- flogistan, on 10/10/2007, -11/+3Oh god, I'm going to vomit. Didn't the neo-cons write papers with that idiotic phrase in it before it happened? Yes, they did. You should read Michael Ladeens book. Machiavelli on Modern Leadership. Are you a Strausian? Tell these people they were writinig about 9/11 before it happened. All you have to do is read people. It's all there for you. I'm not talking about reading digg, I'm talking about real books.
- Godlike, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Machiavelli knew his stuff. I am halfway through 'The Prince' and though it is completely out of context, he knew what to consider and what really motivated people.
- kahrytan, on 10/10/2007, -0/+10@flogistan
Like all the signs of a Pearl Harbor attack were there before it happened but US Intelligence ignored it. It doesn't matter if people foretold 9/11. US Intelligence knew Pearl Harbor was going to happen but didn't believe it.- GawtMilk, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6I don't think they ignored it...if you get 10,000 "tips" a day, it's a bit harder to believe something that says, "people are going to blow up the WTC with planes". At the time, that was a far-fetched idea you'd only see on television.

August 2000 - I went into a Target when an elderly gentleman had a heart attack. My friend and I kept him alive with CPR until paramedics arrived.
January 2003 - A man and his daughter flipped their car on the freeway and slid for a few hundred feet. The car was totaled. Myself and another driver pulled the man and his daughter out of the car and gave medical care until paramedics arrived. I still have flashbacks because of this incident. I thought that flashbacks were movie type things. They are very real.
May 2005 - A man with a gun walks into the subway I'm in and attempts to rob the place. Another customer and myself tackle the guy and hold him until police arrive. You like to think you'd know what you'd do in a situation like that, but until you've had a gun in your face, you don't know for sure. It certainly changes the game rules.
There are many other examples of things like this happening in my life. To be blunt, I'm the guy you want around when the ***** hits the fan. - woody56292, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5+1 heroics to Wargalas.

http://www.globalresearch.ca/articles/RIC111B.html - ISIfunded911, on 10/10/2007, -3/+7That is not the only WTF about 9/11: on 9/9, Bush was examining the plans for the invasion of Afghanistan. On 9/10, Rumsfeld announced that more than 2 trillion dollars were unaccounted for at the Pentagon (he could have announced it long before). On 9/11, flight 77 hits the Pentagon exactly at the location of the computer files which should have been examined to find out who where the people guilty of the hugest hold-up in History. Flight 77 totally deviated from its flight path to hit that precise location, the manoeuvre took several minutes over Washington, as if they knew that the missiles or fighters from the 3 military bases that could have shot that plane at any time would not. A few hours later, WTC7 collapsed, destroying the accounting files of thousands of companies under investigation for fraud, to the relief of many friends of the Bush administration, who did not want to end up in court/jail like the big shots from Enron and Worldcom.
The mark of a mafia is all over 9/11. Anyway, a little after 9/11, Bin Laden, in an interview to a Pakistani newspaper, said that it was criminal to kill so many innocents. If he had really planned 9/11 for years, he would also have prepared a memorable video to be released on 9/11 as well, to make the World listen to his words. But no, he said nothing on 9/11. Nothing on 9/12. Nothing on 9/13...But it gets stranger: Gary Berntsen, the CIA officer who lead operation Jawbreaker to capture Bin Laden, says in his book that the higher-ups of the CIA, of the Pentagon, and the White House did sabotage the operation when Bin Laden was about to be encircled, letting him escape from Tora Bora. And Sy Hersch revealed in his book that thousands of Talibans and Al-Qaeda members were allowed to fly to Pakistan by the Pentagon.

