- bobbybebob, on 04/07/2008, -28/+1Site image Mirror: http://uploadingit.com/view/523946_xdzkf
- ziptnf, on 04/07/2008, -0/+22Yeah, a picture of the site ***** helps.
- ziptnf, on 04/07/2008, -5/+36How in the world did 40 diggs kill this server?
- halobender, on 04/07/2008, -0/+21All the admins are drunk.
- cowsgonemadd3, on 04/07/2008, -0/+1They must use a free server...
- alanr19, on 04/07/2008, -1/+11It's pageviews rather than diggs that kill a server. There are usually 50-150 times more pages views than diggs believe it or not.
- xdeliriumx, on 04/07/2008, -3/+3Well I digg and don't even look at the pages! HA!
- Verdanic, on 04/07/2008, -3/+2Why?
.. doesn't that defeat the purpose of... Digg? - xdeliriumx, on 04/07/2008, -0/+2i was being facetious
- Verdanic, on 04/07/2008, -3/+2Why?
- ziptnf, on 04/07/2008, -3/+2No *****, sherlock.
- thailand1972, on 04/07/2008, -0/+10The first 100 diggs of a MrBabyMan post have about 10 page views ;)
- Istrancis, on 04/07/2008, -0/+3[citation needed]
- xdeliriumx, on 04/07/2008, -3/+3Well I digg and don't even look at the pages! HA!
- Kallius, on 04/07/2008, -6/+6I wish people would stop digging articles that can't even be read. The ***** page is ALREADY down and asshats still keep digging it. BURIED for lamest ***** server ever.
- bootrom, on 04/07/2008, -1/+2I think people digg it so they can come back to it later when someone can find a working mirror or the site is no longer down.
- ostracize, on 04/07/2008, -1/+3This is artificially inflating the results. That's why dead and/or ***** sites make it to the front page. Use a real bookmarking service like del.icio.us instead.
- raydar, on 04/07/2008, -0/+2This is why digg needs to have a "save for later" option. This way people wouldn't digg something that they might be curious about but not actually seen yet.
- SlechtValk, on 04/07/2008, -0/+1wish i could digg you up more than once
- bootrom, on 04/07/2008, -1/+2I think people digg it so they can come back to it later when someone can find a working mirror or the site is no longer down.
- JayKeaton, on 04/07/2008, -0/+1This site isn't even worth digging anyway. It is unfinished, it is broken. Still in beta you could say. According to pintprice.com you get free beer in australia http://www.pintprice.com/region.php?/Australia/EUR ...
- brianara3, on 04/07/2008, -0/+0Thats good... because "Lager in Mexico is $1170.67 USD"
http://www.pintprice.com/region.php?/Mexico/USD.ht ...
Stupid "user submitted" price averaging
- brianara3, on 04/07/2008, -0/+0Thats good... because "Lager in Mexico is $1170.67 USD"
- halobender, on 04/07/2008, -0/+21All the admins are drunk.
- alexiocowabunga, on 04/07/2008, -18/+2why is this on the main page, it has barely got any diggs or comments
- souljaboytellem, on 04/07/2008, -1/+4Why must everyone say that when there is either none or a few comments, or less than a 100 diggs?
- notoneofus, on 04/07/2008, -1/+6It's an alternative to writing "first post."
- shayansh, on 04/07/2008, -0/+3Cry me a river
- alexiocowabunga, on 04/07/2008, -4/+1ok ok, sorry, I just thought it was weird it got made popular with 35 diggs and 0 comments, I just thought that was peculiar
- brianara3, on 04/07/2008, -0/+1Stop questioning the algorithm... It just knows how, ok.
- theMADone, on 04/07/2008, -3/+2i for one am with u and anyone else that points out the madness in the 'why is this on the front page with no diggs/comments' just because this comment gets left several times a day doesnt make it any less relevant. digg used to be about content via a popular mandate, not about random blogspam from peeps with enough accounts or friends to get stuff on the frontpage.
- souljaboytellem, on 04/07/2008, -1/+4Why must everyone say that when there is either none or a few comments, or less than a 100 diggs?
- Sauratos, on 04/07/2008, -0/+43Maybe the server is drunk.
- freshyill, on 04/07/2008, -2/+70This is silly. Why is it better to show me this drop-down menu and then choose the currency, when they could just as easily (actually, far more easily) display it in a big table, where you could see all of them at once an *actually* compare them.
- Zera, on 04/07/2008, -0/+12Because the Drop Down menu lets them force you to reload the page, and maybe accidentally (or intentionally) click on the 45 frickin ads per page. This is a crap site purely a scam to get ad money. Buried. Adblock literally blocks the WHOLE page because it's ALL an advertisement. I had to whitelist it to even see the page.
