- binarysemaphore, on 12/01/2008, -9/+39Can Pakistan explain why Dawood Ibrahim, mastermind behind many blasts in India, is free & drives a mercedes benz in Karachi ?
- hoffa777, on 11/30/2008, -14/+44Very convenient for the Pakistanis to again deny involvement of their rogue intelligence agency ISI and radical Islamists. They also deny proven terrorists training camps and play to the fear of Americans that they will divert troops from the west facing Afghanistan to the Indian border. How is the 'war on terror' more important in the Afghan side and why does India have to periodically explain the Western world the obvious origin of terror. Pakistan government due to international embarrassment will deny all the given proof again and their jehadis will again launch an attack in the pretense of the so called 'Kashmiri cause'. The fact remains that Pakistanis hate India progressing while they languish in medieval misery.

- FI5HERMAN, on 11/30/2008, -3/+22With out a doubt , some one is stirring the pot here !!!!!!
- non00b, on 12/01/2008, -2/+18Clearly Pakistan can't be blamed for having highly-trained commando-style terrorists train for months in their country and take over buildings and rack up a huge death toll. Clearly it isn't their fault.
Meanwhile Osama is kicking back in their tribal zone having a big laugh right now. - montychandra, on 12/01/2008, -11/+26This article seems to suggest that we should not blame the guilty, simply because it might upset someone else's plan. Since when is that part of the transparency that the US seeks in dealing with anyone ?
They should re-title this article from "The perils of blaming Pakistan .." to "The perils of telling the truth" - MalharP16, on 12/01/2008, -3/+17It's about time the US to stops sending billions in "aid" to Pakistan
- vivnair, on 12/01/2008, -13/+24
Pakistan cries foul whenever anyone points a finger at them. For decades they have encouraged terrorism and bred terrorists in their country ( to use in Kashmir), now they wonder why the automatic knee-jerk reaction is to point at them. They have created this menace, now they must be held accountable. It is not enough to want to have normal relations, they must prove they are serious about it. They should hand over terrorists wanted in India as a genuine gesture of intent. Otherwise, India needs to call their bluff on the battlefield. - inactive, on 12/01/2008, -0/+10I wonder what the Middle East would be like today if there was never any oil there. Just saying...
- proliance, on 12/01/2008, -5/+15All the evidence points to Pakistan. All of it.
Burying your head in the sand, or trying to play nice by not offending terrorists is no way prevent another attack. - inactive, on 12/02/2008, -1/+10Dawood's daughter is married to the son of Javed Miandad. Pakistanis and Dawood are relative now.
- thepeacemaker, on 12/01/2008, -1/+8Groups like the Laskar-e-Tayyiba and the thousands of radical madrasas have been funded by the wahabi Saudis for decades, much to the chagrin of the majority Sunni and Shia populations. Wonder who helps keep these wahabi Saudis in power by pumping billions of dollars worth of arms and by setting up bases to protect these terrorist financiers?
- BluesFan, on 12/01/2008, -2/+9India would crush Pakistan in a war,of course they both have Nuclear weapons so millions would die on both sides but in the end India would win.
War is unlikely though. - emailowndme, on 12/01/2008, -0/+7So, you are saying let these 2 nuclear powers just have at it then?
Not saying I support this argument whatsoever, but that point of yours is just dumb. - non00b, on 12/01/2008, -0/+6they are the car of choice for mass-murderers.
- patpl22391, on 12/01/2008, -2/+8Can you really blame him? He and I, as one of the few conservatives on Digg, somehow find ourselves here each day, having to look at the Barack Obama circle jerk that occurs on Digg in every article. If you don't agree with the consensus that has been formulated, you are ostracized by the community.
- inactive, on 12/01/2008, -0/+6We've still got a couple of months left, and I intend to milk it for all it's worth. *sigh* I'm gonna miss blaming Bush for everything.
- Hetman, on 12/01/2008, -0/+5When did we attack Saudi Arabia?
- ortucis, on 12/02/2008, -1/+7Unlike US, India is surrounded by ***** countries that breed these terrorists. Also, unlike US, India actually has a pretty good reason for going to war with such countries.
- oboshoe, on 12/01/2008, -0/+5Yep. Now he even miraculously supports ""non-combat"" troops in Iraq on an indefinite basis.
Tell me. WTF is a non-combat soldier? - ortucis, on 12/02/2008, -1/+6"This is almost as stupid as saying terrorists hate American's because of our freedoms."
If by 'freedom..s' you mean they associate everything about America with everything Christian the same way they associate everything Indian with Hindus and both (Hindus and Christians) being infidels in their eyes and the part where muslims are more happy in these countries than that ***** of a country, a fact they know and despise because their nation was formed to actually make the life of a muslim much better and above every other religion and and and..
