- pookydirt, on 04/09/2009, -7/+258The comment regarding sending her son to heaven and herself to hell is really distrurbing.
- fl3sh, on 04/09/2009, -50/+262Mental illness + religious motives + guns = fail.
Wait... is having religious motives kind of like being mentally ill? - smashblu, on 04/08/2009, -4/+215That woman had been banned from a shooting range earlier for attempting to shoot herself. If the son knew that, I don't why he'd go with her.
Either way, that is a ***** thing to happen. - SteelChicken, on 04/09/2009, -52/+149Yes religion is at fault here, not faulty brain tissue.
Morons. - TheTaoOfBill, on 04/08/2009, -2/+86Just so everyone knows the video is not as graphic as it sounds and it skips over the worst parts. It's crazy though.
- inactive, on 04/09/2009, -5/+83What a selfish crazy bitch
- hokie47, on 04/09/2009, -1/+78If you are going to kill yourself please do not kill others too. She probably thought she was doing him a favor. Very sad.
- smindsrt, on 04/08/2009, -17/+93WTF is the world coming to!!!
- fjsferreira, on 04/09/2009, -0/+69That's why I stay all day locked in my room, in front of a computer, with no social interaction whatsoever, it's less risky than going out, where even your mom shoots you in the head.
- reelskamachine, on 04/09/2009, -1/+65Its not really a "wtf is this world coming to" incident. Its more like, "WTF is wrong with people"
- Winu, on 04/09/2009, -3/+59longer footage
http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=a9b_1239071171 - leephil, on 04/09/2009, -2/+57Man, that is horrible. The fat guy looks like he was going to go blow chunks. I would have, too.
- RAGEdemon, on 04/09/2009, -32/+87I think we can all agree that the likeliness of her killing her son would have been far reduced if she had known there was no such place as heaven or hell.
House said it best:
"If you could reason with religious people, there would be no religious people" - TheBigL481, on 04/09/2009, -13/+65Guys, don't blame religion. This is mental illness at work. Even if she had been athiest, there is an equal chance she would have done the same, but for other selfjustifiable reasons.
- SpoonMSU, on 04/09/2009, -11/+60Purposefully ignoring fact and logic for doing what everybody's imaginary friend tells them to do? Maybe.
- chinaman1212, on 04/09/2009, -3/+45Those voices don't let you sleep do they?
- TheTaoOfBill, on 04/08/2009, -3/+39So why did you click it?
- KennMac, on 04/09/2009, -0/+35@KSUdesigner
Which begs the question; Why the ***** was a suicidal, mentally-ill woman just hanging out at a SHOOTING RANGE? - kamakazitp, on 04/09/2009, -0/+30he's wearing his Stormtrooper uniform which should provide him with some measure of protection, and if not, at least the newspaper headline would be rad.
- LingNoi, on 04/09/2009, -3/+32When a human reaches breaking point for whatever reason the last place you want them to be is at a shooting range.
- Endrian, on 04/09/2009, -15/+43For everyone so happily blaming religion for this tragedy, I ask you: Are you as quick to blame video games for similar incidents? The nebulous catch-all of "religion" isn't at fault here. The woman is.
- rrouse, on 04/09/2009, -0/+28Don't go shooting with your crazy mother.
- Dochirin, on 04/09/2009, -7/+34I don't think so, people with these type of conditions are really good to find excuses, as a self-defence mechanism, for their actions.
- blackinthmiddle, on 04/09/2009, -8/+34Look, digg is an atheist community. They love bashing religion any chance they get. But it's clearly a one-sided affair.
Look at the columbine shooting. At one point one of the guys asks, "Are there any people in here who believe in God?" One girl stands up and says, "I do" and is promptly shot. He (I don't know which one of the two) then screams, "WHY???" Using "digg-logic", we should be able to say that their psychotic behavior was due to their lack of a belief in God. But of course, that doesn't happen. Whatever. - slack31337, on 04/09/2009, -1/+27would have been nice if they put that in the article..
- norman619, on 04/09/2009, -0/+25While this is in deed tragic, this is nothing new. Try to remember the world has existed long before you came into it. This kind of ***** has been going on for ages. It's called crazy people hurting the innocent. The thing is crazy people look like anyone else usually so it's hard to spot them before it is too late.
- scarlettletter, on 04/08/2009, -13/+37I did not want to see that video!
- jason210, on 04/09/2009, -3/+25Family members say she was mentally ill. NO! Perfectly normal people shoot their sons and then themselves all the time..
