    If you truly study the church history, and view what people have done in the name of religion- it makes one take pause and wonder. The New Covenant established by Jesus Christ does not condone in any way the use of violence- it does quite the opposite.
    From most of the comments above, I would guess that many of the readers of WND would like the same punishment given to the man who killed his daughter.
    It is a difficult problem, and the man does need to be held accountable for what he did.
    Until we begin the do what the Gospels command, we will never be looked at as anything but hypocrites

        Consider this: the Mosaic Law very strongly supported the death penalty and Jesus never once disobeyed the law or taught against it. Jesus did not come to destroy these provisions but to fulfill them.

        The story of the woman caught in adultery is interesting. Keep in mind that adultery does not necessarily lead to the death penalty. Joseph, who suspected Mary of adultery, “put her away secretly” (Matt. 1:19). It’s obvious by the story in John that Jesus was being set up. Notice that Jesus did not abolish the death penalty in anything He said. He asked for witnesses. None came forth. Where was the man? The scribes and Pharisees claimed she had “been caught in adultery, in the very act” (John 8:3–4). It takes two to tango. We’ve already seen that it was the Pharisees who were lawless. They favored their own traditions over against the written law.

        The requirement that only a person who is sinless can cast the first stone is misunderstood. If this were the requirement for adjudication, no witness would be worthy to testify in any criminal case. Jesus was identifying their duplicity and complicity in the crime. They, too, were adulterers. Was one of them the other adulterer? Was she a prostitute that all of them “used” on a regular basis? How does a group of men find a couple in the very act of adultery unless they know where to look? Jesus knew their hearts, because “He Himself knew what was in man” (John 2:25). They walked away because they could not meet the standards of the law. In the end, there were no witnesses against her. What is different about similar judicial proceedings today? If there are no witnesses willing to testify, a prosecutor has no case. Even so, Jesus tells the woman, “from now on sin no more” (8:11).

    What encourages me is that despite all the baloney and buffoonery of the mega-multimedia counterfeit "church" activity today (Osteen, Rick Warren, word-faith, et al) the true and pure message of the Gospel still shines (and always will shine) through the mud. People of all stripes are still being saved today because "faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God."

    We here in these posts at times do violence to the message of Christ. Yet we can rest assured that even when we blow it, God's program is not thwarted. Those who hate Christ (like we once did) may one day be made to see, just as the Apostle Paul. Others will take their hatred of God with them to the judgment. Fortunately, this young lady's last act was to die for her faith.

    What will our last act be? A thoughtless post to the internet or an act of true faith?

From what I have learned, neither one will no what the other is saying (separate interviews) and I also understand he will be asking some tough questions. Now, I have never listened to Rick Warren, but I will tune into the program and see just how tough the questions are and how the candidates will respond. That means that neither one should have access to a phone, or computer to know what the other candidate is saying. I think it will be enlightening and then people can again decide who to vote for based on the questions raised.

I think that many of us Americans, do have a tough time internalizing even the IDEA that someone would be capable of this insane, vicious behavior. Perhaps then, on our part, denial of the danger occurs...
    I want to figure out whom to contact in either Virginia state, or federal gov't re: the Saudi school in Virginia. I've heard there are other schools teaching the same murderous propaganda (one in Brooklyn, NY comes to mind) and I say it is high time we do whatever we can to get those bast*rds out of here, or at least shut down. That anyone should be allowed to come to our beloved America and set up shop to train youngsters to murder.... Well? What do you think???

    AS we all understand, the people with the power have, and will continue to do, whatever
    pleases them, until we put our collective foot down and demand that they behave in the best interest of the citizens of THIS COUNTRY. I remember raising my (now grown) son. There were MANY times that I had to "get off my behind" and chase him down, and MAKE him do the right thing! Well, we have allowed our government to get away with way too much and now we have to 'get off our behind(s)" and chase them down and MAKE them do the right thing! AMEN?

        yeah, I am back...If WND or any other organization prints these stories, it is to educate. I DO AGREE that it drums up hatred for Muslims, but people need to know what these people are about and what they eventually want to see happen in this country and the world. If you are not a believer of Islam, you are an infidel and deserve death. That is their mantra. Naturally, I also believe there are Muslims who don't identify with the extreme positions of Islam. There are millions of good Muslims, just as there are good Christians, non-believers, etc.

The major news tend to leave out information since they are more liberal minded and very biased. Why won't they speak the truth? Why do they mock Christians, or people in the publics eye whom they want to destroy? I am already sick and tired of the Edwards story, yet the news media didn't go after him with a vengeance like they did with other people in the spotlight who screwed up. And frankly, I wish the whole lot of them would but out of some of these private dealings and focus on world events that affect us all. And just so you know, I am not a Fox fan nor do I listen to talk radio. I try to balance what I hear from all the networks.

The word "Allah" means god, but the word "god" doesn't necessarily mean the Creator God of the Bible. Were Allah the same God, his precepts would be the same as those put forward in the Bible. God is immutable, He doesn't change, "He is the same yesterday, today and forever." One of His commandments is, "Thou shalt not kill." This means very clearly, as an individual you will not kill another individual. Power to kill is given to the State, but only for specific reasons. There is much debate about this; however, the statement is very clear. Therefore, to kill a daughter because she chose to accept the Lord as her Savior is a heinous crime, but the arrest is mostly for political reasons. This man will go free and actually be respected as a defender of the faith. Second, Saudi Arabia is not our friend. The Saudis want our money, and they want us to educate their sons so that they can one day dominate us and establish the US as a Muslim country. They have said so! Since most of us do not speak Arabic, we wouldn't necessarily be aware of this, but it is said regularly in their Mosques by their Imams who teach the Muslim children to hate Jews and Christians. This, friends, is satanic, pure and simple. Third, the President and the State Department of the United States need to understand that the ultimate aim of Saudi Arabia is to overtake us the same as they are slowly overtaking Europe. Sucking up to them and trying to befriend them because we need their oil will not change their objective. They will continue to kill Christians and Jews, they will continue to burn churches and kill pastors and suppress the spread of the Gospel in Muslim countries while they continue to spread their lies and violence across the world. They send thousands of students to the US every year not all of whom return to Saudi Arabia. They are buying up American businesses, including banks, and are going to control this nation in the not too distant future. Our own greed is partly to blame for the looming crisis, but then, we too suppress the Gospel here. What can we expect!?

    Problem being, they aren't content with just butchering their own children, friends and relatives - they are intent on doing the same to everyone who does not agree with them. And at the time this was put into effect, it seems it was so ingrained into their very souls, their very beings, that they can't rely on rationalization - they can't interpret it any other way than the way it's written.
