Researchers achieve breakthrough in developing SARS vaccine; Bird Flu Next?
newsdesk.umd.edu — A team of veterinary scientists at UMD (with NIH) have been successful at developing a SARS vaccine from poultry virus by using the reverse genetics method.The team led by Prof. Siba Samal are now using the same virus to develop a vaccine for the dreaded H5N1, the avian influenza virus causing widespread concern across the globe.
