- PlanckTime, on 06/10/2009, -0/+33That sucks. It's like getting run over by the ambulance that's coming to your aid.
- groo68, on 06/10/2009, -0/+32The hiker is obviously an axe murderer who just scored a helicopter.
- velveetaavenger, on 06/10/2009, -0/+25That's why you don't pick up hitchhikers.
- eyepennies, on 06/10/2009, -1/+23I had something really stupid to say in my comment, but decided to write this instead.
- absolutelytrue, on 06/10/2009, -3/+25Oh wow, how freaky. I can't even imagine how the hiker's family must feel.
- jlan, on 06/10/2009, -1/+22Never pick up a hiker!
- gambit2121, on 06/10/2009, -1/+20that hiker's having a bad day
- sjbdallas, on 06/10/2009, -2/+17Sounds like that hiker's number is truly up.
- PlanckTime, on 06/10/2009, -0/+14"Olson said the numbers of search volunteers were being bolstered as dawn was breaking in the 12,000-foot-high area."
It's cold in them thar (2 mile high) hills. Even in June. - SteelChicken, on 06/10/2009, -1/+13Santa Fe National FOREST is not the same as Sante Fe the TOWN. Really?
- Snottlebocket, on 06/10/2009, -0/+11The 'hiker' is probably some sort of vaguely humanoid creature or mutant that ate the helicopter crew. *whistles X-files theme*
- HHP2K, on 06/10/2009, -1/+10You dawg I heard you like getting lost so we sent you a confused rescue helicopter so you can get lost while you get lost!
- theanswer0611, on 06/10/2009, -3/+11MARCO!

- Cornfedhusker, on 06/10/2009, -2/+9Polo!
- FritoPendejo, on 06/10/2009, -0/+7You know that old children's tale from the sea. It's like you're dreamin' about Gorgonzola cheese when it's clearly Brie time, baby. Step into my office.
- CaptainPanda, on 06/10/2009, -1/+8RESCUE FAIL!
- mikemehak, on 06/10/2009, -0/+7ATTENTION.
This is finally a story where you can use the term IRONIC
The term that is incorrectly thrown around constantly. Yet we have all these comments no mention.
However, if it was a thread about a man getting tripping on his shoelaces, there would be 20 people calling it ironic darwinism (regardless of the fact he had 6 kids and didn't die)
just an observation - RumpleForeskin3, on 06/10/2009, -0/+7Must have been Rambo
- DaFoxx, on 06/10/2009, -0/+7Sounds like Hollywood just got another idea for a movie plot.
- lovek, on 06/10/2009, -0/+7A big chunk of New Mexico is mountainous. Albuquerque sits at a higher elevation than Denver. I used to live a few miles east of ABQ in the mountains and was another 2500 feet on top of that. You can also drive up to Sandia Peak between ABQ and where I used to live... at an elevation of over 11,000.
Santa Fe is much the same as it's only a little more north.
So yeah, you get up there in the mountains, you'll still see plenty of snow.
Also, Santa Fe Nat'l Forest borders Santa Fe the TOWN, so... they're pretty much the same, SteelChicken. Really. - SoyJames, on 06/10/2009, -0/+7@NMDPS brief radio communication w pilot just after crash. Pilot said hit side of mountain. Dispatch asked are you 10-4? Pilot said not really.
- ebcreasoner, on 06/10/2009, -1/+7Not only the hiker, but now also the pilot's and spotter's families. If I's a prayin' man, I'd pray. For now my heart goes out to the lost.
- Armstrong3, on 06/10/2009, -3/+9women ***** up everything.
- SkippyDoorknob, on 06/10/2009, -0/+6Was it piloted by Large Marge?
- TurdFaceManLove, on 06/10/2009, -1/+6Your imagination sucks.
- ChronicColonic, on 06/10/2009, -0/+4The Hitcher II
- youliveinfear, on 06/10/2009, -0/+4Don't worry, I crash better than anyone I know.
- VAXcat, on 06/10/2009, -0/+4Ran into a Cumulo-Granite cloud formation
- BrownieMix, on 06/10/2009, -1/+5Agreed. Women suck, that's why I'm gay.
- papashawn, on 06/10/2009, -0/+4Now we have to get the men that went in to get the men that went in to get the men.
- TheGuruStud, on 06/10/2009, -0/+4I have female friend that doesn't really have any girlfriends. She knows bitches are crazy so she doesn't deal with them haha.
- sjbdallas, on 06/10/2009, -0/+3Yeah, it's like the guy that survives a heart attack but then dies when the ambulance get's hit by a bus.
- DulcetTone, on 06/10/2009, -0/+3I have never seen "Lost", but this sounds like a season finale cliffhanger borrowed from it
- sh1tman, on 06/10/2009, -0/+2Why?
- maddonkey, on 06/10/2009, -1/+3because they steal your change from the cupholder
- pathouston22, on 06/10/2009, -0/+2I was just in the Santa Fe National Forest a week ago (along with the Rockies in Colorado). There is plenty of snow above 8, 9 thousand feet at this time of the year.
- pcpimpster, on 06/10/2009, -1/+3Quick drug run to mexico? In all seriousness, hope he's okay.
- malloryhoke, on 06/10/2009, -0/+1What are the odds?? That hiker clearly didn't stand a chance. sad!
- sanguinekane, on 06/11/2009, -0/+2OK, maybe I'm just crazy, but with that story a few days ago about the Boston police twittering that one of their officers had been bitten by someone and was taken to the hospital, and then this about the pick up of a lost hiker in a remote area, and then the heli goes down soon thereafter, who isn't convinced we're seeing the very beginnings of WWZ?
- kickingback77, on 06/13/2009, -0/+1The pilot should have responded with a song like:
Because you had a bad day
You're taking one down
You sing a sad song just to turn it around
You say you don't know
You tell me don't lie
You work at a smile and you go for a ride .......
http://www.helinet.com - SoyJames, on 06/10/2009, -2/+3Heli beacon located, rescue efforts hampered by SNOW. In Santa Fe? In June?
- laguano, on 06/11/2009, -1/+2Next time, use YOUR sense of direction, pilot.
- intelligenze, on 06/10/2009, -1/+1Fish out of water!
- Sixtysixdays, on 06/10/2009, -2/+2He just got pwned.
- MWeather, on 06/10/2009, -2/+17 minute abs!
