Looks like the lines are being drawn alright -
Out thoughts should be with the people
who were, until recently,
just living their lives like you and me - - 2bsbc, on 08/21/2008, -0/+9Link to the article stating all airports and ports were surrendered to the U.S.

Bush's pledge to send aid to Georgia means that the U.S. military will take control of the ex-Soviet state's ports and airports, Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili said on Wednesday.
"You have heard the statement by the U.S. president that the United States is starting a military-humanitarian operation in Georgia," Saakashvili said in a television address.
"It means that Georgian ports and airports will be taken under the control of the U.S. defense ministry in order to conduct humanitarian and other missions. This is a very important statement for easing tension."

- Killwize, on 08/21/2008, -3/+13I heard Georgia started it.
- yessuz, on 08/21/2008, -8/+3You heard it Wrong.
In the begining - Osetians which were supported by Russia Started "accident firing" to Georgian side..
And then Georgians, AFTER like 3 months of constant "short attacks" fighted back. - dinsy, on 08/21/2008, -0/+6They did.
- ad33lshahid, on 08/22/2008, -0/+3I can see western powers encouraging Georgia to try and capture South Ossetia, assuring them of support, and demonizing Russia when the inevitable response came. Notice how it was timed in concordance with the US-Poland missile defense deal which Russia was so opposed to.
- yessuz, on 08/22/2008, -1/+1Omg. ppl..
3 from USA - what you know about things happening in Europe/Georgia?!

- SetOverSet, on 08/21/2008, -0/+4But I don't want a new Cold War. I want to read the Huffington Post and all of my Chomsky books while I sit at Starbucks. Please can't everyone just get along?
- yellowcakewalk, on 08/22/2008, -0/+3You clearly have never read any Chomsky.
- SetOverSet, on 08/23/2008, -0/+1Actually, I've been forced fed a lot of his "material". Personally, I'd rather read Huntington.
- Fangsinmybeard, on 08/21/2008, -0/+8A siege is in the works!
- GrandmaSheila, on 08/24/2008, -0/+2The Russians have every right to oppose missile systems in their front yard. We would do the same. Or does anyone believe the US would tolerate Russian "defensive missiles" in Canada or Mexico, or Cuba?
Blame the neocons, spreading disaster wherever they go, in the name of predatory capitalism. Of course, it's all about pleasing the MIC, who can count on blank checks on that empty treasury now.
I wonder if this will put a crimp in the mega-bank bail outs?
