- anonkwisdg, on 06/21/2009, -4/+377David Miscavige is going to need 3 bottles of scotch to get to sleep tonight. This is a huge story. Corroborates at least some of the critics info about Lisa McPherson's death.Gosh it would be nice for that poor woman to have some justice after all these years.
well done St Petersburg Times, Joe Childs and Thomas Tobin - picaflor999, on 06/21/2009, -8/+344Holy ***** *****.
- ChinezePanda, on 06/21/2009, -3/+232I run a coffee shop in an undisclosed city that is right down the road from the Church of Scientology... we get a lot of their workers in my shop...
THEY ARE BAT-***** INSANE!!!!!
"Your coffee is increasing your thetan level, let me leave this book here for you to read."
WTF!?!?!!!! - anon93752, on 06/21/2009, -10/+209This article needs to be forwarded to anyone who has contacts with any reporter. They can spread this through the bureau like AIDS.
- blownforgood, on 06/21/2009, -4/+187I have been posting about this stuff for years. I am glad that more people are coming out and verifying what I have been saying. Dave Miscavige beating staff, Lisa McPherson's death, Musical Chairs, you name it. Dave Miscavige will be revealed as the tyrant he is.
Until next time..
BFG - londonroad, on 06/21/2009, -5/+179Excellent stuff.
Reminder for Brits - Scientology followers exposed on www.scientology-london.com and http://scientology-london.com/extra/888/ - lawyers are trying to take the site down; free speech prevails.
Note to David Miscavige: tick-fukking-tock - promotiv8, on 06/21/2009, -2/+169When I moved to Florida about 10 months ago, I moved to St. Pete. A couple weeks later I responded to a job post and got the job. It was working on a web business as a designer and video editor for a health product company. BTW, it was run out of a large beautiful home in Clearwater.
My first day there, I noticed that someone had "conveniently" placed four books on my desk, before my arrival, all concerning Scientology and I was not happy.
About an hour into the day, the owners, a husband and wife came into my office and immediately started asking me questions (rather personal) and if I would please take the time to read the material they had so nicely left for me.
Every hour after that during the day, they showed back up in my office and asked me if I had considered at least going to one of the centers to have an initial audit.
Even though I hated giving up the job and the money, I quit at the end of the day (probably should have done it earlier). I am proud I made that decision. They are most certainly a cult. - babalonanon, on 06/21/2009, -4/+163The ***** storm has begun,
- XaviorUnderwood, on 06/21/2009, -4/+157So, is this the "storm's brewing" in FL thing everyone's been hinting about lately? 'Cause if it is, OMG that's quite a storm. Even drawing a response from the tiny tyrant himself, David Miscavige, wow.
- GloryMarcabia, on 06/21/2009, -5/+152I signed up just to digg this story.
This is the big one. It has everything, Miscavige broke his hermit-tech, and Lisa McPherson's story is up next.
Bricks. Were. Shat. - Pyrallis, on 06/21/2009, -2/+132"[Bohemian Rhapsody] played over and over all night long as he played this sadistic game of musical chairs. ...ramming people, body blocks into the walls, ripping peoples' clothing off. It was really pretty sickening."
That's how the leader of Scientology conducts meetings. - LordByr0n, on 06/21/2009, -2/+111I work at a library at a college somewhere in Canada. We had received a donation of 9 dvds from the so called 'church' about the 'church'. I had a very wide smile on my face after I tossed them into the garbage.
- lepton, on 06/21/2009, -3/+105People need to understand that Scientology is not a religion. It is a straight out money scam. It only uses "the religion angle", to quote founder L. Ron Hubbard, because it is a near-perfect shield to hide the scam behind. He first tried to make it self-help, then medical, that got him in trouble, then hit the religion angle. Decades later, look how well that has worked - people are afraid to touch it, because they don't want to be anti religion and do want to be pro freedom. And it became tax-free!!! Hubbard was a genius to hide his money scam behind the cloak of religion. It's the most successful money scam of all time.
- Zambimaru, on 06/21/2009, -6/+105Another bomb has been dropped on the Cult of $cientology.
- MrOgson, on 06/21/2009, -3/+88St.PeteTimes Steel Balls award for July!
Awesome, simply awesome!
:D - 99nickc, on 06/21/2009, -4/+89I signed up to digg also. Gotta spread the word.
- cakeforthought, on 06/21/2009, -1/+82Dear FBI,
Why does it take brave people like Marc Headley/blownforgood to sue Scientology in order to get basic laws enforced? Isn't the US supposed to uphold human rights? So how about doing your part in putting an end to the Orwellian, North-Koreanesque world of Scientology's Sea Org? Wouldn't you agree that enough is enough?
Thanks in advance,
On behalf of every victim of the cult and every 'wog' who is aware of the sinister truth behind Scientology's PR veneer.
PS Rock on Marc! - Albumen, on 06/21/2009, -1/+81If I told you I was a baby-raper would you respect my beliefs? My point is that there is a limit. Scientology is a scam and a cult that forces disconnection of parents from their children and spouses if they cease to believe. That is just wrong. There is no justification for it. Also, if its so important to "clear the planet" then don't charge exorbitant prices to teach people wht they need to know. You can hate other religions for the things they do all you want but none of the big established religions actually require yo to pay to play the way Scientology does.
- faskippy, on 06/21/2009, -3/+77I was watching TV yesterday, and nearly spit my soda out when I saw a commercial for Scientology.