Something like that. - sdwilly, on 12/01/2008, -0/+5A term they use to fool the populace back at home, while keeping the soldiers in a combat zone.
- dusanmal, on 12/01/2008, -3/+7BS. Pakistan should learn that fighting terrorism is more important than pretending to be a great country.
"...Indian troops to the border with Pakistan if solid evidence emerges of Pakistani involvement. In that case, Pakistan would be required to move its own troops from the border with Afghanistan..."
If Pakistan learned that lesson and India properly responded by sending troops to the border (no matter how knee-jerk that would be), Pakistan would do best to retreat their own troops from India border and send them against terrorists. Full force. No excuses. Dead AQ and Taliban in large numbers. Such action would be louder than any words and definitely avoid any Pakistan-India conflict. - digglet08, on 12/01/2008, -0/+4The people that title digg articles are idiots. You're completely right
- Asianwaste, on 12/01/2008, -2/+6Why stir it when you can smoke it?
- Ribbys, on 12/02/2008, -0/+4I am of Indian roots, and dont blame the people of Pakistan but its clear some factions of power within Pakistan is causing a lot of ***** so either the good Pakistanis themselves need to root out these ***** or someone needs to do it for them. What happened in Mumbai was a disgrace to the Pakistani intelligence services just as much as the Indian's.
- inactive, on 12/02/2008, -1/+5no conspiracy theory please. Pakistan is the epicenter of terrorism. Almost every terrorist caught around the world is a pakistani.
- tmacfan123, on 12/01/2008, -7/+11Let's see why Indians would blame Pakistan. They have been doing these types of things for so many ***** years, the attack has a lot of similarities to past attacks by Pakistan, Pakistan ***** hates India, and the only guy caught says he's from Pakistan. Pakistan can deny it all they want but everything points to Pakistan. Why the hell would anybody else bomb India right now? Pakistan is the only country that would because they're poor and have nothing to do but try to ruin other countries because they're just filled with a buncha douchebags.
- yacinebouatrous, on 12/01/2008, -5/+8it's always been the same, everytime something happens in India, they blame Pakistan, and the other way around when something happens in Pakistan, this shouldn't be a surprise to anyone. It's been an automatic reaction for a while now.
- twisterrust, on 12/01/2008, -3/+6FTA
He cites several recent terrorist attacks in India that were initially blamed on Pakistan, only to have investigations later reveal that the perpetrators were aggrieved Indian Muslims, and in at least one case, Hindu extremists.
No proof has been released out yet, so I don't know where you get your info from.
also I think even if the proof does come out that these ppl were trained in some tribal area in Pak, does that mean that Pak was backing these attacks? Isn't Pak already fighting these groups and banning them?
lets say that these attackers came out to be Indians, what would that mean? Indian govt terrorizing India? NO?
then how come if they came from Pak, means Pak govt want to terrorize India
these attackers have no country they are *****, plain and simple
//sorry for the rant - SpeedSteamBoat, on 12/01/2008, -7/+10"The fact remains that Pakistanis hate India progressing while they languish in medieval misery."
This is almost as stupid as saying terrorists hate American's because of our freedoms. - inactive, on 12/02/2008, -0/+3Pakistan didnt do it. Some brainwashed pakistanis did it.
- SidiousX3, on 12/02/2008, -0/+3"MWeather" Last time I checked, agreeing with someone is an OPINION, What you are saying is that If I like apples, that I better have proof? That's just ignorant... You are adding to the ostracizing of people that don't agree with all of obama's bitches here on digg. I 100% agree with patpl22391 as one of the few conservatives on digg.
- DreamSpirit3, on 12/02/2008, -4/+7Your argument may seem secure but in reality your comment is more porous than the body of a sponge. I have lived in Lahore, Pakistan for about 1.5 years as a Physician Assistant. I also have much family in India especially around the districts of Mumbai and lived their for much of my life. This allows for me to gather information from multiple perspectives. Now you say that Pakistani's hate Indians. Talking to many Indians and Pakistanis myself and being half of both I can honestly say that is simply not the case. It is the governments which have some political tensions. India, Pakistan were one in the same for hundreds of years. The Muslims and Hindus lived in Harmony. Although they had religious differences they cultural similarities is what brought piece. If you go to a Pakistani movie theater -I can almost gauruante the most watched film will be the one from Bollywood. There are hundreds of reasons that support the above statements. You say that Pakistan is a Medieval Country. Yes Pakistan has much to develop in its border region but that would be like saying that the USA is represented by the state New Mexico. Pakistan is relatively developed. They had one of the first Women Prime Ministers in Modern History. They give women equal rites to men relative to other Muslim countries. In cities like Islamabad, Lahore or Karachi their is no need to wear any sort of head scarf. There are again hundreds of reasons why Pakistan is more developed than most people realize. There is so much that you must learn. You speak your arguments with primitive knowledge of the political concerns. If you anyone in Pakistan about what they think about rebels seeping from the porous border of Afghanistan they will all be met with disgust about them. The way you speak of both India and Pakistan relations are as if you have not stepped into either country and talked to their peoples. In the end this comes down to the peoples of both countries which many seem to forget.
