doors of justice and fair play." - Dr. Mustafa Kamal Sherwani, Zanzibar University, Tanzania - MrHappyMan, on 01/31/2009, -3/+37But...its because they hate freedom? Right?

- shakenblake9, on 01/31/2009, -7/+30i think theres enough coverage of israel's side. if digg's only gonna show one side, it might as well be the one not covered by national media
- richmomz, on 01/30/2009, -4/+27Because no one else will it seems.
- normlsparky, on 01/31/2009, -4/+26It pisses me off.

- inactive, on 01/31/2009, -8/+29"if they should be so lucky to"
Or unlucky to. It's a really sad truth that the dead citizens of Gaza are better off than the living ones. - Raoulduke310, on 01/31/2009, -6/+26haha, someone's complaining that the israeli perspective is not getting enough attention? what's next, the US's perspective in the war on terror is being given an unfair shake?
- thecoolestguy, on 01/31/2009, -12/+32Israel's own legal advisors urged them not to shell heavily populated areas.
http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/1047267.html

Israel should not use artillery fire to target rocket-launching militants in the Gaza Strip if the fire is aimed at populated areas, the defense establishment's legal adviser recently told Defense Minister Ehud Barak. "Artillery fire is permissible only in relatively open areas," Ahaz Benari wrote in the legal opinion. "Artillery fire at urban areas is problematic, if the assessment is that the chance that the shell will hit the launchers is relatively low, while the risk that many civilians will be hurt is substantial."

- Auraness, on 01/31/2009, -13/+33Can what is happening to these children be justified by any belief?
The world leaders needs to take a new stance on how to spend tax payers' money. If we used our resources for these children instead of funding war, perhaps we can achieve a better future. - m0llusk, on 01/30/2009, -3/+23The choice to help them or not is ours.
- aufte, on 01/31/2009, -18/+37I think it's really ironic that it's mostly American money funding Israel's destruction of Gaza, and all these Americans are going "I wish there was something I could do! How sad!"
- sgtbutterscotch, on 01/31/2009, -3/+22So...you don't buy anything? Or does that tax go elsewhere?
- QuickHonda, on 01/31/2009, -20/+39am i the only one who looks at the picture and thinks it was horrible for the school to put the cards and the kids there just for the sake of trying to sway public opinion by bringing in the phototographers. They're just traumatizing the remaining students even more.
- AReallyGoodName, on 01/31/2009, -5/+23Human Shields is a term used by the Israeli side.
"Hey they aren't civilians we killed, they're human shields." - stevo9er, on 01/31/2009, -3/+21***** off loser.
- chillypacman, on 01/31/2009, -1/+19No they didn't bomb the school, just the school yard, and it STILL led to the death of 41 people AND there was no one firing at them from around the school either... except for a video from 2007... apparently Hamas can travel in time now.
- inactive, on 01/31/2009, -1/+19***** thing sucks!

- Xihix, on 01/31/2009, -6/+23Jesus H. Christ, what the ***** is wrong with you?
- Vinsher, on 01/31/2009, -3/+20Agreed. We pride ourselves on being Peacekeepers, yet don't say a word when this ***** happens. We owe the children of the world more.
- ByronT, on 01/31/2009, -20/+37***** WAR!
- nullcodes, on 01/31/2009, -36/+53I blame Hamas also for this mess actually.
That said, life in the Gaza concentration camp sucks.
What's the point of an education? Even if you do well in school you aren't allowed to leave and go to a university abroad to study. Total dependence on UN food, no skilled job prospects.. very low chance of being allowed out of Gaza concentration camp.
Hamas needs to be realistic and offer something other than continuous war. -
