- jericho4119, on 11/16/2008, -1/+42Excuse me? 15 of the 19 hijackers were Saudi Arabians - not Syrian.
Saudi Arabia and the US are supposed to be allies; Syria has long been considered an enemy of the US - or at least an antagonist.
That being said: al Qaeda is a Sunni terrorist organization; while Syria is a majority Sunni nation, we also accuse them of being too closely tied with Iran and Hezbollah - a majority Shia nation and a Shia organization we see as supporting terrorism.
Accusing Syria of harboring al Qaeda members seems to counter that prevailing wisdom and I have yet to see the unification theory on how Syria maintains close ties between two such hostile groups that in Iraq, al Qaeda declared open war on Shia groups and fighters from Iran. - Batmaster1337, on 11/17/2008, -12/+49Why so Syria?
- jericho4119, on 11/16/2008, -6/+34I was interested in the article - until it revealed itself as just another organ for an outside "resistance" group, based in Europe.
After our disastrous experience with Ahmed Chalabi and the Iraqi National Congress (we could not have forgotten his lies already, have we?), we should all take these folks with axes to grind a little less seriously. - pimpofpixels, on 11/17/2008, -10/+35Propaganda, meet Digg.
Digg, meet Propaganda. - inactive, on 11/17/2008, -5/+22^^^
LOL, you are just an excellent source of entertainment. Don't ever change.
Question: Do you check under your bed for "zionist jew neocons" before you go to sleep each night? - tendonut, on 11/17/2008, -2/+19It's not like Al-Qaeda just appeared on September 11th. They have been in the news for decades! Just because YOU discovered them on 9/11 doesn't mean the rest of the world was blind. I can go to Japanese news site articles from the late 90's and see Al-Qaeda stuff.
- inactive, on 11/17/2008, -1/+16@otdvash - hahaha - but at least the US isn't a dictatorship in which governmental leadership is passed down from father-to-son. (Our father-to-son hand-overs skip an administration, and depend on votes.)
- inactive, on 11/17/2008, -0/+15"You dont support him because youre another jew neocon who supports the US attacking itself on 9/11 while all the israelis get warned via odigo."
That is some high quality internet mental masturbation right there! Do you have a special prisonplanet RSS filter? - inactive, on 11/17/2008, -3/+16Hmm you might be on to something.
Just to be safe, you should go out in public trying to scream this to anyone you can while handing out ron paul flyers.
OH *****! There's a neocon under your bed! Watch out! - randyzaia, on 11/17/2008, -0/+12I think you're mixing up Syria and Saudi Arabia.
- IHaveCrayons, on 11/17/2008, -6/+19For people who say neocons game digg, I think you're wrong. Seriously... how many anti-palin, anti-Bush, anti-EVERYTHINGNEOCON stories on the front page do you need to see that? If they're gaming it they suck really really bad.
- SidiousX3, on 11/17/2008, -5/+17lol stop preaching, nobody likes you
- CATSCEO2, on 11/17/2008, -1/+13And your digg user name is ericlbn27.
- inactive, on 11/17/2008, -0/+12"It's Ron Paul supporters like these which makes Paul supporters like myself look like a bunch of crazies."
Oh boy if I had a dime for each time I've heard that one before... - inactive, on 11/17/2008, -0/+11lol FAIL
try Saudi Arabia - inactive, on 11/17/2008, -0/+12Yeah, wrong evil Middle Eastern fanatical Muslim government that treats women like crap and hates Jews.
Get it straight buddy! - inactive, on 11/17/2008, -1/+12Well, on one hand, there's the more than decade long physical, testimonial, observational evidence, and on the other, there's a nutjob rambling.
I'll get back to you when i'm done thinking. - inactive, on 11/17/2008, -1/+11This really is a reflection of the idiocy of digg that your comment is actually close to zero.
- inactive, on 11/17/2008, -6/+16Question: When you get dressed every morning, how do you decide between putting on your tinfoil hat or white hood?
- brandita, on 11/17/2008, -3/+11Syria, how could you? I thought we were friends.
- pintomp3, on 11/17/2008, -8/+16neocons and warmongers like the submitter don't care about such fact checking. they like to cherry pick the evidence that will let them justify more war.
- elipabst, on 11/17/2008, -2/+10So the Kenya and Tanzania embassy bombings, USS Cole attack, and the first bombing of the World Trade Center...those were all just ploys to throw us of the US gov't tracks so they could bomb the World Trade Center a *second* time!
Wow and they would have gotten away with it if it wasn't for your meddling trackerbishop! - TheDougem, on 11/17/2008, -0/+7@trackerbishop
...ok, if our government was seriously that good, why aren't we the undisputed masters of the world? Christ man. I've seen conspiracy theories, but you make truthers look sane. - inactive, on 11/17/2008, -14/+21"There is no such thing as al qaeda, US ops made it up in order to use it as a justification for invading a sovereign nation."
Your tinfoil hat is on too tight.
As someone who doesn't support Ron Paul, not only do I approve -- I encourage you to go out into public and make statements like these when telling others about him. - inactive, on 11/17/2008, -5/+12Ya, I bet 9/11 was a fabrication to huh? 3,000 Americans weren't murdered by Islamic terrorists? It's all in our heads? The bombings in India, in Israel, in London, in Indonesia are all myths?
- inactive, on 11/17/2008, -5/+12Reported for "a jew submitter." Anti-semitic troll. You should at least try to play the game and thinly veil your belief in a pure blood Aryan nation.
