- daoism, on 12/10/2007, -0/+3This is monumental. It opens the door for softer sentences for nonviolent drug offenders. Currently the mandatory federal sentences forces some states to impart longer prison time for marijuana possession than for murdering or raping someone. Let's face it, the 'war on drugs' is a complete failure and this is one more step toward ending this failure.
- PHiZ187, on 12/10/2007, -1/+1Once again Justice Clarence Thomas turned his back on the black community, by voting to uphold a 100x dispartiy between crack cocaine (the majority of prosecutions of which are against blacks), and powder cocaine (the majority of prosecutions of which are against whites.) He is truley an awful, cowardly, self-loathing human being.
