- stewacide, on 01/31/2008, -0/+47I can't say enough good things about The Economist.
- LordFuxxles, on 01/31/2008, -0/+2Indeed, nice to see some unbiased journalism sometimes.
- hugetacoman, on 02/01/2008, -0/+2Nice to see The Economist give a fair report. More than one could say about certain online sources.
- coultercrat, on 02/02/2008, -0/+1the cult of the dead cow already did it for you. It's a "dope ass mag"
- newt3k, on 01/31/2008, -0/+17This is more legitimate than Newsweek, Time or just about any other top news magazine. GO!
- wushi, on 01/31/2008, -0/+2should go frontpage now
- londonroad, on 02/01/2008, -0/+2Im amazed this isn't already front page! I found it difficult to find this article actually. When I did a search for 'economist' the article didn't show up. I had to specifically select UPCOMING ARTICLES for this to come up.
- wushi, on 01/31/2008, -0/+2should go frontpage now
- londonroad, on 01/31/2008, -0/+33Wow, this is huge. The Economist is a VERY well respected publication (on a parr with the Financial Times). The article is really well written.
I did not know that the security services in some countries monitor it.
I was staggered to learn that Nancy Cartwright (the voice of Bart Simpson) has made a massive donation to the DANGEROUS CULT.
I guess that would make some people feel a bit less guilty about torrenting episodes of the Simpsons each week. Whilst Nancy Cartwright can clearly afford these donations (she's loaded, right?) many people can't. They are forced into what is tantamount to slave labour. It's disgusting.
I remind people to keep an eye on http://groups.google.co.uk/group/alt.religion.scie ... for news/info
(UK people - does anyone subscribe to $ky TV these days? is there any point?)
I'm quite excited by this.
(Disclaimer: I don't personally support doing anything that is not legal. but I have to say this)- snaipperi, on 01/31/2008, -0/+1The demonstration is legal. What scientology does isn't!
- londonroad, on 02/01/2008, -0/+2(I posted that from work. I was careful not to support DDoSing them even though it provides massive lulz.
By the way, the 4th wave was excellent. on 30 Jan at 2300 GMT I wasn't able to access scientology.org AT ALL. It was down non-stop for a good few hours (at least). - KentAllard, on 02/02/2008, -0/+0I thought it was well known about Cartwright, Scientology is noticably absent in the Simpsons episode where they parody various cults - they didn't want to tick her off
- stewacide, on 01/31/2008, -0/+10...BTW the 'Project Chanology' Wiki should really be straitened up to point visitors first and foremost to a Feb 10th IRL protests near them, since this article will generate a lot of mainstream traffic/attention.
- geeves, on 01/31/2008, -0/+2Also, the forums at forums.enturbulation.org are listing meeting places as well.
- GastonFTW, on 01/31/2008, -0/+2It's a wiki. If you see an issue feel free to straighten it up.
- AnonFawkes, on 01/31/2008, -0/+7DIGG IT UP!

- refuseresist, on 01/31/2008, -6/+2Economist
- guessthememe, on 01/31/2008, -0/+13Agreed, The Economist is just about the most respected publication out there, and the tone of the article is clearly against Scientology. This is a massive win for Anonymous.
- KlogereEndGrim, on 01/31/2008, -0/+11Easily the most well written, best informed, non biased, non sensationalist piece of journalism on this subject so far.
My hat's off to the Economist! - bunt82, on 01/31/2008, -0/+12Dugg...
PS. I stock Battletoads. - Anondelivers, on 01/31/2008, -0/+7Fantastic, easily the best article on this subject so far.
- Ivthypain, on 01/31/2008, -0/+14forums.enturbulation.org is hosting discussions about global peaceful protests.

- GravityExNihilo, on 01/31/2008, -2/+9I'm gonna get a Xenu costume and shoot laser beams at protesters.
pew pew pew!- d3sapar3cid0, on 01/31/2008, -1/+2You're an idiot.

- CoSDidWTC, on 02/03/2008, -1/+0I really wouldn't take anything that remotely resembled a weapon of any sort, however obvious that it's a toy. Co$ might phone the cops claiming you were threatening them with it.
- d3sapar3cid0, on 01/31/2008, -1/+2You're an idiot.

Do not remain silent. Join us and peacefully protest/ - stevo9er, on 01/31/2008, -1/+5The Economist is the best. Great neutral article that just states the facts without over-hyping the actions or intent of either party.
- SeriousBuisness, on 01/31/2008, -0/+1Very nice
- elvenseven, on 01/31/2008, -0/+3Go Economist!
- Ivthypain, on 01/31/2008, -9/+3Could this be buried?
- bunt82, on 01/31/2008, -0/+2sure here u go
- Ivthypain, on 01/31/2008, -0/+5Err I should have stated it better....Is Digg censoring "Anonymous" news?
- coultercrat, on 02/02/2008, -0/+1No the Co$ has organised against us. Just like they swarm online polls they are now swarming anon articles with buries.
- Ivthypain, on 01/31/2008, -0/+5Err I should have stated it better....Is Digg censoring "Anonymous" news?

