- virtualonliner, on 07/09/2008, -3/+129***** Scientology.
- MammasMilk, on 07/09/2008, -1/+54My wife worked at a doctor's office where the doc and his wife were scientologists. They brought in a special scientology based training program where their time was wasted learning such new fangled things as how to use a dictionary among other ridiculous things that were completely unrelated their actual jobs.
When my wife decided she didn't want to do the "training" and made her concerns about it know to her bosses, they said that was fine. Only they turned around and brought in one of those auditors. He spent the better part of an hour trying to talk her into a corner about how good the "training" is and how wrong she was.
She and 3 other employees quit not long after. And the kicker is, the scientologist doctor had to pay for the "training" and for the auditor to come in and harass my wife. Money well spent *****. - dheaddy, on 07/09/2008, -1/+46Excellent story, kudos to that Australian station for reporting it.
- RicardoWilliams, on 07/08/2008, -3/+48the title alone saddens me
- matthewjhughes, on 07/08/2008, -3/+43Revolting. If L.Ron was alive today, he would be dragged through East Grinstead on the back of a car by his ankles.
- SoundJudgment, on 07/09/2008, -2/+38Scientology is pure scum. Absolutely, positively scum. As low as it can get.
- slayernine, on 07/09/2008, -0/+33I'm really surprised that business posing as a religion has somehow still kept its tax exempt charitable organization status.
- rentmitchum, on 07/09/2008, -0/+27Tom Cruise would save him with his acting powers.
- crystalblue69, on 07/09/2008, -2/+23dugg for great justice. seriously.
- Beatmiser, on 07/09/2008, -0/+21You know, quite honestly this isn't a fad. Scientology needs to be pulled out of the dark and made public at every opportunity we receive because this is a seriously harmful cult.
That it offends your precious digg time is lamentable but if the fad is so upsetting why post? - diggitny, on 07/09/2008, -1/+21According to some former scilons, the church had to keep working to generate money for LRon who wanted regular productivity reports and cash payments. With LRon gone, who benefits from the exorbitant sums paid by members? And now it appears they are rewriting the books (discovering "new tech" or revising the "old tech") and are making followers fork over thousands of dollars to get the "upgrades" to the "tech." It is sad. It is perverse. The fact that children are used as minions in this system is truly tragic.
- crystalblue69, on 07/09/2008, -1/+21"Anonymous will be staging their SIXTH protest this weekend, Saturday, July 12th. Clearly, their efforts are hammering away at the crumbling facade of deception Scientology has precariously built on its web of lies."
i luv glosslip - mentallyinhell, on 07/09/2008, -0/+18'Nuff said.
- stonebone4, on 07/09/2008, -3/+21I was brought up as a Christian and not once was I bullied or pressured by church staff, forced to work, or expected to spend $300,000 to reach spiritual fulfillment.
A while back I decided I was no longer interested in religion. I was not stalked, harassed, forced to stay, or any other nonsense when I made my decision.
It's extremely annoying and ignorant when you hardcore anti-everything atheists fail to understand what the big deal about the Church of Scientology is - it's not about what they BELIEVE, it's about what they DO. - rentmitchum, on 07/09/2008, -5/+23Scientology is a bad thing! It's not good! No sir! It's bad!

http://www.licensetolulz.com/video.php - MammasMilk, on 07/09/2008, -0/+13I was lookig at a job opportunity in Clearwater, FL. When I checked out various message boards, there were a lot of comments about ow the city has been overrun with scientoligists. People who grew up there were startled at the scientologists everywhere.
How big does the fish have to get before you decide to fry it?
If you leave a patch of mold in your home, it won't go away. If you leave it alone it becomes such a big problem that you'll wish you took care of it when it was just a speck. - serenityflexed, on 07/09/2008, -1/+14I want to say you're right, its not just Scientology, all religion is deranged.
Your comment's very abrasive but there's a good question in it: any religion, pretty much by definition, has pseudo-supernatural believes, so isn't Scientology is just another example?
I want to agree they're all as crazy as each other; I can't: Scientology is fundamentally different. It's an enterprise with a esoteric doctrine which actively exploits, antagonises people and runes lives. And perhaps this was the same for other religions in the past, but I just don't see it now, on a huge scale, apart from in Scientology.
Anyone else seen the video where the Scientologist says, basically, join Scientology or go blow your brains out, because you would have to be an idiot who deserves to die if you refuse my sales pitch? - gregnorc, on 07/09/2008, -1/+13I linked to this on my blog after watching it. This is absolutely reprehensible. Adults can be chastised for being idiots, but children have no choice.