I think thats the best thing i could do right now.
No more of this ***** FEMA crap, media brainwashing and lies to the American People. I believe thats the best thing my brain can do, be more educated and not be someone who votes not knowing what they will actually do. Because Bush is not going to get any better, Iraq is going to get worse, and America will get worse. I believe it will only get better once we have a new President that actually gives a flying *****.- Dewhead, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1Yikes! You are a product of a crappy education. But my heart goes out especially to those, like myself, who are also residents of the United States of America... Those who cannot understand how greatly they have been deceived by a crooked administration, those who live in fear of opposing that crooked administration lest they be thrown in jail & their assets be seized, or those who wallow in despair because the cornerstones of our society & economy are slipping away under that crooked administration's reign.
We are citizens of a republic that calls itself "United," as that precept was so important that the founding father imbued into the very name, and at this moment, we are governed by a body that is often only interested in the safety & wellbeing of it's people so long as it's people serve the constituents purposes & financial interests.
Regardless of political affiliation, nor religious belief, nor vested interest, nor fear of those who would seek to silently quell any perceived uprising, we are all called to uphold the honor of being "United," to live & work side-by-side, learning from each other, serving each other, guarding each other's rights & liberties, offering tolerance to those who seem so different from ourselves, so that tomorrow, we can all have the freedoms that once made this land a place of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
Do not wait until November of 2008 - Commit today to unite in working toward the impeachment of Bush & his administration, to purge this nation of the condoned lies & terrorism within it's own borders, and together we shall give this country a 9/11 it shall never forget.

"In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist."

- Anub1s, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7It's one thing to remember what happened, it's a completely different one to let it fuel our wars and give reason to tyranny.
Indeed we need to get over it, but never forget what happened there's a lesson to be learned. - Professr, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5I agree, it was a terrible thing that happened, and many innocent people died. However, not nearly as many people died in the WTC as they did in Vietnam, or any of the other ***** times in our history. Yes, we should never forget, but that doesn't mean we have to be emo about it. My point is, too much is justified in the name of 911, and it's time to let it be a sad memory instead of a controlling factor in our lives.
- Yazilliclick, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Moving on and forgetting are two things. Don't forget but move on already jeez.

- UwasaWaya, on 10/10/2007, -2/+16I agree it shouldn't be forgotten, but when I idly asked what the date was when signing a document at work today, and my co-worker admonished me for not knowing it was Sept 11 (and went on about the WTC and all) I asked her when the Oklahoma City Bombing was... when the Alamo was... hell, when Pearl Harbor was (we're in Hawaii here...)... and she had no idea. Hypocrisy. There's a point where we should let it go... you don't have to forget to do that.
- Yazilliclick, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Aye. 9/11 may be recent compare to some others but really the only reason it's made such a big deal of is because now is because the government and media like to use it for ratings and to keep people in line behind the wars.
- xGeneric, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1You're logic is a little strange. Alamo, Pearl Harbor... these things happened when most of us weren't alive(and of course, none of us saw the Alamo). To us, it's easy to forget these things and that's how a nation moves on. But come on, the attack was 6 years ago. Oklahoma City happened fairly recent in terms of history, but you really can't compare the two. The OKC Bombing wasn't a declaration of war by religious fanatics that have helped a bumbling administration drain our economy, and destroy our freedoms.