- Deadity, on 04/09/2009, -8/+30We need this heaven meme to go away. There is no such place. It is make believe.
- inactive, on 04/09/2009, -17/+38Correct, religious motive = mental retardation
- inactive, on 04/09/2009, -4/+24Anyone can break at anytime, take a 5 gallon can of gasoline and a lighter, douse their family, friends, neighbors, etc... in their sleep and light em up. Your questions still apply. I suggest 5 day "cooling off" periods for the purchase of gasoline and a complete ban on any small device capable of creating a flame, especially those pesky "assault zippos".
- sanchezke70, on 04/09/2009, -3/+22her suicide note said he is going to heaven, she is going to hell
- oderdigg, on 04/09/2009, -13/+32Religious people are scary because they believe there's a 'better' place to go when you die.
- hokie47, on 04/09/2009, -4/+23***** stupid selfish bitch. Mental illness or not she is a monster. That kid had his whole life in front of him only to get blown away in the back of the head. I hope he did not feel a thing. I can't think of a ***** way to go than to be killed by your own mother.
- KSUdesigner, on 04/09/2009, -1/+20Right, because nothing ***** up happens anywhere outside of the US.
- blackinthmiddle, on 04/09/2009, -8/+26You're using logic to defend religion on digg. Not too smart!!!
I mean, it was noted that the Columbine kids were atheist, but no one blamed atheism for this, right? Bottom line, any chance diggers get, they will bash religion, totally throwing out logic and reason. When things go the other way (like when an atheist performs a similar act), logic and reason are restored. - hokie47, on 04/09/2009, -3/+21It is fun to go to the range and shoot targets.
- WiretapStudios, on 04/09/2009, -1/+19But what happens when she comes down to the basement with your sandwich?
- Blisshead, on 04/09/2009, -1/+18No kidding, you better you go hide before a car hits you or you fall off something.
- Heilige, on 04/09/2009, -6/+22All this stuff about shootings only comes out in the news when they want to pass gun regulations.
- KSUdesigner, on 04/09/2009, -1/+16Maybe he thought that if he was there she wouldn't shoot herself.
- KReal, on 04/09/2009, -6/+21I don't think a non-religious person would kill their offspring with the intention of "sending him to heaven" and/or kill themselves to "send herself to hell".
- inactive, on 04/09/2009, -4/+18Do not worry it has already been heavily edited and redacted to protect your fragile mind by the same folks who brought you the Zapruder film.
- inactive, on 04/09/2009, -4/+17Religion is motivation for a LOT of stupid, dangerous *****. Do you think we'd have as many suicide bombers blowing innocent people up if they didn't believe that ***** about going to heaven and ***** virgins?
- Grym11, on 04/09/2009, -2/+15I don't understand why the guy in the interview would stay at the gun range after he noticed the woman and son acting anxious and weird. Personally, if I noticed someone acting strangely, I would have packed my gear, left, and complained to the management on the way out. It's never worth staying around to find out who gets hurt from stupid people doing stupid things.
That being said, the vast majority of people at gun ranges are some of the nicest, most polite, safety-oriented people you'll ever meet. - nomadxx7, on 04/09/2009, -1/+13@fabrejp
Anyone can snap at anytime. There are stories in the news all the time about people just giving up and doing horrendous things. However sometimes we can tell, sometimes we can't. Should you worry about your family being next? Probably in the back of your mind as an alert but don't live in fear. She was hell bent on going to Hell and justified killing her son as a mercy killing for God. Guns and people mix everyday. This lady happened to get a gun at a shooting range but it could have easily been a gun dealer or a crack dealer who sold/gave her the gun. People hell bent on destruction will make it work. - feignNU, on 04/09/2009, -2/+14@jba68
Chill out. If you had used the correct tense your comment would've made a helluva lot more sense. - oninbonin, on 04/09/2009, -0/+11Okay, if someone wants to kill someone, it doesn't matter if they have a gun or not. They will find a way to kill that person. It's not the ***** guns' fault. I mean how many rounds do you think that fat guy has squeezed off in his life without killing someone? The lady was psychotic. Get over your gun ban vendetta.
- Shakermaker, on 04/09/2009, -0/+11Tarzan make comment!
- 9enisP, on 04/09/2009, -0/+11There really is nothing more to see. The video is only a frame or so a sec. Here's the unedited video. Not much different. http://www.nothingtoxic.com/media/1239150446/Mothe ...
