- Rotzooi, on 10/13/2009, -0/+20"Today's published Commons order papers contain a question to be answered by a minister later this week. The Guardian is prevented from identifying the MP who has asked the question, what the question is, which minister might answer it, or where the question is to be found.
The Guardian is also forbidden from telling its readers why the paper is prevented – for the first time in memory – from reporting parliament. Legal obstacles, which cannot be identified, involve proceedings, which cannot be mentioned, on behalf of a client who must remain secret."
Whoa... censorship ahoy. - tomjowitt, on 10/13/2009, -1/+17Story from the Guardian:

"Shortly before the case was due to come to court, Carter-***** announced that its clients would no longer oppose reporting of what was said in parliament about them." - cherrysweet00, on 10/13/2009, -2/+5Go Guardian!

- inactive, on 10/13/2009, -1/+3Except they are not kidnappingthose responsible and you think illiterate teenage pirates are even aware of this whole international dumping conspiracy, it is all about a money grub by poor people with guns.
Also Somalians could more protect their waters if they'd stop acting like barbaric savages and actually install a legitimate government instead of warlords fighting for territory. - bushout, on 10/13/2009, -1/+3I hope no one posts all the carter-***** email addresses in an easy to CC form

- rubbers0ul, on 10/13/2009, -1/+3Despite the fact that the Coast Guard is a sanctioned peace keeping entity by a functioning government, none of the above words can be used to describe Somalia's situation, I'll agree.
- ShootTheCore, on 10/13/2009, -5/+7The Guardian is pretty much the only honourable and decent outfit left in the British press...

- kaelyiesta, on 10/13/2009, -4/+4Related to this is the MSM circlejerk around the somali 'pirates'.
If a foreign nation were to start dumping waste on the coast of california, the coast guard would be there in minutes to detain the perpetrators. That is called justice. When somalis do it and hold those responsible prisoner, they are called pirates. So far in MSM I have seen not even one honest report of this problem. Even if this particular case turns out to be untrue, there are plenty of solid stories of illegal toxic waste dumping(particularly by Italy it seems) and somalis trying to enforce their borders. Admittedly, this doesn't mean there isn't any piracy, but the MSM reporting is so biased on this subject it's absurd. I guess it's more profitable to report on some bad guys and how badly we kicked their asses than point out the nuances of the issue. - rabidgoose, on 10/13/2009, -0/+0More updates here: http://linkthe.com/2009/10/13/gag-order-blocks-gua ...

I mean come on, you get to a new low when you attack Tolkein of all people.
"The Lord of the Rings is racist. It is soaked in the logic that race determines behaviour....it's a fake, a forgery, a dodgy copy. Strip away the archaic turns of phrase and you find a set of basic assumptions that are frankly unacceptable in 21st-century Britain."
