- seldon452, on 05/05/2009, -0/+61He won't have to spin it. In North Korea the people won't hear anything of it. The media is totally controlled. If anything, the headline will be: North Koreans Defend Against Pirates.

NKorean warship rescues SKorean vessel off Somalia - BorsKaegel, on 05/04/2009, -1/+59Awkward...
- ZhiZaki, on 05/04/2009, -1/+50A nice tip of the hat to their Northern Brothers.

- DirtyVicar, on 05/05/2009, -0/+34S. Korean Ship Interferes with Peaceful Navigation
Pyongyang, May 4 (KCNA) -- The south naval fleet violated the orderly navigation of a freighter of the People's Republic of Korea, upsetting the oil levels in the delicately balanced Juche Lodestone. The south Korean authorities and the conservative media are now far-fetchedly asserting that the naval ship "saved" the DPRK cargo vessel. This cannot be interpreted otherwise than shameless sophism and a plot to falsify the truth about the case and shift the responsibility for the bedeviled inter-Korean relations to the Somalian pirates. If the south Korean authorities and its puppet media go reckless, distorting the essence of the case, they will be held fully accountable for all the ensuing consequences. - inactive, on 05/05/2009, -3/+33NINJAS BEAT PIRATES!!
- zoom1928, on 05/05/2009, -2/+30Exactly. Asians hate blacks more than they hate each other. Being stationed in South Korea in the army showed me that.
- XDingoX83, on 05/05/2009, -0/+28A person shouldn't hate the people of a country only its government.

Personally, I'm curious about the NK ship's cargo. I'd like to have someone put a Geiger counter on the holds. - inactive, on 05/05/2009, -0/+21South Korea's got Seoul

- consoneo, on 05/05/2009, -1/+20I can't even tell if this is real or not. Good work :P
- ChinaLumberjack, on 05/05/2009, -0/+18That's funny, I heard the same story earlier today. Except in this version, the unarmed North Korean freighter valiantly defended their South Korean brothers, sinking the pirate warship by chanting the name of the Glorious Leader. Afterwards the North Korean captain extended an invitation to the South Korean actual but was killed in a back-handed act of betrayal as the capitalist guns opened fire on the unsuspecting ship. The South Korean's would have seized the freighter, if it were not for Kim Jong Ill, who upon hearing the chanting of his people transformed into caped super hero Super Ill, flew halfway across the world dodging American missile destroyers and outrunning F-16 interceptors, and vaporized the South's ship with his awesome optic blast.
- inactive, on 05/05/2009, -0/+17A good deed for a mortal enemy... I don't give a ***** about the people who say that the only solution to all conflicts is violence, it gives one hope to see such actions. If we have any hope of surviving as a species, we're going to have to learn other ways of resolving conflicts. Faith in humanity +1.
- TheSkunkMonkey, on 05/05/2009, -5/+20My guess is the warship intervened because they were fellow sailors and had nothing to do with political allegiance.
- MatzahMan, on 05/05/2009, -1/+15South Korea is the *****
- inactive, on 05/05/2009, -0/+11Just proves.....It isn't one country that has issues with another, it is the leadership that has the issues.....
Here is a situation where people help people. If North Korea relaxes a little, maybe they can learn from their neighbors in South Korea. - maz2331, on 05/05/2009, -0/+11Pirates have always been considered the ultimate scourge of the sea, and there is ample precident for mortal enemies rescuing each other from piracy. They may shoot each other, but only after the pirates had been hanged.
- solistus, on 05/05/2009, -0/+9Hey, you're good. I hear there's a job shortage over there. Want to come work for us?

- jitterbits, on 05/05/2009, -0/+7North Korea is hardly a shining example of communism.
- enigmatics, on 05/05/2009, -2/+10That would be punishment enough...
- wesbc, on 05/05/2009, -0/+7Who would have thought, it takes pirates to unite the world and finally bring ever lasting peace.
- anthropodeus, on 05/05/2009, -1/+8North Korea is *****
- Ymeg, on 05/05/2009, -1/+8They are at war. This kind of action does not just randomly happen.
It was more likely to strength relations and wash some of the propaganda off the sailors. Maybe even get them to defect. - rotundo, on 05/05/2009, -0/+6It seemed to me when I visited South Korea that they are a class act regarding the north.

- sanskrtam, on 05/05/2009, -0/+4North Korea ditched Marxist-Leninism long time ago.
- bluepill2, on 05/05/2009, -1/+6When I read the title, my first thought was that the South Koreans were warning the pirates not to mess with the North Koreans. "If you know what's good for you, folks, trust us, those guys are ku-rah-zeeee", etc.
- inactive, on 05/05/2009, -0/+5Aye, laddie. Tis truth ye speak.
- charlietuna, on 05/05/2009, -0/+5Those devilish imperialists probably set up the entire operation just to trick the noble DPRK sailors! They will fail in this transparent attempt at deception.
http://neoavatara.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009 ... - jedinate, on 05/05/2009, -0/+5I wonder what would have happened if the roles were reversed?
