I had a friend who checked text & email messages. She mis-interpreted so much and lost the relationship. Totally her fault too!

if you overwrite the file multiple times, yes the data is gone..
if you delete something with windows you're just telling windows not to show it anymore, and that section of the hard drive is free to be written on again.
The MFT is just where the information about the files is stored.. even if the MFT was destroyed, the data would still be there, but the filename, details about the file, and probably sector location would be gone.. but it could still be recovered. - BradleyNowell1, on 08/29/2008, -0/+7It doesn't matter how you figure it out, if you learn something about someone that makes you want to break up with them, it's probably a good thing.

There are all sorts of inside jokes, drunk messages, etc. between friends that in context mean nothing but if the girlfriend sees one of them you're "busted".
