- calebian, on 03/11/2009, -26/+335This man will be written about in text books hundreds of years from now
- Texan4Life, on 03/11/2009, -2/+255woot... how could anyone NOT support this?
- theskillwithin, on 03/11/2009, -6/+259why hasn't this been a law all along?
the people deserve to know where their money goes.
money that is supposed to help people. - Pinkshisno, on 03/11/2009, -7/+257No need to bury this. Like him or not (I personally disagree with a lot that he says), he's right. We need to see how that bailout money is being spent.
- inactive, on 03/11/2009, -7/+242This is something that ALL Americans can and should get behind. Even Dems have offered support to Paul on this bill.
- dimebonics, on 03/11/2009, -31/+254Can we behead anyone who votes against this? Please?
- RonPauls, on 03/11/2009, -8/+222Ron Paul cleaning up Washington once again
- kemp34, on 03/11/2009, -8/+220The Federal Reserve, through its credit pumping, is the biggest player in the boom-bust cycle that has lain waste to our economy.
Additionally, the system is inherently unconstitutional (see Article I, Section 8 and Article 1, Section 10).
The Fed resists any efforts for it to be audited, even though it is the role of CONGRESS to oversee the currency system (which the Constitution explicitly says is only supposed to allow for gold and silver as legal tender).
The "Federal Reserve Note" usurpation of the US$ is a debt-based fiat currency. Every unit of currency brought into existence is tied to a unit of debt, therefore, there is no way to realistically retire all debts.
The Federal Reserve is privately owned and is a banking cartel in an eminently corporatist/fascist sense.
Unconstitutional legal tender laws provide a de facto monopoly on credit and currency issuance by this cartel.
The Federal Reserve balance sheet has ballooned to roughly $2 trillion over the past year with all the efforts to bail out failed firms.
Needless to say, the least they can do is audit this mofo. - MegatonSamurai, on 03/11/2009, -10/+135Beginning of the end for the Fed
- DarkNinja75, on 03/11/2009, -9/+123That's nice. Let's see if it even makes it out of committee.
- RainCloud, on 03/11/2009, -2/+110The Federal reserve is too powerful not to be audited. At very least we deserve to know what they are doing.
- fapturbous, on 03/11/2009, -3/+107We can kill the Fed (the 4th "bank of the US"). Andrew Jackson did it to 2nd in 1833...
- deweyhewson, on 03/11/2009, -7/+105It may be difficult to kill the Fed completely, but we may still be able to reign in the beast.
Ron Paul, one of the last true Statesmen. - Amshel, on 03/11/2009, -2/+93Write your Congressmen, folks!
https://writerep.house.gov/writerep/welcome.shtml - richmomz, on 03/11/2009, -7/+97And historians will wonder "why the hell didn't we LISTEN to this guy sooner?"
- Thinbev, on 03/11/2009, -3/+90Democrats and Republicans should support this bill. Why should the Federal Reserve Bank go unchecked?
Our politicians want to regulate the lives of us little people, but they never want to regulate the big boys. Audit the Federal Reserve! - j.carcinogen, on 03/11/2009, -2/+85We have a right to audit them, they audit us... if not they should not be compliant with our government's monetary system.
- AlpineStars777, on 03/11/2009, -3/+85The moral and constitutional obligations of our representatives in Washington are to protect our liberty, not coddle the world, precipitating no-win wars, while bringing bankruptcy and economic turmoil to our people.
-Ron Paul - inactive, on 03/11/2009, -12/+91anyone that votes against this should be removed from their position of power and tried for treason, we deserve to know where OUR money is being spent
RON PAUL 2012!!! - richmomz, on 03/11/2009, -3/+77It's remarkable that such a humble, soft spoken guy can have such massive balls. Ron Paul is ***** awesome.
- twiztidsinz, on 03/11/2009, -10/+78As the first Human/Cyborg hybrid?
TRON PAUL - RonaldLewis, on 03/11/2009, -0/+58I concur, let's get the ball rolling! If you need inspiration, listen to my recent call to Ben Bernanke's office and hear for yourself why the Federal Reserve MUST go:
http://ronaldlewis.com/federal-reserve-ignores-ple ... - xxacefirexx, on 03/11/2009, -7/+62It's smart use "transparency" in the bill name. It's an Obama Administration buzzword and will look good to the democrats.
- Deeh, on 03/11/2009, -2/+57The whole right v.s. left thing is something the politicians and the media loves to use to pit us against each other and keep our attention of the real culprits.
***** the status quo. You can't rely on one person to bring change, everyone has to take part! - richmomz, on 03/11/2009, -4/+53No joke, just ask JFK.
- richmomz, on 03/11/2009, -2/+47...of course shortly thereafter there was an attempt to kill HIM. Coincidence?
- casek, on 03/11/2009, -2/+45for further reference:

bernanke refusing to tell senator dorgan where some of the money is going.... - bugsy187, on 03/11/2009, -3/+45I'll go out on a limb and say the public overwhelmingly wants to know how their tax dollars are spent in the bailout. Unfortunately many elected "representatives" disagree.
- Reddog_x2000, on 03/11/2009, -3/+45...or the beginning of the end for Ron Paul. Don't get me wrong. I'm a fan of his. I donated $ to his campaign. But, the fed is very powerful and I suspect that ***** with them is likely to shorten your life expectancy.