- morgino, on 06/21/2009, -0/+73This cult still operates as a tax free entity to correct? Seriously...the church of the flying spaghetti monster makes more sense than these guys
- Dahakkak, on 06/21/2009, -3/+71Amazing read and a clear demonstration of the Church's malicious attitude. How they are still allowed to operate is beyond me.
- BowieX, on 06/21/2009, -2/+65By "Holy ***** *****" I think picaflor999 really means: "I urge ANYONE reading this page to DIGG THIS SUBMISSION NOW, even if it means logging in!"
(PS I really hate people who ride on the first poster's coattails, but I really wanted to emphasize this point.) - inactive, on 06/21/2009, -3/+65It's amazing that people believe this *****, even after they've left.
- joe122370, on 06/21/2009, -0/+62ironically during Mythbusters. i had to laugh
- kenhatesemos, on 06/21/2009, -0/+54yep, my sister worked as a receptionist for a day care, and on her first day she found scientology books on sitting on her desk for her to read. creepy as hell. she quit the next day.
- inactive, on 06/21/2009, -2/+55alright, get ready for the Scienos to come in here and try to get this off the front page. You know they will try.
- jonlucc, on 06/21/2009, -1/+53Over 9000!!!!!
- iwhitness, on 06/21/2009, -0/+50I would tell them to keep it stating that "I don't believe in cults or spreading their message" I wouldn't even want to touch the damned thing to throw it away.
- pixelguru, on 06/21/2009, -3/+53It's the worst traits of organized religion, married to the worst traits of a corporation. Terrifying.
- gropo, on 06/21/2009, -0/+48Gee, you think little 5'5" Miscavige has a Napoleon Complex?
- jsawyer1, on 06/21/2009, -4/+50This is Awsome. Just be prepared for the attacks to come Joe and Thomas. They will try and smear you like the did when the Time artical came out. I hope that people relise that the leaders of the "church" are corrupt weasles that only care about the members $$$ If the "church" did care about clearing the planet why arnt they in the poor and third world countrys doing this stuff for free. Hell why arn't the doing it for free period!!!!!
- noahgelman, on 06/21/2009, -2/+46To be honest, that actually sounds like a fun game, minus the evil cult forcing me to do it
- inactive, on 06/21/2009, -7/+51Nice to see the truth from some of those involved.
But ***** Scientology and anyone who believes in it.
It is really amazing how retarded human beings can be though. Take any God based religion, mostly we are not really sure who or why a lot of it came about. Scientology was created by a SCIENCE FICTION WRITER and is a well known fact, yet people still believe in it?
I conclude that religion is a mental condition, because that is the only thing that makes any sense. - inactive, on 06/21/2009, -2/+43All religions are a bit wacky. But come on, Scientology was thought up by a science fiction writer. It's almost like he made it as strange as possible, kind of like daring people to believe in it. These idiots need to be stopped ASAP. If I was one of the writers of the article I would quickly buy a handgun and get a concealed weapon license. I can pretty much guarantee that these guys are going to have some "accidents."
- no12u, on 06/21/2009, -2/+42Great job St. Petersburg Times! After KESQ's Nathan Baca reports, this has really got to hurt MIscavige's misguided minions. Beware OSA spam incoming in 1...2...3...
- JurisAnonimus, on 06/21/2009, -2/+41This is beyond epic. Very top ranked scilons calling out the COS and DM.
And it looks like Tommy Davis has finally been driven mad. - DubYaSee, on 06/21/2009, -0/+38Tiny tyrant?! LOL
- kotn2012, on 06/21/2009, -0/+37I saw one on the Discovery channel. I about died.
- inactive, on 06/21/2009, -1/+36hey everyone! Amazing news! I've been given the true meaning of life, from god! Send me 50 dollars and I'll be able to tell you! (sound familiar?)
- AmnonNhymous, on 06/21/2009, -6/+40Thank you for supporting french Justice! ;)
- asgardshill, on 06/21/2009, -3/+37St. Petersburg has been Scientology's bitch for years - the very definition of a company town. It's stunning and kinda cool to see the cult finally get their just desserts in the ol' hometown newspaper. I for one look forward to reading all about it in the coming days.
But just like the situation in Iran, blood will flow before it's all over. - anonymousmedic, on 06/21/2009, -3/+37And people said that Anonymous didnt do anything to scientology.
AND THUS UNTO TYRANTS! - Jamiekin, on 06/21/2009, -2/+35Holy crap!! This is huge!! I've been waiting to see when Mike Rinder was gonna speak out. In case anyone didn't know, he was pretty much THE PR person and face for scientology for a long, long while until he blew a few years ago. Scientology had to find a new figure head in the form of Tommy Davis.
- JurisAnonimus, on 06/21/2009, -3/+36This is going to be buried like crazy by the Scilons' puppet accounts. All hands on deck.
- inactive, on 06/21/2009, -4/+37RIP, CoS. Actually, enjoy hell you evil *****.
- Snoware, on 06/21/2009, -2/+35Brown crap is dripping from fans all over Downtown Clearwater. Water less clear naow?
- skiingpowder10, on 06/21/2009, -2/+35It's a cult and a very dangerous one at that!
- stooge4ever, on 06/21/2009, -1/+33This is the best Scientology expose ever!
-Binky79 - styx31989, on 06/21/2009, -0/+32I like how you fail to address his other points.