Their is much for you to learn. I truly write this to you will hopefully do some research and build understanding of such topics as this.
Understanding is very important. - tinymarae, on 12/02/2008, -1/+4You are living in your own fantasy world to think that Pakistan has so many allies. The scenario you have imagined would never happen, but even if it did the only countries that would side with Pakistan are some Muslim countries in OIC with their medieval or non existent armies.
1. Russia is a traditional ally of India and has supported India during previous wars.
2. USA has also recently gone out of its way to strengthen ties with India which it sees as a counterbalance to China in the region(Eg: the civilian nuclear deal given to India)
3. China would not get involved unless its own security was at stake( Remember the last 3 Indo Pak wars) - themonkman, on 12/01/2008, -10/+13Stevenoski, what you hate about the far left you exemplify in the far right. Both far left and far right are wrong. They obviously lie about each other and make ridiculous claims like the left hates America and wants Americans to die or the Right is a bunch of fascists who eat the babies of unwedded mothers to save them the same of having bastard children.
The sad fact is that deep down, you know your above comment is *****. Your filled with such irrational rage that you still post audacious remarks like these that you know are wrong. You fight against the far left much in the same ways that the Hatfields and McCoy's fought. You've forgotten the true reason you dislike eachother. Now your just fighting out of spite.
What you need to do, along with all the people on the far Left, is to realize that your petty fighting is a bunch of ***** and it leaves this country in no better shape or enacts any progress. You both need to move towards the center, or at least be adopt modest versions of your rabid leftwing or rightwing rhetoric. - Scrappy1850, on 12/01/2008, -1/+4whoa! in all your rage you forgot to adress his comment. is it the individuals fault? or is it americas fault for making the individual angry?
- tHeSiD, on 12/02/2008, -1/+3america if you want to "win" the "war on terror" you gotta do something about pakistan not just worry about oil..
- FountainDew, on 12/02/2008, -0/+2"How is the 'war on terror' more important in the Afghan side"
Taliban. But don't over think it, rationality isn't a digger's main quality. - inactive, on 12/02/2008, -0/+2BJP jackasses blew ith with the recent statement. If Manmohon makes the right moves and There is amassive reshuffle in Maharashtra you can bet your ass that they are gonna be back in power. Advani has been a Disaster for the BJP. Either get Arun Jaitley or Khuswant singh in the forefront. Because thats the only winable option they have.

Well, you seem to be speaking for the Pakistani government, why can't he do the same for his own? - ortucis, on 12/02/2008, -1/+3You are a retard, but you know that already.
What makes you think the evidence hasn't been presented to them already and they haven't just replied with good old line of 'you are lying' (every pukistani knows the same line)? - ortucis, on 12/02/2008, -0/+2Great point. Such a valid argument.
- patpl22391, on 12/02/2008, -0/+2@MWeather, that's all that Digg is, a regurgitation of talking points from Huffpo, dailykos, thinkprogress, bluetidalwave, crooksandliars, and the rest of those sites.
@Shupy, Would you consider the hate expressed daily by diggers at our current president "vitriol"? I don't think you've hung around Digg enough to really see how WE are portrayed. I don't agree with Stevanoski's opinion on this matter, but I defend him because he's a friend who I agree with on a lot of issues, and he and I both understand what it means to be a conservative on Digg. - VitriolAndAngst, on 12/02/2008, -0/+2>> FTA "A suspected U.S. predator drone attack in the tribal areas on Saturday — one of dozens in recent months — has further alienated a population already suspicious of U.S. interference. "
-- above and beyond whether the predator drones were suspected, or anybody but the US makes them, it's just another example of how Bush sees the world as a backdrop to his own needs and ego. Pakistani sovereignty, stability, or events be damned -- he wants his legacy now, after he ignored it for 7.5 years. I can understand invading them if they harbor bin Laden -- but now is not the time.
Yeah, I don't think we have to go far to connect dots here. -
