San Francisco plans to be electric car capital

reuters.com — SAN FRANCISCO, Nov 20 (Reuters) - San Francisco Bay Area cities promised to build the electric car capital of the United States, announcing a plan on Thursday to work with start-up Better Place to put. Has anyone thought about the amount of batteries that would need to be disposed of? Tax payers will be left footing the bill.

We have enough here we don't need Arab oil + it will put people back to work in our country. Beijing has bicycles, San Fran has electric cars, big whoop. Let's see how long that will last.
  • FLMOM1, on 11/21/2008, -0/+0While I was at the Honda dealer getting an oil change I learned that not only do you pay a $5000 premium for a hybrid, you also pay a premium on service on the vehicle. There's no way you 'll even own the car long enough to make up for all of the premium charges. Also replacing the batteries.... AGGGGHHHHH!