Should ever be forget."
-Anonymous - KlogereEndGrim, on 01/31/2008, -0/+10http://www.forums.enturbulation.org for the lazy ones ;)
- londonroad, on 02/01/2008, -0/+4Can we DDoS them IRL? I.e. have hundreds of people go into their shops, but don't buy stuff..
e.g. at 2pm on Saturday 3000 people suddenly turn up and start going through all their books -- but never making a purchase. Put the books back on the wrong shelf, overload their staff.. but stay 100% within the law.
It would cost their business a lot. It may help prevent new recruits joining.
UK people - they often have a stall outside the John Lewis department store on Oxford Street. ("Free personality test"). I'm sure we could create epic lulz with those crooks.. like accidentally spill coke on their e-meters etc.- coultercrat, on 02/02/2008, -0/+1Its not nice to do that. I think scientologists have to pay $25 000 even though you could build one for yourself for less than 50.
Although those same people are the ones who are in it for the profit.
- coultercrat, on 02/02/2008, -0/+1Its not nice to do that. I think scientologists have to pay $25 000 even though you could build one for yourself for less than 50.

- d3sapar3cid0, on 01/31/2008, -0/+2"And it is a positive article! (No mention of 'hackers') "
Lulz. They do refer to the dos attacks as a strategy normally used by extortionists and terrorists. I can't say grouping us with terrorists is positive, even if we aren't hackers on steroids. - FallenGriever, on 01/31/2008, -0/+1Anything is better than Faux News. "Go Anonymous, Go!"
- ihasapancake, on 01/31/2008, -0/+1Why thank you!
- LordNugget, on 01/31/2008, -0/+5The Economist will seriously bump the credability of this entire shebang through the roof. Keep going guys! We are Anonymous, we are Legion.
- NiftySwifty, on 02/02/2008, -0/+0I think you'd have much more _credibility_ if you learned how to spell the word in the first place. I'll be surprised if the protest in Austin has much turnout--most of the info about them I've seen describes the protest as being "at the CoS place right next to UT". Unfortunate, considering most of the ANONYMOUS folks don't seem to have ever been within a hundred miles of a university, and seem equally as unlikely to be able to read a map.
- tldr15, on 01/31/2008, -0/+9This should be on the Front Page
- Anondelivers, on 01/31/2008, -0/+2Yes it should, i think Anonymous is getting cencored on this site...
- londonroad, on 02/01/2008, -0/+2Yes, WTF isn't this on the front page?
- Anondelivers, on 01/31/2008, -0/+2Yes it should, i think Anonymous is getting cencored on this site...
- EricBauman00000, on 01/31/2008, -1/+6Dug. My men are doing a great thing. Well done members of ebaumsworld, I feel proud right now.

You must digg it too. - kossy, on 01/31/2008, -0/+2:D
- GregZor, on 01/31/2008, -3/+2this Scientology ***** is the cancer that is killing Anonymous
- SomeoneDigg, on 04/15/2008, -0/+0Sir, here you are NOT ANON!
and even on 4chan oldfags and the kiddies are the cancer killing /b/
- SomeoneDigg, on 04/15/2008, -0/+0Sir, here you are NOT ANON!
- EricBauman00000, on 01/31/2008, -1/+2People making anonymous an identity (defeating the purpose of being anonymous) are the cancer.
- Hoshi101, on 01/31/2008, -0/+2Very nice. Finally, a well-done and accurate article. As you're reading this, I'm sure CO$ lawyers are filing a lawsuit against The Economist. Kudos to the magazine for publishing the truth, and major kudos to the author who had the balls to go against the $cientologists and write the truth.
It's funny. I was mentioning something about $cientology to a friend, and some random person overheard me and said "Hey, do you know about the raid on Scientology on the 10th?". The word is starting to spread. Virtually all my friends knew about it before I mentioned it to them.- nobodyUwannakno, on 02/01/2008, -0/+1What, exactly, can Ava Paquette say in her Ava-Gram that will hold up in a Welsh courtroom? There is nothing actionable in this article for any lawsuit
- nobodyUwannakno, on 02/01/2008, -0/+1What, exactly, can Ava Paquette say in her Ava-Gram that will hold up in a Welsh courtroom? There is nothing actionable in this article for any lawsuit
- hugetacoman, on 02/01/2008, -1/+8Anonymous gets press from the FREAKING economist, yet digg won't allow these stories on the front page?!
- londonroad, on 02/01/2008, -1/+2What's going on? Is this a new rule? did Digg get scared of $cientology's lawyers?
- CoSDidWTC, on 02/03/2008, -1/+0Agreed ... this article currently has 1,263 diggs, there's an FP article with just 303 yet it's not there.
What the hell, mods?
- AerosM, on 02/01/2008, -0/+4And lo, upon Olympus, the mainstream media gods gazed in wonder as the Mortals of Anonymous battled against the legions of hell, commanded by Scientology. There desire to report on the cause checked by there fear of Scientologies supernatural ability to cancel all dissent in there "Zone", through evil demonic lawyers and nasty lawsuits.
And then all gaze in wonder, As the Mighty Economist descends upon it's throne and Proclaims the battle and gives call to the cause of Anonymous!
Seriously, this is BIG. The Economist is the leading International english language news publication. THEIR EDITORIAL BOARD HAS HEADS OF STATE ON IT! And Almost all world leaders read it, on top of Senior government officials, and everyday people!
DIG IT! - AerosM, on 02/01/2008, -0/+2Oh, and here is the best part. The Economist posted the Link to Project Chanology at Partyvan! WIN!
- vlur, on 02/01/2008, -0/+2Cos is burying all these diggs on Scientology. Anyway to prevent this?
- BuckRodger, on 02/01/2008, -0/+1we must digg up what ever they bury - the best bit is most drones think there are about a billion scilons in the world already, this is a crazy lie and the numbers of anon are far greater than CoS -when they start to loose the battle they'll see our numerical superiority and doubt will enter their mind. (unless its just the diggfags tired of us faggin up their website with CoS storys, then meh DIGG IT UP ANYWAY!)
