- euroh, on 03/15/2008, -5/+396On some anti-scientology web site, it was reported that the Scientologists have been caught stationing photographers at public transit stations to photograph potential protesters faces before they put their masks on using high res cameras, matching people at the protests according to their clothing and body type once the masks are on. They've also staked out people in costume shops to photograph people buying masks. Other anons have been outed by having fake journalists come up to the protesters for on-the-spot interviews, where they ask them for their names or for them to take their masks off.
Folks, take this extremely seriously; this is a vicious group that has honed stalking people and ruining their lives to a fine art. They're not going to let attempts at anonymity stop them; they'll follow stalk you onto the bus and subway with cameramen coordinated by walkie-talkies. Don't leave the protest with anyone you didn't come with, don't take your mask off in front of anyone you don't know (especially TV cameras), and for god's sake don't go straight home. Assume you're being followed. They've done it before and they will do it again. At the Manchester protest they had an Asian fella in a blue hoodie come out and pretend to be one of the protesters, but he stood out like a sore thumb. Don't assume they won't get it right this time.

If Scientology is genuinely interested in defending themselves they can pursue the individuals making violent threats. Anonymous is a group. Protesting is perfectly within the realms of every American's constitutional rights. I think the CULT of Scientology is afraid that they are going to get disbanded for brainwashing people and being a CULT. If Scientology isn't afraid then why are they so worried about a group of protesters?

In just a month or two they've built a coordinated global protest movement out of a few YouTube videos, and a wiki. Whether or not scientology is a legitimate threat, it's amazing to see the internet used so well for a cause.