- Hnnnnnghhh, on 07/09/2008, -0/+12This Saturday
Confirmed for Brawl. - hep2djive, on 07/08/2008, -3/+15All I can say is yech.....
- Karai, on 07/09/2008, -1/+13Would you care to explain to us what "bigger fish" we are trying to fry? Everyone deserves to have a cause to fight for, just because you don't care about bettering the world or saving lives doesn't mean other people are as useless as you.
- PeppermintPig, on 07/09/2008, -0/+12What a tool. How's his business now that he's alienating the help? LOL
- Princeamor, on 07/09/2008, -2/+13Makes me feel like camping out in front of my local scientology place and planning something serious.
- MastDane, on 07/09/2008, -1/+12Finally.
- VitoTheMonkey, on 07/09/2008, -1/+12Scientology makes me sick, these people are some of the most evil scum on the face of the earth.
- Totz83, on 07/09/2008, -2/+12...except the use of proper grammar?
=p - inactive, on 07/09/2008, -0/+10They need to be shut down.
- crystalblue69, on 07/09/2008, -0/+10but entirely legal and peaceful amirite?
- NerveBand, on 07/09/2008, -0/+10I thought Islam was the world's fastest growing religion. Even the Vatican said so. Scientology, stop playing yourself up.
- rancidpony, on 07/09/2008, -0/+10Yes. But the general public doesn't know this & it's not being acted on. Plus this is fresh evidence as in it's happening right now.
- RaDeus, on 07/09/2008, -2/+11I'm all for freedom of religion but Scientology should be banned and its assets seized and put to good use...
- Bapho, on 07/09/2008, -1/+10so you're saying that's it's ok if these kids don't get any education?
- sweetBeats, on 07/09/2008, -1/+10all your base are belong to us.
- IphtashuFitz, on 07/09/2008, -4/+13Hmm.. Join anonymous on Saturday for their latest protest or go stand in line at an Apple store for their new 3G iPhone... Tough choice!
- inactive, on 07/10/2008, -0/+8$cientology is a cult.
- Technoidatx, on 07/09/2008, -1/+9Anon Delivers
- YAOMTC, on 07/09/2008, -0/+8Scientology, you're going down.
Literally. You are going down right now. - Harabeck, on 07/09/2008, -0/+7This abuse by scientology is widespread, and a matter of policy, they set out to do this crap. Maybe you can dig up some isolated abuse by churches, but it has nothing to do with their policies.
- BradOFarrell, on 07/09/2008, -0/+7Ah I remember seeing Glosslip's anti-Scientology vidoes on YouTube, she's pretty awesome.
- alexiadeath, on 07/09/2008, -0/+6Forcing kids to a parents path by making them forego education and thus leaving them no choice later in life is not harm? Going to school and learning all thst is needed to be a full society member is a kids JOB.
- Greengoo, on 07/09/2008, -0/+6I would have sued the doctor and his practice right then and there. But before I quit, I would send a mass email to his client list letting them all know their "doctor" was a crazy Scientology Medicine-man.
- joostfunke, on 07/10/2008, -0/+6Why does this story only have 1070 diggs??? This story should be read and dugg way more!
- Sluglas, on 07/09/2008, -0/+5I say we dig him up and make your wish come true matthewjhughes.
- mllawso, on 07/09/2008, -0/+5I can't stand it when people argue that "parents always know better than anyone else how to raise their kids". Popping a kid out (or 3, or 15) doesn't suddenly grant you the knowledge required to raise a child; I'm sure you know horrible parents who are ***** up their kids.
I'm not arguing for giving the government control over what you teach your kids: I'm arguing that children have inalienable rights that should be protected by law -- such as education. - asagai, on 07/10/2008, -0/+5Child exploitation in the UK is also being investigated

"Minors who worked at CCHR, myself included, were routinely required to work overtime, sometimes up to 20-hour days, and were not compensated for it. No one complained, of course, because the general attitude was that anyone who complained about little things like pay was "downstat", "counter intention" and "not on board". Anyone who complained or raised protest about the work environment was made to feel guilty and out-ethics. Truth be told, I never considered complaining about it, because hey, the evil psychs were working overtime, and there were thousands of them! There were only a few of us, so we had to work three times as hard to defeat them. Whatever that means." -
