- rawnzilla, on 03/26/2009, -1/+56Come with me if you want to live.... in the fairgrounds!
- Iggins, on 03/26/2009, -1/+46Seriously? Only complaints? In this situation what _would_ make you guys happy? Arresting them? Giving them free money? Killing them? Letting them stay where they are? I think before you bash this idea, you should offer one of your own...
- Ghostalker, on 03/26/2009, -2/+36I may not agree with his policies, but I will say that's the kind of compassionate conservatism that Republicans always preach but never follow.
- andyb747, on 03/26/2009, -4/+31get to the choppa !!!
- lhbaker, on 03/26/2009, -3/+27Arnold ran as a Republican, but he's a true Democrat at heart (Gay rights, abortion rights, etc.). Nice to see him taking some action, even if it is a purely political move after getting embarrassed by Oprah. I actually kind of like the guy.
- inactive, on 03/26/2009, -2/+19God I hope one day you will be homeless. So somebody can quote this comment back at you.
- lordmike, on 03/26/2009, -3/+18Don't you mean Bushvilles? Or did you forget Hoover, too? They are both int he same vein!
- drmobutu, on 03/25/2009, -2/+17The State Fair is starting a little early, this year...
- sockpuppets, on 03/26/2009, -2/+16I'm typing this from your mom's tent. She helped me pitch one of my own.
- lhbaker, on 03/26/2009, -3/+17This has nothing to do with Obama (if anything, the blame falls on Bush). Regardless, the tent city in question has been there for years. Oprah's show just embarrassed a few politicians.
- frankdozier, on 08/10/2009, -1/+15That's good stuff.
- solidcube, on 03/26/2009, -2/+16Hey, *I* am happy with him. Arnold is a surprisingly good governator considering that he's a weightlifter and star of B action films. Seriously, it could just be the effect of not expecting much from him but I think the guy actually cares about his job, and tries very hard indeed to do the right thing.
I certainly have more respect for him than ANY other republican politician. - pvaras, on 03/26/2009, -0/+12Awesome.
- Hetman, on 03/26/2009, -0/+12hey I only take admiral akbar advice when it comes to trap related situations.
- alienufo, on 03/26/2009, -4/+15I believe the correct term is "Bushville".
- Iggins, on 03/26/2009, -2/+12Wait, wut? o_0
- binky79, on 03/26/2009, -2/+11Dude, sell your iPhone.
- DP84, on 03/26/2009, -0/+9Nice of him not to terminate them.
...i'll digg myself down now. - Metalcard, on 03/26/2009, -1/+10That's cool, but what about the Tent City near by in Chino/Ontario, and the one in Fontana, can they go ahead and stay at the LA Fair grounds since its closer? I mean, they already tore down several large houses to make room for more tents, but there still isn't enough room on the lots they are staying at. I'd really like to see this extend beyond just the site Oprah happened to talk about, since there are many others.
- Wreckage, on 03/26/2009, -1/+10Tent cities in California, bank failures by the thousands, foreclosures by the millions.
Starting to sound more and more like a Depression. - relaxeder, on 04/17/2009, -2/+10...Yeah, because everybody on the streets and homeless totally asked for it.
- sockpuppets, on 03/26/2009, -0/+8Sounds like a rave to me.
- rharris, on 03/26/2009, -0/+8Shouldn't these be called Shruburbs?
- rharris, on 03/26/2009, -1/+9They're actually called Shruburbs.

- MelvinSchlubman, on 03/26/2009, -2/+8> a circle of bums standing
Charming characterization. Is that what we should call you if you end up in one of these? - lhbaker, on 03/26/2009, -0/+6I guess the difference is that I think Giuliani is a scumbag, but I don't feel the same way about Arnold. I was pissed when he ran, but I have to admit he's a breath of fresh air compared to Gray Davis. Political party really shouldn't matter, and I think in Schwarzenegger's case, it really doesn't. I honestly believe that he does what he thinks is right.
- morrissey79, on 03/26/2009, -0/+5If action movies with fairground scenes have taught me anything, this will end with Arnie hunting them down one by one with a the final hobo being killed in the hall of mirrors.
- solidcube, on 03/26/2009, -0/+5You could even say he was almost a stealth candidate.
- KMartSheriff, on 03/26/2009, -11/+16Digg's anti-Obama comments are becoming so predictable.
- o76923, on 03/26/2009, -3/+8Go Arnie! If more Republicans were like you, we wouldn't hate them so much.
- TheJimid, on 03/26/2009, -0/+5Sadly the only actual house at the fairground is pretty tough to live in with all the crooked floors and crazy mirrors.
- erkokite, on 03/26/2009, -0/+5You win, good sir.
- s0krat3z, on 03/26/2009, -3/+8They're just jealous 'cause they're still living out of their momma's basement.
- brad3378, on 03/26/2009, -2/+6I bet his wife made him do it.
- sockpuppets, on 03/26/2009, -0/+4The economy can't repel homelessness of this magnitude!
- IxXxIRhinoIxXxI, on 03/26/2009, -0/+4http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iMjG2s6UOaw
- lsloany, on 03/26/2009, -2/+6I definitely agree with you about Mr. S. I don't know much about his record in California but what little I hear all seems surprisingly good, and very anti-republican, for lack of a better word.
- majormajor42, on 03/26/2009, -0/+4that's a nice tent you got there. wanna refinance it?
- machoraz, on 03/26/2009, -0/+4Get to da fairgrounds!!
- vat0r, on 03/26/2009, -0/+3Seriously if you read that in Arnold's voice it's hilarious.
- inactive, on 03/26/2009, -1/+4No. He's Republican. He's a socially liberal, fiscally conservative one, like Giuliani. So-called New Republicans do exist, but have no chance of winning a national primary because of the socially conservative Republican base, even though they would likely be shoe-ins for a general election.
- solidcube, on 03/26/2009, -1/+4"seriously? ANY other republican politician? "
Name one.
Look what the man has accomplished in his life. No silver spoon for him, he sweated hundreds of gallons for every single ounce of success he has in life. Then, as governor, he has done quite a number of things that were so well thought-out that it surprised me. - wishninja, on 03/26/2009, -0/+3They just want the story to go away.
- smoses123456, on 03/26/2009, -6/+9Coming to a neighborhood to you
- winmywii, on 03/26/2009, -4/+7I bet oprah could fit all these people in her house if she really gave a damn.
- yacks, on 03/26/2009, -1/+4Actually, the republicans in Sacremento are like him when it comes to raising taxes.. Don't let this heartfelt story fool you.. it's to cover up the fact that a lot of people hate him now because of the tax hikes.. which some of them will probably become homeless because of them.
- Lederhosed, on 03/26/2009, -0/+3This demonstrates the power of Oprah, combined with the power of a mayor who was an NBA basketball star, to get the attention of a celebrity-savvy governor. They all understand the camera, and thus the power of the iconography of Hooverville (now Bushville).
