- sdocpublishing, on 08/01/2008, -0/+37"...Discovered underneath an overpass by Ozark police after a 30 foot fall, Mace was then tasered 19 times by authorities who said it was necessary for Mace's safety..."
They tasered a child with a broken back injured on the ground for his own safety?
"...and that of the officers who allegedly felt threatened by statements they claim Mace made after the fall."
What?
Healthy, well trained and well armed police were threatened by a child laying on the ground with a broken back?
The officers claim he got up, after a 30 foot fall onto concrete, with a broken leg and broken back, and was yelling threatening statements at the them?
I hope they have dash cameras to back up that statement. - kemp34, on 08/02/2008, -0/+26This story should be front page news on a nationwide basis.
The cops should be tried and put in prison.
All good cops, EVERYWHERE, should denounce such brutality and call for sanctions on these crazy cops giving them a bad name.
Tazed 19 times after falling and breaking your back and shattering your foot? These cops are sick creatures. - inactive, on 08/01/2008, -0/+20I'll let you in on a little secret: the cops are lying.
- inactive, on 08/02/2008, -0/+19along with the skater kid, the guy getting body checked off the bike...and numerous other incidents...i hope we are noticing a pattern here people...the cops can lie and get away with it even with lots of witnesses...video evidence is the only thing that holds up against these guys..."To Protect and Serve"?...yeah right...
- inactive, on 08/02/2008, -0/+16Wow that teen sure looks scary. He must be all of 110 -120 lbs. Imagine how threatening he would be with a broken back after falling 30 feet. No wonder the cops were so frightened. I'll bet that was real close call. /sarcasm
- MizSwann, on 08/02/2008, -0/+13Wow...I sure feel better knowing I'm being both protected. - and served - by these upstanding individuals!
I've been protected from such evils as human dignity, common decency, and Constitutional Rights...while at the same time I'm being served a warm pile of Bull Sh!t...all for a measly 33.333% of my gross income.
Whadda Deal !!
I can only thank God these brave Men In Uniform werent swiftly dispatched by this (albeit slightly built) monster who craftily leapt 30 feet flat onto his back in an effort to distract these heroes from their duty!
What a Travesty of Justice it woulda been if they'd simply offered medical help and allowed the law of the land to decide the rest...
High-five - Men In Blue!! WooHooo!!
/ass hats/ - Minarchian, on 08/02/2008, -0/+10Next up,
"Ladies and Gentlemen. After thorough investigation we have determined that the officers had followed proper procedures. This is the reason we don't hire those with higher I.Q.s....otherwise we'd have an epidemic of thinking cops questioning those procedures".
Watch out folks, proper procedures are to terrorize and torture the citizens. And a year from now we'll learn they each received medals for valor and bravery for this.
Don't forget. Tasers are called "tools" by politicians and other big government lovers because we are the "tools" for putting up with this *****. - Heysal, on 08/02/2008, -0/+9Lets not forget they also killed a violently dangerous woman in a wheelchair with the tasers, too - she must have been frightning to our new our new breed of Fascist Cowards in Uniform. I hope that kid lives independently wealthy off the law suit for the rest of his life - and I hope he uses half of the funds he gets to help stop the formation of a militia police force on our soil.
- inactive, on 08/03/2008, -0/+8yes...but we get to hear his side of the story this time..
- inactive, on 08/03/2008, -0/+8I hope he remembers everything eventually. I'd love to hear the entire story from him.
- smashdracs, on 08/03/2008, -0/+6Last year New Zealand Police trialled Tasers as a front line weapon. They later tried to cover up the fact that during the trial 40% of the incidents where the Taser was used by police they IMPROPERLY FOLLOWED PROCEDURE when using them.
- inactive, on 08/03/2008, -1/+5This is like the tenth story about the same tasered teen.
- GovernmentSp00k, on 08/03/2008, -0/+3Was that level of tasering really necessary?
- johndi, on 08/03/2008, -0/+2With the amnesia part of the story I'm wondering if the cops did more than just tase him. Maybe the city of Nashville wasn't lying when they said that tranquilizing people with Midazolam is becoming a common police tactic.

- sindex, on 08/05/2008, -0/+1But... but... they're cops! They'd never lie. It's their job to serve and protect, and we hire only the best and brightest.
- Truzseeker, on 08/04/2008, -0/+1time to sue and take the bastards to any federal grand jury
- stew00mz, on 08/04/2008, -1/+2What good Cops? You would have better luck finding a Unicorn.