- staeiou, on 04/07/2008, -5/+10How can you get an "average" price of beer? Gold, oil, diamonds, and other things like that I can understand, but beer varies in quality so much that you can pay five times the price for a good beer than you would for a cheap beer. Besides, you can also pay five times as much for a pint in a bar or pub than you would from a grocery or liquor store. Comparing prices of oil or gold makes sense because there isn't a measurable difference in quality once it is purified, but you can't exactly do that with beer.
- tugger, on 04/07/2008, -0/+2Absolutely...
And to describe countries as 'Watering nation' is interesting. As far as watery beer goes, the USA and Australia has got that award, hands down.
- tugger, on 04/07/2008, -0/+2Absolutely...
- Micherik, on 04/07/2008, -1/+6Waiting for site to load, waiting to see my country (Norway) close to the top of the list of most expensive beer..
- Nackaroo, on 04/07/2008, -0/+6I went to Oslo in Norway on the weekend, think it was about £8 a pint in some places. Lucky I had a litre of duty free vodka to get stuck into before I went out and only bought about 4 drinks. the prices are crazy but the pubs and the people were fantastic, maybe it was because of all the vodka??
- professorfurley, on 04/07/2008, -1/+24something is terribly wrong with digg. everything is getting progressively worse.
- xdeliriumx, on 04/07/2008, -0/+17Am I the only one who keeps getting "Your digg has not been saved" type messages all the time now?
- rex84, on 04/07/2008, -0/+9Nope, it happens to me on almost page now.
- comradeTJH, on 04/07/2008, -0/+3No. It's getting really annoying.
- brianara3, on 04/07/2008, -0/+1I also like the "your comment failed to post, please refresh the page and try again."
- HenvY, on 04/07/2008, -0/+5I tried to digg you up, I got the digg has not been saved message. I tried to click view replies, the button just disappeared. I tried to post this comment, and there was a problem completing my request. GJ Kevin.
- xdeliriumx, on 04/07/2008, -0/+17Am I the only one who keeps getting "Your digg has not been saved" type messages all the time now?
- staeiou, on 04/07/2008, -5/+5How can you get an "average" price of beer? Gold, oil, and other things like that I can understand, but beer varies in quality so much that you can pay five times the price for a good beer than you would for a cheap beer. Besides, you can also pay five times as much for a pint in a bar or pub than you would from a grocery or liquor store. Which one am I supposed to input? Comparing prices of oil or gold makes sense because there isn't a measurable difference in quality once it is purified, but you can't exactly do that with beer.
- partysan, on 04/07/2008, -0/+1I have yet to drink a mug of bad beer in the Czech Republic.
- haidalangara, on 04/07/2008, -3/+6...why is this in the image section?
- Triskozko, on 04/07/2008, -0/+69Here are some more alcohol related international facts:
Drinking Ages
Awesome drunken European countries: 16
Most civilized places: 18
Conservative Japan: 20
USA: 21!
And heres yet another fact: THE DRINKING AGE IS 21 HERE!! I can buy an AK-47 but not a glass of wine!!- souljaboytellem, on 04/07/2008, -3/+1Well they might be preparing you having a gun at 18, so that you have it for 3 years, for when you turn 21 you might not do anything stupid with that gun, but seeing what's going on in the news today, they failed
- Ryan0617, on 04/07/2008, -1/+4That's implying that european countries aren't civilised when infact they are some of the most civilised countries in the world.
- fxu1989, on 04/07/2008, -0/+3You are allowed to have a license at 16. A car can perfectly be used as a weapon. In fact, you are riding a weapon. You have far more responsibilities with a car than with a gun.
- souljaboytellem, on 04/07/2008, -1/+1tu che
- Zaggynl, on 04/07/2008, -1/+5Natural Selection is more efficient after people learned how to handle a gun and THEN get drunk.
- Bleue, on 04/07/2008, -1/+2Most of those other countries have gun control laws. Guess the thinking there is that you can have guns or booze but not both at the same time, that could be dangerous... Unless you've reached the mature age of 21...
- dxgg, on 04/07/2008, -0/+621? Mature?! Haha!
- tont0r, on 04/07/2008, -1/+6Saudi Arabia: Outlawed.
Just saying it could be worse.- makkaveli19, on 04/07/2008, -0/+2iran: outlawed
which means there is no drinking age. you can get liquor anywhere - icecoldtrashcan, on 04/08/2008, -0/+1Many middle eastern countries outlaw alcohol. But what you must realize is that opium is legal. Countries often legalize a certain specific drug, due to inherited social acceptedness. For many western countries this is alcohol. Many have said that if alcohol were a new drug, i.e. developed in the past century, it would be made highly illegal in countries such as the UK and US.
- makkaveli19, on 04/08/2008, -0/+1well i know that opium is not legal in iran. however it used to and still is very common in low class communities.
- makkaveli19, on 04/07/2008, -0/+2iran: outlawed
- floridiot2, on 04/08/2008, -2/+2That's because US Americans are ***** idiots.
