- KCLorelei39, on 08/10/2008, -0/+3The EU just got sucker-punched, I think.
so-called "experts" predicted (informed) us this spring that there would be $5 a gallon gasoline by Labor Day. It's not like we weren't told this was coming....

Hollywood should start a new Oscar category for "best political/economical B.S. story by "experts".
As for the Moscow vs Georgia - this is like the U.S. Air Force invading a Civil War re-enactment. Buncha bullies, those Russians. - keltin, on 08/10/2008, -1/+2Russia has been incensed with the Clinton-inspired ethnic cleansing of Serbs (Slavic brothers of Russia) in Kosovo, their traditional homeland. By having NATO jets bomb civilian targets in Serbia to break the back of the Serbia military by General Wesley Clark, another Leftist sycophant, the precedent has been set for Russia's actions.
Russia at least has the excuse of this activity happening within a country bordering their territory. It's a smart move by the Russians to be able to completely control the flow of oil to parts of Europe.
It's a tragic situation for the innocents in Georgia. As other tyrannies have found out in the past, if Russia doesn't completely exterminate the Georgians now, they'll have many terrorists and hard-line anti-Russians proliferating by the hundreds of thousands right on their border. - VinBea, on 08/10/2008, -2/+3Another excuse for the global elites / with their global banker counter-parts to jack up oil prices, and send the stock market into another tail spin come Monday.
Perhaps B. Hussein Obama will suggest we start deflating tire pressure, as a potential solution - while McCain asks Cindy for another loan to help finance his bid to be Prez...
Mean while King George is shindigging it with Poppa Bush over in Communist China, opening up a brand new Embassy (bought and paid for by "We the people..."), as though he doesn't have a care in the world...I guess that Paraguay compound - also bought and paid for by tax payer's money - will come in handy sooner than later?
Our elected politicians seriously have Americans over a barrel - all because we failed as a people to hold our politicians accountable for crimes against us - and aren't even trying to hide that fact anymore! - L0cKe, on 05/09/2009, -3/+3Russia is the biggest exporter of oil in the world. They bomb a pipeline. Oil is going to spike up on Monday and reverse the recent decline in oil prices. Bush had his war for oil, now it's Putin's turn.
- inactive, on 08/10/2008, -5/+4Read the article. They have complete air superiority. If Russia wanted to hit the pipeline, they would have hit it. If they didn't, they'd already have gone back and hit it. The article's headline is a fabrication. They responded to an attack on their people. Georgia is a neocon outpost. They're going to get their war in the pale of russia.Get a map and look at it and look at how much of our navy is headed for the Persian gulf.
