- hcoimbra, on 04/24/2009, -5/+40I bet their ballots will still be counted faster than here in the US.
- inactive, on 04/24/2009, -2/+31Reminds me of the game Snake.
- Tiak, on 04/24/2009, -1/+16Why does it really matter to you how long it takes? We tend to have a reasonably accurate count in federal elections within 12 hours of polls closing. We just happen to make sure to count everything after that point, including ambiguous ballots others would disregard...
It isn't like our constitution didn't leave us loads of time for this stuff. - Nerfdude, on 04/24/2009, -1/+14wow, a post about africans voting and not one racist comment. considering Digg is like 95% 4chan users now, this is shocking.
- powerhouse, on 04/24/2009, -2/+15rape, racketeering, and corruption...... Is Jacob Zuma really the best politician South Africa has to offer?
- saucy05, on 04/24/2009, -0/+12Just because they have 10% white population? Which by the way majority of them are born and raised in South Africa. Now go ahead and tell them they are not Africans.
- OomBok, on 04/24/2009, -0/+10Opposition leader Helen Zille is a phenomenal politician, but it seems that the uneducated masses aren't quite ready for her yet. At least the DA won the Western Cape, seems we're the last bastion of sanity in this country.
- EpicSelekta, on 04/24/2009, -2/+10South Africa is actually a very good democracy. There is no credible evidence of rigging, nor are there dictators. You're thinking of central African countries.
- aeroameet, on 04/24/2009, -0/+7democracy f**king turns me on!
- Sheaan, on 04/24/2009, -0/+7Dugg for determined voters.
- powerhouse, on 04/24/2009, -0/+6I didn't realize Bush was running in the SA election. I also find your "two wrongs make a right" philosophy intriguing.
- cl2yp71c, on 04/24/2009, -0/+6I read that as South African Electrons.
/facepalm - LostOutEast, on 04/24/2009, -0/+6I hope you realize that that makes absolutely no sense. South AFRICA is located (guess where?) in AFRICA. Australia is not. I don't even get what the point of your comment was...
- blingbin, on 04/24/2009, -0/+5omg wow... just ***** WOW
- smrekar, on 04/24/2009, -0/+5Man they have huge hands!!! or small passports.
- inactive, on 04/24/2009, -2/+7Yes!
- LonesomeFighter, on 04/24/2009, -7/+12it is pretty easy to count when you pre-plan the verdict before the votes. i kid i kid, i have no idea if South Africa as a whole plays by the rules or not.
- louiebaur, on 04/24/2009, -6/+11Can't wait to go visit some of the skateparks there. Er um and my wifes family too:-)
- jimw428, on 04/24/2009, -0/+3Stop using Digg to pimp your book, you ***** spammer!
- Yazoo, on 04/24/2009, -0/+3South African Elephants for me :(
- jimw428, on 04/24/2009, -0/+3What's so great about leading the country down the path to economic collapse? Can you name a single country in Africa that has prospered with a government headed by an illiterate tribal thug? In spite of it's great wealth, SA will soon follow the path of Zimbabwe to social calamity and financial ruin.
- VisualRhetoric, on 04/24/2009, -3/+6California needs to take one thing from the SA elections...Require ID before voting!
- Trichomonas, on 04/24/2009, -1/+4Don't get your hopes up...it's because most "4chan" people wouldn't have given this post a second glance, much less commented on it. Hence no racist comments.
- originaldna, on 04/24/2009, -3/+6This makes the U.S election looks like a scam they have 40 different parties to choose from, meanwhile in the U.S you have 2 party where almost a billion is spent for a job that's half a mill a year. Where is the kick back son?
- inactive, on 04/24/2009, -3/+6Its sad to think these people are wasting their time.
- RMR0945, on 04/24/2009, -3/+5that line was well thought out
- dwmead03, on 04/24/2009, -0/+2Same!
- inactive, on 04/24/2009, -0/+2Good for them. And best of luck to them.
- SupremeLeaders, on 04/24/2009, -2/+4You're a moron you know that?.
What does Bush have to do with South Africa?. - ADF237, on 04/25/2009, -0/+2The Un doesnt give food aid to South Africa. We're not Ethiopia. Ignorant twunt
- lukedamonkey, on 04/24/2009, -3/+5those pictures made me happy, for some reason.
- HanSolo69, on 04/25/2009, -1/+2(comment about the unemployment line)
- Kvasaari, on 04/25/2009, -0/+1*cough* Bush *cough*
- DouglasQ, on 04/25/2009, -0/+1You horrible ***** person
- AmishMack, on 04/25/2009, -0/+1Well since no one else will quote Cartman;
"My mom says there's a lot of black people in Africa." - Yazoo, on 04/24/2009, -0/+1probably the only well thought out thing about this election...
- tymdautyt, on 04/27/2009, -0/+1In Vietnam, they come to your house to get you to vote even though we already knew the result.
- Sejes89, on 04/30/2009, -0/+1I'm afraid this is the case with most African countries.
- Yazoo, on 04/24/2009, -1/+2Although the votes are counted fairly accurately, it is the people who feel that they are forced into voting one way or another that makes many of these elections unfair.
- inactive, on 04/25/2009, -0/+1My friend is a blond guy that was born in S. Africa. I made him an iron on T-Shirt that has the S. African and US flags (he got citizenship last year) and in bold letters "Proud African American".
He gets a lot of strange looks when he wears that shirt here. - jimw428, on 04/24/2009, -0/+1Stop using Digg to pimp your book, you ***** spammer!
- FoxFaction, on 04/24/2009, -0/+1Wow, that's a lot of candidates.
- bjs3171, on 04/24/2009, -0/+1you know, i think they might be able to tighten up those bends in the line, just a bit.
- eramos, on 04/24/2009, -8/+9Well their elections aren't brought to them by Diebold, so yeah, they're probably better than ours.
- reverant, on 04/27/2009, -0/+1They could have been more efficient if they didn't have so much space between their lines where the wrapped around.
- wysjounommer, on 04/24/2009, -0/+1Unfortunately the next president of SA is a total nutter in the genre of many other democratically elected African leaders. Jacob Zuma's election is not an event that should be admired, its a dark day for South Africa. This guy's victory song is called 'Bring me my Machine gun'.
- TruBlu2, on 04/24/2009, -0/+1God invented commercials and ads for that crap. Go away!
- Cowboy1015, on 04/24/2009, -0/+1amazing
- Sejes89, on 04/24/2009, -1/+2I think we can learn from the people of democratic Africa. Its time that we took more interest in who our leaders are; instead of just thinking that nothing will ever change.
- ADF237, on 04/25/2009, -0/+0As a South African, the election went very smoothly and calmly, only problem will be the result. Those queues are only in the rural areas. Took me 10 min to vote.
There were a lot of candidates, but most are small insignificant parties. The main parties are the ANC (should get 66%) The main opposition, The DA (16%) and COPE (7-8%) -
