- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -5/+10Been there, done that. Good luck ***** yourselves, you savage *****.
- elliam, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3When noone can answer "Why are we there?", or better "At what point are we done here and how are we going to get to that point?" you have a problem. You are referring to Iraq, and I say the situation there is *****. It's not the UNs job to provide policing and military for Iraq, it's Iraq's job.
Ideally the UN would send a force to Somalia to stop the killing (and give the Force some goddamn teeth), figure out what the problem is and set up negotiations to solve the issue. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Give all of that up, not just driving an expensive hybrid and then you may not look like hypocrites.
http://www.siamaffiliate.com/ - markgl, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3we can't go there. we tried to put democracy in Iraq and everyone now is having a heart attack cause we're still there. So according to them we shouldn't have to go around and save the world. If we got there, in a few years, people will start crying asking why are we there???
- jmchez, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5Everyone must remember that the reason that George Bush 41 was forced (yes, forced) to go into Somalia was because the media just wouldn't stop harping about the humanitarian catastrophe that was occurring in Somalia. You know, lots of pictures of starving children, crying mothers, etc. "Oh, how can the civilized world be letting this happen". "Oh we liberated Kuwait because they had oil we need but we don't care for the poor Somalis." Damn straight!
The left and liberals are always against wars that protect and benefit their country as in "No blood for oil" but they are more than willing to sacrifice men and resources in wars that benefit others (and make them feel good for being "unselfish".
You know what, we like oil, we need oil. Its availability keeps prices for everything we buy really cheap. It gives us lost of affordable electricity for our computer and home theater system and for trips to far off places. Give all of that up, not just driving an expensive hybrid (I'm talking to you DiCaprio and Clooney) and then you may not look like hypocrites. - ThunderIT, on 10/12/2007, -9/+3america, or americans?
and, if it is UN or NATO, it won't be just the americans. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -12/+4Sweet, more places for americans to die fighting lunatics.
