- tanmaker, on 07/10/2009, -0/+24***** slideshows
- YanSan, on 07/09/2009, -0/+22Venezuela is not an Island, former soviet republic or singapore.
- cyberdork, on 07/09/2009, -0/+19Singapore is also an island...
- Moggamonstar, on 07/10/2009, -1/+20How the ***** do these Forbes slideshows keep making it to the frontpage? ***** Forbes slideshows.
- Akairenn, on 07/10/2009, -2/+18Iceland's economic collapse worries me.
Vikings, man, vikings. - legolas68, on 07/09/2009, -1/+16They pull this crap to get more ad impressions.
- kavendano14, on 07/10/2009, -0/+15Pretty close words
- mikebritton, on 07/10/2009, -0/+14You'd think Forbes could manage a simple slide show. This was probably the worst slide show I've ever experienced. As I used it, my hope for the future of mankind faded a little.
- 3tcp, on 07/09/2009, -4/+16Apparently I typed Singapore when I meant to type Venezuela. :P
- undervalued, on 07/09/2009, -2/+11Oh, they are certainly making an impression alright. Forbes now written off my visit list (It was never on there but now never will be)
- jezsik, on 07/10/2009, -0/+8They print money really, REALLY fast?
- themostimproved, on 07/09/2009, -2/+8I'm confused at some of the numbers. Ukraine has over 17% inflation but it's purchasing power has grown .5%. HOW.
- angelschambers, on 07/10/2009, -0/+6Well no digg for you and your 10 pages that auto load without permission
- jezsik, on 07/10/2009, -0/+6Right, but this documents greatest fall, not worse off. I doubt Somalia was the least bit affected by the economic collapse.
- bitterprick, on 07/10/2009, -1/+7Singapore is neither Islamic nor fascist.
- guitmusic11, on 07/10/2009, -0/+5That's the worst reload i've ever seen. buried
also 7 ads per page in case you people with adblock were wondering - inactive, on 07/10/2009, -1/+6I think that by hardest-hit they mean countries that used to be very economically prosperous and now can't pay for *****.
- jezsik, on 07/10/2009, -2/+7Except, of course, that it's mostly Buddhist (>50%), a low crime rate and very capitalistic. Let me guess, you have an American education, right?
- shrewduser, on 07/10/2009, -2/+6"Venezuela is not an Island, former soviet republic or singapore."
you sure about that? i was pretty sure it was singapore. - Uriah, on 07/10/2009, -1/+5The basket of goods after the exchange rate (eg, in USD) has decreased in price. This means the exchange nulls the effect of inflation. Else the adjusting of prices in stores was pretty accurate. Also, the goods were relatively lower priced, possibly reflecting retailers lowering their prices to attract demand. The problem being that this can lead to a downward spiral, if the retailers don't earn off of this gamble.
- inactive, on 07/10/2009, -0/+3I know WTF can I not stop the ***** slide show entirely for??? if I hit the stop button that means ***** stop!
- w3ber, on 07/10/2009, -0/+2slides ***** show

- holyskeleton, on 07/10/2009, -0/+2Latvia. got it. forget about the rest
- guitmusic11, on 07/10/2009, -0/+1i bet they missed a (-)
- Presbyterian, on 07/10/2009, -4/+5Give me a break, these so-called "hardest-hit" countries still have pretty high standards of living.
There are plenty of actual poor countries. - Cannonballkid, on 07/10/2009, -1/+2Check out the documentary Life and Debt the Story of Jamaica's Economic Decline. The world bank really screwed that island over
http://www.videosift.com/video/Life-Debt-The-Story ... - jezsik, on 07/10/2009, -0/+1I'll check it out. I read "Bad Samaritans" last year. Awesome book by an economist who explains exactly how free trade really hurts developing countries. Fascinating reading.
- inactive, on 07/10/2009, -1/+2my economy has been worst hit. mine.

- canuckee, on 07/10/2009, -0/+1This mag is corrupted as the big business that it supports. Did you forget that just a while back it choose Enron as the most admired company in America? Enough said!

- aronnyc, on 07/10/2009, -0/+1I'm surprised at Singapore being on the list. I thought they rank pretty high in test scores and are pretty advanced.
- FairDinkumMate, on 07/10/2009, -1/+2@mikesbaker - You might want to try reading the articles on Wikipedia instead of just looking at the pictures...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Singapore#Religion - Sideshowslob, on 07/10/2009, -1/+2The chick in the Venezuela slide has a nice butt.
- Presbyterian, on 07/10/2009, -1/+2Actually those pirates depend on commercial shipping.

- Zervas, on 07/10/2009, -1/+2What's wrong with corporal punishment? Maybe spending 30 grand a year to lock somebody up, not deter them and have them coming back for more doesn't work for other countries. Not only is our method of punishment ineffective but it's unsustainable. Like lots of things American's do; it'll only work for the next few decades while we're still rich.
- philipnorris, on 11/18/2009, -0/+1Kind of deflating to see your own country on a list such as this.
As for the whole "slideshow" approach - why oh why do they do this?! Do they not think people are capable of scrolling down through a list or moving onto the next page when they are ready? Even if it defaulted to the "stop" condition it would be something.
The advertising was pretty much lost on me anyway, I've learned to block them from my vision when viewing sites. - kuzotz, on 07/10/2009, -0/+1I was in Singapore back in March. It was still functioning as an economy. ITs nowhere near as bad as the rest of those countries on the list. ITs inflation is normal, and Singapore was already a highly developed economy that was constantly trading, and now it slowed down slightly and they become one of the hardest hit?
- Uriah, on 07/10/2009, -0/+1***** sideshows
- jezsik, on 07/10/2009, -1/+1Mike, if you wrote clearly it would not be difficult to understand you. For example, you write "I pointed out that there is a difference between numerical majority and political majority ..." yet you did no such thing. You also write "Muslims have no history of enforcing their twisted views on people who don't want them."
I take back my comment about an American education. You were obviously home schooled. - Uriah, on 07/10/2009, -1/+1Free Trade the ideology or Free Trade the organization?
There's a HUGE difference. -
