- Taquoshi, on 12/02/2007, -1/+15Tammy Bruce broke rank with the established feminist movement when Nicole Brown Simpson was murdered. Since then, she had pointed out that the feminist movement came to the defense of a Texas woman whose name I can't remember right now that drowned her five children. So, their silence is almost, well for lack of a better word, predictable. Their silence speaks loudly.
- 2knights1horse, on 12/02/2007, -1/+15So I guess you would be just fine with Nazi Germany then, you know, because every country has a right to have their own laws. And since the holy grail of the left is "all cultures are equal", who are we to judge.
- Indyanna, on 12/01/2007, -2/+15FTA: "Calling attention to abuse, violence and oppression is something the left claims it does, but these days they’re more than willing to throw those who need our voices under the bus. Their obsession is to make sure the leftist false construct of an evil George Bush and oppressive United States won’t be eclipsed by the truth — the truth of a world where our enemy targets women on a daily basis for terror, torture, oppression and murder as our troops risk and give their lives to banish that horror from the lives of tens of millions."
Amen. Preach it, sister! - DanThePainter, on 12/02/2007, -1/+13>...it is against the law for one to name stuffed animals "Muhammad" in many countries....>>
So then why is the woman being punished? The students named the toy. Why didn't the Muslim leaders use this opportunity to impose a kid-appropriate punishment to them, thereby giving them a lesson in doctrine? - inactive, on 12/02/2007, -1/+9" . . . it is against the law for one to name stuffed animals "Muhammad" in many countries."
Do you have a *credible* source for this assertion? I have read several articles interviewing various Muslims in these primitive societies who indicated it was common for kids to do this. - pitlord, on 12/02/2007, -2/+6Suddenly, the LGF blog entry referencing this article hits the top of digg while the original submission languishes at the bottom of the heap.
> - DanThePainter, on 12/03/2007, -0/+3>...We don't read about women beaten and thrown from a bus in Jerusalem because they didn't give up their seat to a man.... why isn't this news? - or when Christians are spit upon by orthodox Jews in Jerusalem? -- not news?....>>
Please link to one story about each of the conducts described; just one will do. - wellikoff, on 12/14/2007, -0/+2Feminists are no respecters of justice -- much less law -- once it suits them.
- Xeboprime, on 12/02/2007, -10/+0As I see it, this is not a feminist story, it is a legal story. Apparently, as stupid as it sounds, it is against the law for one to name stuffed animals "Muhammad" in many countries. People that voluntarily go to other countries need to know and respect their laws or face consequences. I recall a Cuban immigrant living in Florida that beat his unfaithful wife. Apparently, as stupid as this is, this is protected under the law in many Hispanic cultures. The man, having not respected the law of the United States, was convicted. So don’t be fooled into accepting the premise that this is a feminist situation.