- richmomz, on 03/11/2009, -2/+44That's not all... during the War of 1812 he took on a British force that outnumbered him 3 to 1 with a rag-tag band of soldiers that included a bunch of freaking PIRATES. He won. Also, after his would be assassin failed to shoot him, he proceeded to beat the ***** within an inch of his life with his cane before his security detail restrained him. That's right, back in the day when men had balls the Secret Service had to protect the ASSASSIN from the PRESIDENT. And don't even get me started about his epic de-pantsing of the crooks that ran the central bank...
He wasn't perfect, but he had the balls to do what needed to be done and did it well. You say he was a little crazy - I think he was ***** awesome. But then I'm a little biased as you might guess from my avatar. - richmomz, on 03/11/2009, -3/+44Tempting but that would be a little un-democratic and kinda against everything Ron Paul stands for, don't you think?
- alexsk8ca, on 03/11/2009, -4/+45Article is not about Ron Paul, it's about the bill. Your a ***** idiot.
- seduirai, on 03/11/2009, -4/+45go get 'em Ron.
- alexsk8ca, on 03/11/2009, -8/+47Yeah, ignore the fact that the bill is a good thing and just bury it. Even if you don't support him its hard to say that this bill is a bad idea. If you aren't arguing about the bill (which is what the article is about) then shut the ***** up. If you are arguing about the bill then do it, and tell us why it is a bad idea.
- NotedFuturist, on 03/11/2009, -4/+43He's getting bigger. Can he be the new face of the GOP?
- MiDNiGHTS, on 03/11/2009, -3/+40Probably wont like what you see even if it's necessary.
- purplechoe, on 03/11/2009, -2/+39Make Bernanke show us his cards. I bet he's bluffing!
- outlawrook, on 03/11/2009, -2/+39so even though it is a great idea just because it is from ron pual its bad? we can just pretend someone else is doing it if that will please you
- markingtime, on 03/11/2009, -2/+39Just Wrote my congressman. Have you?
- deema1, on 03/11/2009, -7/+43I appreciate Dr. Paul's efforts, but I'm afraid they're in vain. Our government, both Republicans and Democrats, answers to nobody.
- madeinwv1979, on 03/11/2009, -7/+43LOVE LOVE THIS MAN!! I'm proud to say i "wasted" my vote and wrote in RON PAUL!! HE IS WHAT THIS COUNTRY NEEDS!!
- j.carcinogen, on 03/11/2009, -0/+36He's better competition for the country than a neoconservative.
- sgerwel1985, on 03/11/2009, -2/+37Great move by Ron Paul and his supporters. Personally, if my tax dollars are being used in ways i personally do not agree with, i'd like to know that they are being used in a way in which we are led to believe. Realistically though, i have a tough time seeing this all come full circle and go the way Mr. Paul and his supporters intend. However, i will be rooting for this bill.
- Dennisisok, on 03/11/2009, -0/+34The Fed will say that telling you where the money went would be bad for the institutions they sent the money to. For example, If the Fed reveals that they have given a billion dollars to whomever, people would assume that whomever was in distress and keep their money away from that company.
This is a pretty stupid reason to keep information secret, we can all agree. However, I bet this will be the argument presented in opposition this bill.
...If it even gets that far. What ever happened to Kucinich's articles of impeachment against bush? It just got buried. The same will probably happen here. - Dennisisok, on 03/11/2009, -3/+35It comes off as a bit too sarcastic. Hard to tell if you're being serious or mocking.
- gingerboy, on 03/11/2009, -1/+31Or Lous McFadden?
"A world banking system was being set up here...A superstate controlled by international bankers...acting together to enslave the world for their own pleasure. The FED has usurped the Government."
He then began impeachment proceedings against the FED just after the great depression, saying...
"It was a carefully contrived occurrence. International bankers sought to bring about a condition of despair, so that they might emerge the rulers of us all"
Shortly after this and after 2 unsuccessful attempts he was assassinated.....poisoned at a banquet before he could push the impeachment proceedings along.
round and round and round we go!
"Give me control of a nations money supply, and I care not who makes its laws"
(Mayer Amschel Rothschild, founder of the Rothschild banking dynasty) - GovernmentSp00k, on 03/11/2009, -1/+31"you want a list of the -banks- ?!"
lol.. the 'surprise' in her voice was priceless.
How dare you want that! Who do you think you are, a citizen?
Nice going Ronald. Thanks for taking action. More Americans need to do this. Get on these weaselly ***** slimeball criminals who hi-jacked our country and economy. Let 'em know we're on to the financial schemes, scams and massive manipulations. Could you imagine if MILLIONS of us did this? There would be a ripple effect, believe me..We're supposed to be dumbed down programmed to believe this so-called 'global economic "crisis" propagated by the controlled "news" media on all channels plus cable just happened out of thin air for whatever ***** reason the mis-leaders shovel on us right..Hitting us over the head in their media 24/7 with propaganda telling us what to think and what to believe. No mystery why a bought, sold & paid-for Con-gress is scared ***** to audit this "Federal Reserve" farce. It's a trans-national fraud that would embarrass way too many "important" people. And why isn't $billion dollar stock market Fraudster Bernie Madoff in federal prison yet? He's gonna plead "guilty" right. No doubt the organized crime in power worked out a tidy little "deal" for the criminal behind the scenes. They're not going to implicate or indict one of their own. He will walk - you watch. There's no chance of him serving prison it's all smoke & mirrors BS like everything else they do. Going thru the motions once again, at our expense. Now if one of us average taxpayer slave commoner serfs for cannon fodder and taxes did that *****? We'd be locked up for life the next day, throw away the key right. It's time we take our country back.. - Deeh, on 03/11/2009, -3/+31The fact that his bills don't pass is a testament to a broken political system, not a bad idea.
