- shamnvik, on 07/18/2008, -1/+60These are pretty hard if you're not an American
- jmk4422, on 07/18/2008, -3/+42"Whenever the people are well-informed, they can be trusted with their own government." --Thomas Jefferson to Richard Price, 1789.
You think if he were alive today he'd trust people with their own government, given the results of polls like this? - angusm, on 07/18/2008, -1/+39Judging by the results of their study, it seems that they're pretty hard even if you _are_ an American.
- zanothrope, on 07/18/2008, -2/+39If you can't pass this test, then don't bother putting your stupid comments on the political posts.
- DeskFlyer, on 07/18/2008, -3/+37Pew pew, laser fight.
- JoeB4ever, on 07/19/2008, -1/+32Page Load Error???
what percentile am I? - jimbohawkins, on 07/18/2008, -3/+31The saddest thing is that people destroyed the Oprah question, but pretty much failed at everything else...
- geneticlemon, on 07/19/2008, -7/+29Wait, I thought the DOW Jones Industrial Average dipped below 11,000 this week ...
http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/d3194f54-52cf-11dd-9ba7- ...
Which would make it closer to 10,000 and not 12,000 .... I WANT MY POINT, DAMNIT! T_T - nymphetamine, on 07/19/2008, -0/+19Hey guys, lets all post our scores in the comments!
- FizixMan, on 07/18/2008, -0/+19I managed to get 59th percentile and I'm Canadian.
Admittedly, it was difficult. Some of them I knew, some I just had to guess. - AKBryant54, on 07/19/2008, -0/+18Why is he being buried? The DOW slipped below 11,000 on July 15th! If this quiz was written around that date, the answer would have been 10,000...
- chaos7, on 07/19/2008, -1/+17everyone get off the site so i can go on it
- TheGoat7, on 07/18/2008, -7/+22I can't believe my age group are in the 30 percentile. Although I do know a lot of stupid people.
I missed Question 5. (Do you happen to know the name of the current majority leader of the U.S. Senate?). That's it.
Male 18-29 Some College - inactive, on 07/18/2008, -4/+1812/12
Yay me!! Where's my gold star? - m1a2c2kali, on 07/19/2008, -0/+14considering the DOW has been hovering around 11k lately it was kinda tricky having 10k and 12k as answers
- mardybum, on 07/18/2008, -2/+16I got 69%... for being a female who just graduated HS, that makes me feel smart. For being a digger, that makes me feel dumb...
- AKBryant54, on 07/19/2008, -2/+15Buried for ***** pathetically ill informed.
- ChiffX, on 07/19/2008, -0/+119/12*
well, there goes me looking good. - luther70, on 07/19/2008, -2/+1311/12 - Embarrassing I missed the question on the DOW and I work at a financial institution.
- Tangaroa, on 07/19/2008, -0/+10That typology quiz changes its results based on whether you identify yourself as liberal or conservative, or a Democrat or Republican. Keep the first 25 answers the same and just change the last two sliders and it will change to what it thinks you might want to hear. I was transformed from a liberal to a pro-government conservative without changing any of my views.
- KMye, on 07/18/2008, -1/+11Even sadder that that's the only question on which women scored better than 9 points less than men...
- monsieurginger, on 07/18/2008, -0/+10Both.
- PhilLesh69, on 07/19/2008, -0/+9100th percentile. I can't load it either.
They only let morons take that test. - chaos7, on 07/19/2008, -0/+9i need a ***** mirror bitch
- a2zb2b, on 07/19/2008, -0/+9I have to admit, that's pretty cool.
- Farik, on 07/19/2008, -7/+16Dugg for female.
- inactive, on 07/18/2008, -3/+1211 out of 12, not bad for an Aussie
- monsieurginger, on 07/18/2008, -1/+10While I consider my self a full pledged American, technically, I was born with 3 citizenships (there is nothing I can do about that) and that is what I meant by 1/3 American.
From my Profile: "Born on a secular kibbutz in Israel. Now living in USA. Mechanical Engineering major. Dad born in the US, mom born in Tunisia. I'm a citizen of Israel, France, and the United States. Interested in many things but don't have the time for everything."
My mom was born in Tunisia but the family moved, or rather fled, to France in 1961 when she was 6 months old. According to the citizenship laws of Israel, France and the United States, I was given citizenship from all three countries at birth. Freaky eh? - txchica, on 07/19/2008, -0/+8Oh Phil, that "holding a slim majority" still means that they are the "majority" party, which is why they control the house. You only need one more vote to be considered in the "majority". And thanks for that completely unrelated, but informative history lesson. What was that about?
- D3koy, on 07/19/2008, -0/+8404 baby, read it and weep!
- IronTek, on 07/19/2008, -1/+912/12
Though, in all fairness, I do get a large chunk of my news from the Daily Show, so... - inactive, on 07/19/2008, -4/+11You're a 9/11 troofer. No one is even close to threatened by your "intellectual prowess"
PS: It's kind of hard to claim that you're smarter than everyone else when you make statements like "turn OF fox news"... - sturmgiest, on 07/19/2008, -0/+7These were basic news questions if anything. If you are an american, theres no reason you shouldnt know atleast 9/12. I got 11/12, just missed the Serbia question because Im not familiar with the conflict or the outcome. Even casually picking up news these should be known.
- barfooz, on 07/19/2008, -0/+7And that is why the Founding Fathers created a republic, not a democracy. I would wager that people's low awareness of current events is not just a phenomenon of our time.
- themastersb, on 07/19/2008, -1/+8I got OVER 9000!.... or at least that's what I assume I got since the page didn't load.
- inactive, on 07/19/2008, -0/+6A lot of people on this comment page have a sense of need to prove themselves.... "12/12 and I'm a white chick with one leg and from a 3rd world country that doesn't have running water blah blah blah".
Makes me laugh. Out loud.
Actually, I'm just jealous cause I can't prove myself right now... the server is down. - ostracize, on 07/19/2008, -1/+7Makes sense in theory but there are a ton of PhDs who don't know ***** about politics and high school drop outs who know what's going on. I still think voters should be able to answer a small quiz to signify their vote has been thought through. People have to fill out a test to get their citizenship, why don't people have to study up to submit their vote?
- txchica, on 07/19/2008, -1/+7I also passed with 12/12, so I'm not sure why all these people are having a hard time with this quiz, it wasn't exactly tough.
- ostracize, on 07/19/2008, -1/+776 percentile and I'm Canadian. Maybe I care about US politics too much.
- jerger23, on 07/18/2008, -3/+9Only missed the last question.
- coltrane68, on 07/18/2008, -1/+7How can one be 1/3 anything? One has to be some power of 1/2 to divide loyalties. Being 1/3 Americans implies having three parents, only one of whom is American.
- strupatn, on 07/19/2008, -0/+6Must... validate... self...
- hwy61revisited, on 07/18/2008, -11/+16I'm one of the suckers who only got 50% correct... :(
Female, 18-29, some college - Crucible1001, on 07/19/2008, -0/+5Or a lot of people that don't care about politics.
- inactive, on 07/18/2008, -4/+9Missed 1 (can't believe I blew the final question). 91%. Test fails for having an Oprah Winfrey correct answer in a "news" quiz...
- galanz, on 07/19/2008, -1/+6Not that bad, 69th percentile for a Canadian.
- dsmx, on 07/18/2008, -4/+9I'm not even american and I managed 10 out of the 12 correct, considering most of those question were for americans I think I did quite well.
