Russia cruiser to test weapons in crowded Black Sea

alertnet.org — Russia's flagship cruiser re-entered the Black Sea on Monday for weapons tests hours after the Russian military complained about the presence of U.S. and other NATO naval ships near the Georgian coast.

  • BohicaTwentyTwo, on 08/27/2008, -0/+1Not for nothing, but the US has been pretty non-confrontational regarding the ships it sent into the Black Sea. A single destroyer along with a minimally armed Coast Guard cutter and command ship is not what I would call a battle group. The command ship only has defensive weapons while the cutter carries a single 76 mm cannon.