Speaking of gaming digg. The anti-Jew crowd seems to be pretty good at it. They even give their digg usernames. I don't see anybody I've ever heard of on digg in your "neocons game digg" link (as if only conservatives don't worship hitler)
http://digg.com/people/Digg_Trolls_Find_Solace_In_ ... - inactive, on 11/17/2008, -0/+7LOL, I don't know what is worse, this guy's comment, or that 16 people agree.
- CraigCarlyle, on 11/17/2008, -6/+13Good thing your say means nothing.
- chirwan, on 11/17/2008, -1/+8I'm from Syria and I can confirm that the worst place to go to prison is in Syria.. there are no rights period, they beat you and starve you until you literally eat *****.. once they are done beating you up you will go back to some dark, cold place they literally can't afford to feed you or keep you in a place that has heat or lights nor is there a system for re-trails pardons etc. if you got sentenced to 15 years that's what you will be doing. if you show any sign of Resistance to the government you will be ***** literally, physically and psychology, after 5 years Syrian officials can get you to admit anything they want. they can make you say that you raped your own mother if they want.. the best thing that can happen to you is that you get sick and die.
Being a terrorist in Syria is really bad but this doesn't mean that Syria does not harbor terrorists. Syria is generally anti-Israeli and pro Islam, and so is about 90% of the population but this doesn't mean they are not pro-American. I believe most of the population recognize the freedoms that the American people enjoy however it conflicts with their culture and their believes since they are about 50 years behind.. they are now just getting Internet on dial up. there is no education etc. and the country is poor.
If USA went to war with Syria i imagine it would be an over-night-job and done in morning if they didn't care for civil an casualties. - inactive, on 11/17/2008, -1/+8@trackerbishop "Israelgirl = jew" ??? Really? Gee, she could be a Baha'i, a Muslim, a Christian, a Druze, a Beduin, a Copt, an Ethiopian. She's a jeeeooooo? Wow. Thanks for the info. I shall certainly drop her like a hot potato from my friends list. And otdvash is "such a testy little piece of propagandizing trash..." Holy macaroni -- I will have to PURGE my friends list.
- NoLibertarians, on 11/17/2008, -1/+8Why should I trust either guy ? because you say so ?
- Mujokan, on 11/17/2008, -0/+5PS to say I just read the rest of your post, and you have serious issues!
- inactive, on 11/17/2008, -0/+6Not very eloquent, but I do agree.
- NoLibertarians, on 11/17/2008, -0/+6Look Like ?
- inactive, on 11/17/2008, -4/+10I was thinking of all the Ron Paul/ free market spam actually
- inactive, on 11/17/2008, -3/+9Oh ok. So you don't hate jews, but you use the fact that their jewish in a disparaging manner?
- inactive, on 11/17/2008, -0/+6Oh and I want to say I think Syria is miles ahead of KSA btw. At least Syria will negotiate peace and isn't scared to shake hands with a Jew.
- inactive, on 11/17/2008, -11/+16I feel bad for Syrians. Good people and yet incompetent and evil government... wait, that also sorta sounds like US lol.
- TheDougem, on 11/17/2008, -11/+16This really shouldn't surprise anybody. Harboring and supporting terrorism then denying it is standard operating procedure for most of these countries. The fact that we've let them get away with it unchallenged for so long is shameful. I'm not saying depose the leadership - but we could have at least announced our extreme displeasure the instant we knew arms and manpower for the insurgents was coming from Syria friggin 4 years ago!
Bush's failure to handle this properly is one of the biggest reasons I am unhappy with him. - MrSlumberjack, on 11/17/2008, -1/+6***** off, please.
- TheDougem, on 11/17/2008, -0/+5No, the majority of us aren't. You just have a lot of vocal, angry people on the internet. Most of us just sit back and watch.
- monsieurginger, on 11/17/2008, -1/+6Russia. FAIL!
- inactive, on 11/17/2008, -1/+6@trackerbishop - thanks for the clarification. I thought that you were a raving anti-Jews maniac for a minute. Again, thanks for the heads-up that you are okay.
Your ally,

The Syrian regime has been fighting bloody wars with Sunni fundamentalists at home and in Lebanon (in Tripoli), they are about the last Arab government who would willingly harbour al Qaeda. Try Saudi Arabia for that, your best buddies in the Middle East. Or even Israel which was funding, training, and arming those Sunni fundis and sicking them on Syria and on the PLO in the 1980s.
- inactive, on 11/17/2008, -1/+5Of course, only a person named Israeli girl could be a Jew. We know their religious beliefs are verified along with a confirmation email when they register.
- Enasni1212, on 11/17/2008, -2/+6Openly? If the 9/11 attacks weren't open, I'd hate to see what is. Just because no nation would declare war on the U.S. doesn't mean that there aren't consequences for our belligerence.
- RobotPimp, on 11/17/2008, -6/+10Holy...A political article on digg, and it isn't just some drooling leftwingers calling Bush a monkey? Excuse me, I think I might be dead or something...
- moulin1, on 11/17/2008, -0/+4I love how you idiots keep saying the majority of the American poulation is anti-american. If you are the minority it is you who are anti-american. If YOU don't like our country then YOU can leave.
- moulin1, on 11/17/2008, -0/+41. The family targeted are typical bedouin smugglers. They will transport anything or anyone accross the border if they have cash to pay. They have no political affiliations.
2. Secular governments in the middle east like Syria are under far more threat from islamic extremists than the US. They have been fighting the "war on terror" for over a thousand years. They don't ally themselves with their enemies.
3. The Syrain policing of the 400 mile border may be ineffective. But the US/Iraqi side of the border is completely unmanned.
4. As usual the raid racked up collateral damage with no enemy casualties. Whatever your political views a failed military operation is nothing to crow about. - inactive, on 11/17/2008, -0/+4You, telling us to read?
Now that is irony. WOW! -