- iruber1337, on 10/10/2007, -2/+7Agreed I am so sick of people saying never forgot. I want to forget but can't due to every media outlet shoving it down our throats not to mention Giuliani using it as his entire platform. It was a horrible day, I'm from right outside NYC - all people on Long Island, I'm sure you remember News12 reporting not to drink the water because the attacks were to deter us from noticing the water was poisoned (I had the fine privilege of being sent to King Kullen to get a few gallons of bottled - it was pretty much a riot there and was only able to get two gallons). We also had dark smoke looming over everything for a few days, and a distinct burning scent whenever the wind would blow to remind us. To make matters more fun we were basically sitting ducks on an island because we could leave - coast guard stopped any ships, and all bridges we closed. There is nothing worse than getting calls from all your friends (some who act like total tough guys) crying on the phone because their sibling or parents were missing. I got one of those calls as well from my aunt...her husband - my awesome uncle was missing. Due to cell phone towers being down, anyone stuck in the city couldn't contact us. Though he survived - it took him three days to get home so he simply slept in a subway station because trains were suspended. In the end we all had at least one family member or close friend that died...it was a pretty tough day.
Half of the people claiming "Never Forget!" weren't anywhere near it - I'd rather forget the events and respect all those that died that day. - polkadotdotdot, on 10/10/2007, -3/+5if we forget history, we're doomed to repeat it.
insensitive jackass. - xGeneric, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2"I'd rather forget the events and respect all those that died that day."
Like the other guys comment further up, this strikes me as a little awkward. The event was people dieing... how can you forget the event but respect the people? "We respect all those who ______ in ______ six years ago today", "What happened to who 6 years ago?", "Forget about it, I'm sick of hearing about it from the media. Just respect them". Personally I'm sick of the way Giuliani and the media bring it up when it's completely unnecessary, to further their own personal agendas, but the two of them can't disgust me enough to rationalize to myself that after 6 years, we should just all forget and move on... especially when this event has shaped our world to the degree it has.
"Half of the people claiming "Never Forget!" weren't anywhere near it - "
So are you saying that there's a problem if you weren't physically close enough to the event, but don't want to forget the impact that it's had on this country and the world?
Come on, it was ONLY 6 years ago. Two friggin' planes were flown into one of the symbols of New York/US Economy, 3k+ people died, started a war, empowered a sinister but moronic administration that led to the one of the most unjust wars in our history, that has drained this economy, weakened our military, destroyed our world image, and has lead us down a path that has made a war with Iran a very real possibility... all that after 6 years from a single event, and you say you want to forget but the "media" won't let you?!?! Wow... that's all I have left to say... just wow" - wishninja, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Bush will not let us forget because he gets a residual bump in the polls every 9-11 and the republicans are not done useing this as a campaign tool. The problem is that it was a sort of gateway tragedy. A terrible thing happened then and had a direct affect on a large number of people. We've since made things worse everywhere we could. We've sent more people to die for reasons that seem to vary since, and we've given up a lot of freedoms to supposedly protect us from an identical attack (while making sure we also couldn't defend ourselves against one).

- LilRabbitFooFoo, on 08/11/2008, -3/+24Are YOU afraid of terrorists? I'm not. The odds of any of us getting killed in a terrorist attack is less than that of winning a lottery. So why are we afraid?!
We're afraid because it is in the best interests of the terrorists (for their political agenda), our administration (politicians have always used fear to control the masses, re: Rome, etc.), the media (fear and hype gets you to tune in, which yields ratings, which ups the advertising dollars the news networks makes, which means profits), and the corporations (who see sales and profits based on ad dollars spent).
It used to be that the news was the one who called ***** when this happened, but now, since CNN turned news into a ratings for cash game, ALL aspects of our society PROFIT (one way or another) by keeping YOU in FEAR.
The British had the IRA bombing them in London WEEKLY for YEARS. The Israeli's suffered (as a percentage of population) a 9-11 scale loss of life every THREE MONTHS for YEARS during the suicide bombings of the intifada.
They got used it to it, grew up, and went on with their lives. Eventually the IRA came to peace terms. One day the Israelis will too.
WE get hit ONCE with a spectacularly LUCKY attack (even Osama has no idea he could actually bring down the towers...if he had, the planes would have been instructed to hit as low on the buildings as possible, in order to maximize casualties) and we curl up in fear, throwing our Constitution out the window, for YEARS. Why!?
A little perspective: Pearl Harbor actually meant our West Coast was suddenly at risk from a major INVASION from a country at WAR, so why are we so over-reacting to 9-11 in comparison?! Because of 9-11, our nation's sovereignty is NOT at risk. There are NO invading terrorists hordes on our shores. There never have been. There never will. Pearl Harbor, IMHO, DWARFS 9-11 in the real scale of both human tragedy AND real danger to the American way of life.
We are (were?) a FREE NATION. That means that, every once in a while, we're going to have some nut take advantage of our good will and freedoms to kick us in the shins or slap us in the face. We have laws to deal with that when it happens, and we are smart enough to close the appropriate loophole the loon(s) used, if there was one, so that it doesn't happen again. But to live in perpetual fear of something that has been going on since the dawn of human history is absurd, IMHO.
We remain the most powerful, prosperous, and SAFEST nation on the planet, in the entire HISTORY of the human race. Period. NOTHING has changed. NOTHING.
I'm tired of trading my freedoms for an illusion of safety that does not, and cannot, exist in a FREE society.
Osama and his cronies killed our people, and that was a terrible tragedy and my condolences extend to those families who were directly or indirectly affected by Osama's murderous attacks. We should and must hunt him down and bring him to justice with all the reserves at our disposal, so that anyone who thinks about doing this again, will think twice, and then again. That is how a FREE society deals with a MURDERER who has committed CRIMES against us or our nation. With the rule of law.
What we don't do is stop being FREE.
I'm not afraid. And I don't believe you should be either.- bassfanatik, on 10/10/2007, -2/+3I need to get down and get a lotto ticket..