- souljaboytellem, on 04/07/2008, -3/+1Well they might be preparing you having a gun at 18, so that you have it for 3 years, for when you turn 21 you might not do anything stupid with that gun, but seeing what's going on in the news today, they failed
- alanr19, on 04/07/2008, -0/+9Incorrect for Ireland. €3.07 for a pint in Galway? Milk maybe.
Ireland is a fking rip-off.- souljaboytellem, on 04/07/2008, -1/+2Best. Beer. Ever.
- Ryan0617, on 04/07/2008, -0/+2Thats true, it costs alot more for a beer in Ireland than that. Even taking into account different areas, the average price is way high.
- sagat, on 04/07/2008, -0/+3€5 and up for a pint in a nice Dublin pub on the weekend. Sure you could drink in some crusty old mans bar for less but you wouldn't be able to chase some fine skirt whilst doing it.
- tugger, on 04/07/2008, -0/+3Nice dublin pub..?? Where exactly? I couldn't find one.
I found fantastic pubs in wicklow and along the south coast though. - Myonosken, on 04/07/2008, -0/+2Britain's is a doozy. It's nearly a fiver in London, but in Sheffield Wetherspoons sell pints for £1.05
- rivalius13, on 04/07/2008, -0/+2Well, with all the fosters sold in Galway that brings the average closer to €3. Oh and tennents is €2 in the Hole in the Wall. Proof that students will drink anything, as long as it's cheap.
- Mookeh, on 04/07/2008, -0/+60Buried for inaccuracy. Beer is priceless.
- Lemonion, on 04/07/2008, -1/+15Dead? Buried.
Can some DIGG braniac provide us with a representation of these countries on one page?
Take this data and cross reference it with the info on the Durex page:
http://www.durex.com/cm/gss2004Content.asp?intQid= ...
I need to know which should be the top 10 countries to visit.
I'm poor and do not look like Brad Pitt :D- smoothdogg00, on 04/07/2008, -0/+2You should probably try Slovakia or the Czech Republic (excluding Prague, which is very expensive).
- tugger, on 04/07/2008, -0/+1The beer database should be cross-referenced with a hot chick database...
Cheap beer and hot chicks.. hmmm... Spain, Peru, Columbia, Cuba, S.Africa, Israel, thailand, sri lanka (awesome old colonial brewery), S.Russia and at a push Mexico. - jt18, on 04/07/2008, -0/+1If you guys are serious. You should cross reference with this too: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_ ...
- haidalangara, on 04/07/2008, -0/+6of course it made it to the front page with only like 20 diggs...it was submitted by pizzler.

- gogza, on 04/07/2008, -0/+2I'm worried about the latency of the data on this site.

- 808kick, on 04/07/2008, -0/+5Apparently beer is free in Canada. And to think I've been getting ripped off all these years...
- cbeach, on 04/07/2008, -0/+3Buried as lame. I'm not clicking a combo box and a button 128 times. Particularly not on such a slow server!
- all_about_the_D, on 04/07/2008, -0/+1everywhere ive checked beer doesn't have an average price or is completely free. let's go!
- vidorian, on 04/07/2008, -0/+2I can't say if Utah is the worse in the US but it has the worse prices of any state i have lived in.
http://javaweb.abc.state.ut.us/NASApp/pricelist/Co ...
12oz bottle of Sam Adams $1.89-$2.46 And no shopping around either anything over 3.2% you have to buy from State Liquor Stores. - Jennefah, on 04/07/2008, -0/+2According to them the average price of a pint in the UK is £0.00?
Clearly I've been going to the wrong pubs. - heavystone, on 04/07/2008, -0/+1Finally! Now I can decide were to go on vacations!
- HumanRecall, on 04/07/2008, -0/+1yup after taking 8 hrs of loading apparently it's correct Beer does cost nothing in CANADA
- HumanRecall, on 04/07/2008, -0/+2If it's on the net it must be correct ?
- catachip, on 04/07/2008, -0/+1Canadian beer is free! God bless you Canada, both universal health care and beer!
- scamper22, on 04/07/2008, -1/+0yeah, the government really should have a beer tax. Everyone should have the equal right to get drunk!
Plus we could take out the profit motive and buy beer in bulk, thus reducing the nation's spending on beer as a percentage of GDP.
- scamper22, on 04/07/2008, -1/+0yeah, the government really should have a beer tax. Everyone should have the equal right to get drunk!
- tech9lab, on 04/07/2008, -0/+199 bottles of beer on the wall!
- Vinterblod, on 04/07/2008, -0/+1"Lager in Norway is £0 GBP"
That's great news, I have no idea why I keep spending around £ 5 or 6 (or $ 13-14) for every pint when I go out then.- tugger, on 04/07/2008, -0/+1At least the Norweigan beer tastes of something. Imagine living in a country that charges you $3 for something that looks and tastes (what I imagine to be) like urine.
- itsbob, on 04/07/2008, -0/+2Free beer in Canada!
Road trip!!! - jenjer, on 04/07/2008, -0/+1It's up to 140 countries now!