Today, there are still people who weep over 9/11. There is a very fine line between remembering, and obsessing. I had a good friend die in those attacks that day. He told me one thing that I will never forget. He always said to live life to its fullest and never look back on your mistakes. Always move ahead. Well, the problem here is that we are still stuck back 6 years ago.
People today are willing to hand over every right they have in order to protect themselves from another attack. They want the government to do everything for them so they don't have to think for themselves. Its very frustrating to see what has come of the USA since those attacks. Instead of bringing us together, it has polarized us in more ways than one when it comes to party lines, beliefs, and so on.
I could go on and on here, but personally, I am sick of hearing about it 9/11. As long as we have a majority of our citizens crying and weeping about 9/11, the terrorists will have won. The day we all remember 9/11, and move onto bigger and better things as a nation, we will have won. I've taken the time to examine the facts, and while I'm not so sure the government was directly *behind* 9/11, I'm convinced that they not only knew it was going to happen, but also did absolutely nothing to stop it. They needed a "new Pearl Harbor" to anger the U.S. populace and justify the funds and steps necessary for the invasion of the Middle East, and the gradual destruction of your - yes, *your* - civil liberties. But you keep on believing what you want to believe. Don't ask questions. Don't read the facts. If you're happy with what you've been fed, then so be it.
- mishsquish, on 10/10/2007, -8/+5Well, not many outside America really cared. The day America stood still, perhaps.
- sadilak, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5Yep. That is correct. Arrogant bush and his arrogant policies. Funny thing is that the politicians shield the americans from knowing anything about the outside world. If the ancient world believed that the earth was flat, according to bush , the earth is made up of 73 % water and 27% USA. Hopefully someday a wiseguy will lead the USA to better days.
- p0s3r, on 10/10/2007, -3/+1You know what would be funny? If the US stopped all foreign aid and pulled all of its troops back inside its borders. Then us Americans can sit back and laugh while we watch all the minarets crop up over Euroland and watch your women either don the hajib or get killed. And we could laugh and snicker as the famines & corruption that ravage africa spread thru the rest of the world. That would be hilarious.
- Yazilliclick, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2The rest of the world cared and took notice on 9/11. Hence the large amount of support for going after the taliban. 6 years later I'm sick of hearing about it. I'm not saying forget it but for goodness sake stop this emo sympathy bs every year afterwards. Of course it's pretty much the media and government pushing this way of 'remembering' 9/11 as it's good for keeping people tuning in and in fear.

- HumanRecall, on 10/10/2007, -2/+8The DAY everyone and their dog thought someone of Arab, Pakistan or Indian decent was a Terrorists. and from CANADA !!!
- sadilak, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4True. Generalizing it more, the day america started to show open signs of racism.if you are white you get through, if you are brown or black , you get held back
- sadilak, on 10/10/2007, -2/+0Earth did not stand still. Only USA and maybe the UK. Sep 11 could be the payback for napalming cambodia, killing of innocent civilians everywhere by the USA.
